Nice place but nothing special, definitely not worth standing in long lines to enter it. And then there's one more to the bar - keep that in mind. It has nice interiors but it's hard to get yourself a free table so most likely you might need to go by the river but then it's a bit pointless to do it there ;))

Absolutely one of my favourite places here in Berlin!! Good food, good beers and good vibes!! You can have it all in this place!! If you want to enjoy the sunset on the river you have to come here, it's always crowded, so you have to search a bit for a place to sit.

I will visit the wood market again in the summer, because now in February the area is pretty dreary. Most of the stalls and houses were closed, the rest were of course overcrowded. Because of an upcoming event, we and all the visitors were forced to leave in a rather unfriendly manner. This has at most superficially anything to do with the often read terms “subcultural” and “alternative”.

Very cute place to have a break/enjoy a drink with friends. They have lots of available benches facing the river or under the trees. Few options for foods (falafel/wraps/pizza) and 3 bars areas - just get ready they only access cash! No need to pay to enter the place.

I really enjoyed my evening at Holzmarkt. Very nice setting with several distinct areas. Very local feeling, I didn't see many tourists. I enjoyed a few beers with some colleagues along the Spree. Definitely recommend. Please mind it's "cash only", so plan accordingly.

Perfect place for chilling with drinks and food with your friends in summers. Very colourful and artsy decor of the bars and eateries. Can get a little crowded though so difficult to find a place sometimes.

Try to enjoy a while here every time you visit Berlin. Very relaxed cool place. With its own bakery, café, bar, pizza and an excellent wine shop. In the summer, just grab a good bottle of wine there, have something to eat and enjoy a place right on the Spree. Events are always good there too.

Sometimes, the best discoveries are the ones you stumble upon, and this place in East Berlin was precisely that—a random find that turned out to be an absolute GEM! The street art, the build, the look, and the feel of the whole place was nothing short of captivating. This vibrant spot is brimming with small shops selling everything from food and drinks to necessities and even random things and junk. There's an eclectic charm to the area that's irresistibly appealing. One of the best parts was the ample free space by the river, a perfect place to sit down and relax, taking in the views and atmosphere. And with only an 8-minute walk from the metro station, accessibility is a breeze. The prices were reasonable, adding to the overall positive experience. My only regret is that our visit was so short; the area had so much to offer that I wished we could have stayed longer. We originally came because of the TeleDisco, but we found so much more to love. Whether you're a local or a visitor, this hidden gem in East Berlin is well worth exploring. It's a refreshing slice of urban culture that leaves a lasting impression. Highly recommended! Also great for kids!

A very chill and peaceful community in Berlin. Come here to drink a beer, smoke something, play cards or chill in the shadow next to the river. There are multiple bars and restaurants to choose from, a lot of places where you can sit and toilets. The place is full of art.

I was at the Christmas market here and it was quite okay. It gets crowded very quickly and the narrow paths mean you don't have much space. There are a few nice stalls and the food and mulled wine are also delicious. Priced in the upper normal range.

Best way to spend an afternoon, sampling wines and beers in a chilled out setting. Some great good on offer too! Take some cash as not all stalls accepted card! One of my favourite spots in Germany.

Really lovely place in the vibrant heart of Berlin. I love to drink some wine, and to eat a pizza in Holtzmarkt. Sometimes there is even a little market. I wish it will happen again.

Such a great place! We went there for the Christmas market and the vibes were so great. There's so many little things to discover, and tge view on the Spree is magical!

We went to the place during Christmas time so there was an amazing Christmas market. It was very authentic and beautiful. It was a bit crowded but good things attract crowd. We felt there was all type of food and drinks inside this market. There was an entry free of 2 euros which is not much for a great place like this. I would definitely suggest this place during Christmas time.

Awesome place to hang out with friends by the river. There are various food stalls that you can choose from. The coolest part for me is that you can sit literally anywhere.

This market was a refreshing stop on our trip with great coffee, tasty food, and amazing stalls with a wide variety of products. I would recommend everyone try it if they are in Berlin, and for 2 euro entries, you can't go wrong.

Vibrant, colorful, spacious and just amazing location 🔥🔥🔥 It's a good location especially during the summer. You have to be super early to get a seat near the spree or else sit on the regular tables.

I stumbled upon this gem while walking by. I found this place to be a creative environment, set on the banks of a river, offering multiple food venues with arts and crafts. I found multiple areas to rest and relax along the river. This is a place I would visit again.

A friend suggested it to me. It seems like a place for the locals and I really liked that "corner" beside the river side. I visited during the afternoon and it was really calm. I enjoyed walking around checking the different art works that are located everywhere. There are many interesting spots to sit and relax by the river.

I come there every time I’m in Berlin, and every time it’s the same yet so different… A gorgeous, colourful, vibrant space that feels like its own world. Definitely better to visit in the summer (it gets a little crowded, but there is something even about that) and sit by the river, but winter holzmarkt holds a special place in my heart as well 🌞

A more than excellent place to relax, meet people and enjoy your drink. Lots of spots to sit, multi-staged and quiet. Open minded people all around you doing the same thing with you: relax.

Highly recommend this place but during warm season. Went here in October and it looks like not much is happening except few trailers still offering drinks and food. I imagine this would be so cool in summer.

Very nice hipster place. There are drinks, food, music inside even campfires. We had some nice coffee at a vegan cafe over there. Must experience if in Berlin!

WOW!! So cool and such a great vibe. It was also a beautiful sunny day - not sure what this would be like when the weather was not so nice but I did love the few hours I spent here. Very creative build-outs along the river and people were clearly enjoying themselves. Interesting restaurants and bars and lots of street art and murals.

It's a hodgepodge of artistic buildings grouped together. It has great places to sit chill and have a drink while admiring the view. Very much with a visit .

A truly beautiful and one of a kind place in the heart of Berlin. It is not as popular with tourists as it is with locals, therefore when you get there you're able to get a hint of what real night life looks like around here. We decided to try out the pretzels available and we were not disappointed. I'd say it is definitely worth checking out.

Super cool place near the East Side gallery with plenty of bars, cafes, art and benches to have a drink or food near the river. It's definitely somewhere I would recommend to anybody who visits Berlin and wants to understand and experience what makes this city so unique and amazing. It's the kind of place I wish I had in my city to hang out at.

This is a really nice group of small bars and restaurants. You can order a drink or something to eat at any of these places and take a seat at the river. Maybe you can even watch the sun go down over Berlin. We chose pizza which got made incredibly fast and was really delicious as well.

Very nice place. Good coffee and the opportunity to enjoy it by the river 😎👍. You can also go at this place and just take a seat by the river and enjoy the peaceful view, without being obliged to buy something, because this place is big with a lot of space. There is also a playground for children.

Very interesting place, would recommend anyone visiting this are of Berlin. The vibe it's really different from anywhere else, you can sit have a drink and even some food if you want. Definitely worth the detour.

this hangout is creative, colorful and fun. people can participate in the beer garden here under public law. Located directly on the Spree, it offers enough seating, has a nice cafe and although it is crooked with many small corners, it is generously laid out. on warm days it feels like a continuous flow heater but when there is enough beer the heat quickly drops to 37°. it's also a wonderful spot for the sociable guy who likes to be alone. Anyone who misbehaves here will be rewarded with a filigree form of physical warning.

A quirky spot, perfectly located on the river bank a few minutes' walk from the East Side gallery. Can be cold and somewhat unpleasant in the winter, but defenitely worth a viait in warmer times for a nice cold beer overlooking the river.

Next to canal, it was very cool place. Venue shows exactly Berlin style. You can take your drinks and then sit close to canal to watch sunset.
