A nice museum with a plethora of interesting collections. We went in the middle of the day on a Saturday, but even then it wasn’t overcrowded. However, despite having a special exhibit on the history of opioids, they have retained their Sackler-dedicated gallery. Do better Harvard.

It’s pressure experience to able back after so long times. Everything was nice and well organized with lovely helpful staff. I booked my tickets online in advance. When I entered there were ready facemask and hand sanitizers. It was optional to wear it but most of the visitors were wearing it or at least social distance. The museum has free locks, everywhere possibility to scan QR code for tour information, map, place exhibition. They are having handicap entrance, elevators and they are borrowing walkers, wheelchairs or just mobile seats. So the museum is really open and accessible for everyone.

This museum's collection was surprising in that it was owned by one school. I found Monet's work that I couldn't see at the Museum of Fine Art Boston. It was especially surprising because it was operated for free. I think it is definitely a place worthy of Harvard University's reputation. Highly recommend it to anyone interested in art.

***Pandemic update: In-person services are being postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, weekly services and music are posted online to Youtube as prepared by the pastor and music team, along with invited guests.*** === Summer worship services are Sundays at 10am, with no Sunday School. During the academic year, Sunday School and Adult Forum are Sundays at 10am with worship service following at 11am. A reception with beverages and light refreshments follows immediately after service downstairs in the fellowship hall. The public is invited. Free guided tours are offered Sundays immediately after service and begin in the Manning Room downstairs behind the piano. All are invited. Free self-guided tours offered most weekdays when the church office is open. Call the church office to schedule guided group tours or for more information

Smaller than expected, and expensive at full price, but plenty of opportunities to save (Cambridge resident, free admission on Sundays, student discounts, etc.). Matisse, Picasso, Van Gogh, O'Keeffe, and other major artists have work here. Definitely reserve your slot in advance.

This is a very beautiful museum with a very nice, extensive collection. I really enjoyed it. Actually, it was even better than I expected. Some masterpieces I've never seen before and they took my breath away! It is also free for all on any day! There is a small cafeteria inside on the first floor. I enjoyed the beautiful surroundings of the Harvard campus. The only problem can be parking, however I reserved parking online in the Broadway garage, which is the closest to the museum (they recommend doing it online before coming). It was $22. Other garages in the area can be available, too but reserve it online first. And print the receipt to bring with you and put it in the window shield. Otherwise, it is very easy to get there by MBTA. I will definitely be back!

Excellent medium-size collection covering a lot of ground in a funny haphazard way. You can find threads that bring together the different parts of the museum, and still enjoy the jumps in styles and epochs, geographies, cultures, and media. Highly recommended the museum nights on the last Thursday of the month (free entry, beer and food in the main court--not free but at fair prices--and music). It gets busy, though!

Frugal folk rejoice as this museum is now a free-of-cost experience for all thanks to the Rockefeller foundation. It's such a diverse collection of art and artifacts from all corners of the world and across large timelines. Each room is carefully curated and flows right into the next. You can tell that a great deal of thought went into the displays and their positioning across the layout of the museum. We spent 5 hours there and still that was not enough to fully experience all 3 floors. Make a day out of it, you'll be glad you did.

Harvard Art Museums offer a remarkable experience with its clean and well-maintained premises. The fact that entry is free enhances accessibility, making it an inclusive cultural destination. The museum's exceptional organization ensures a smooth and enjoyable visit, allowing visitors to fully appreciate the extensive art collection. The variety of exhibits and the institution's commitment to excellence contribute to an overall awesome and enriching cultural experience. A visit to Harvard Art Museums is a testament to the institution's dedication to providing a world-class art encounter for all.

Great place. If you are in the area worth to stop by and explore the art exhibits. There is an entrance fee of $20 for the general public. Not sure of there is a student or senior discount. They also have lockers to store your items. Museum is a good size but u can get thru in couple of hours depending on how much of an art fan u are !

Beautiful old church. They have a very informative video and then we walked around the church by ourselves. Several very old documents and pieces our where you can see them close up. It is a beautiful place worth the visit!! Cost is a donation.

Pretty cool the this church predated the Fourth of July and that George Washington may have made his way here. The exterior is stately, the interior is simple with closed pews. Nicely done.

This is the very first Baptist Church in America founded by Roger Williams in 1638. The original steeple of the church was built in three days by the local ship builders. The church has Sunday services at 11AM.

The Harvard Art Museums offer a mediocre collection of art in a beautiful environment that could be so much better. Also, if you are not a student or Cambridge resident, you must pay an entrance fee to see the collection and exhibits. I'm only giving them 3 stars because nothing in the collection or exhibits really impressed me. You get to see some nice art, but nothing huge, like the 20' Rothko that hangs in the Harvard Dining Hall where it used to get food and chair dents in it until it was restored and protected behind a plexiglass screen. None of the art is particularly large. If you want to be impressed go to Yale's Art Museums - they are great, much larger than the Harvard museum, AND they are FREE! Lastly, Harvard claims it has 3 art museums. What it never tells you is that they are simply different collection all in the same museum building. The museum isn't that large and you only need a couple of hours to see it. I found it very disappointing compared to other art venues available in Massachusetts and all of New England. Many with no entry fee.

We went on international museum day so it was free admission. We assumed it would be crowded but it was not. They have an impressive collection. Honestly, Harvard should have free admission more often given their wealth and tax breaks. We loved the first floor collections and spent most of our time there. Recommend a visit.

I would call this place a hidden gem, for sure. Should be on more 'best of Boston' lists, and it's not so big that you can't get out and explore the great food nearby. A great mix of old and new. I don't know why they call each gallery hall it's own museum, but Boston seems to label everything strangely.

Part of the Harvard University campus, the three museums making up the unified building are Fogg Museum, Busch-Reisinger Museum, and Arthur M. Sackler Museum. Harvard Art Museums are free and open to the public on Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Visitors must check in at the admissions desk located in the lobby to receive keys to a complimentary locker to store their bags and coats. Sign up before you go to save time at the admissions desk and make the student staff member eternally grateful. The museums have both stairs and elevator to navigate between floors, and most galleries are well-lit, although more seating would improve the experience. The nearest parking options for the museum are at the Harvard University Garage or Lot, but these are expensive. Taking the T to Harvard Square is the best option to arrive. Alternatively, you could park at the MBTA Alewife Garage, walk two miles to Longfellow House, walk a mile to Cooper Frost Austin House, and then walk another mile to Harvard Art Museums like I did, but unless you really enjoy walking (like me!), the T is a direct trip and your best option.

The new building is absolutely stunning. The Museum itself is a major teaching Museum. It has works from virtually all civilizations throughout history. Some of the paintings are iconic and everyone will recognize them. Others I haven't seen before. This may be a teaching Museum, but it's actually quite large. Make sure you will allot 1 to 3 hours to see it.

This is a very doable museum if you have an afternoon to spend in Harvard Square. They have a very nice variety of eras and artists represented in the collections. The lobby seating is usually full of people studying instead of cafe patrons but that’s to be expected. The staff is friendly and polite. I’m grateful to have such a lovely art museum nearby!

Thank you for making this accessible to all with free admission on Sundays. My daughter and I were visiting Boston from Florida for the weekend and we stayed in the Cambridge area. This was on my daughter’s to do list while here. Our flight was delayed on Sunday, so we were able to spend a good three hours here before heading to the airport. They have a coat check, lockers and a luggage hold which were very convenient! Thank you again.

It was a really nice and huge museum. A must do when you visit Boston and I get the chance to get in there for free every last Thursday of each month there's is an event with food and beverages and to know new people 😀. The museum is really big so you have to plan what you are going to do during your visit because it's impossible to go through everything. Personal workers are also so nice and helpful

Formerly several museums, the contents of which were combined to provide a comprehensive and insightful collection of artworks from around the world. There are impressionist masterpieces alongside ancient works from China and Japan, alongside lush medieval European scenes and experimental, darkly phantasmal German and Norwegian paintings. I highly recommend the cafe, which is lovely and vibrant, with a varied selection and delightfully eccentric specials.

We went to Harvard art museum because we had some free time and we wanted to check out some artworks. However, we were satisfied the museum has a lot of variety of art pieces throughout the time and I was specifically really excited to see Gustav Klimt painting. If you have some free time in Boston, I would advise you to go to a Harvard art museum it is free and it is fun to walk around.

Great museums and for free and in one building. Amazing artifacts and art covering thousands of years. I focused on the paintings and there are so many terrific pieces. I loved the John Singer Sargent hung in the hallway. Street scene from Cairo. But several other landscapes by Church, Innis, Bierstadt and more. There is 2 hour parking for $3.50 on many streets around the museum including right out front. I didn’t check out the cafe. Of course one museum is the Sackler Gallery and I expected more written recognition of how that family’s wealth is built on the suffering and death of so many people and communities.

The museum is very clean and organized. The selection of art (my wife is interested in art, me...sort of) was varied and interesting, with a large selection of beautiful paintings, sculpture and historical pieces. This museum is like a police state. Security guards target people of color and follow them around corners. They need some anti-bias training. There was one old black woman in particular named Nelly who gave us dirty looks as my friend and I entered an exhibit, and kept following us around. There were plenty of other white people, and she wasn't watching them at all. As we were discussing the paintings, she rudely jumped in and told us not to point at paintings (!). The experience was so traumatizing that we ended up leaving the gallery early. My friend was in tears. I’ve been to museums all around the world and this was my first time experiencing this kind of racialized surveillance and aggression. Surprised that this sort of thing happens at a museum run by a university. Wow.

We walked all the way over from downtown to see the church during hours posted on the church’s website, only to find out from two very unfriendly women that no tours were being given today. Either adjust the info on your website and follow your own hours or don’t bother giving tours at all. Also, I personally have a real problem with any church locked up tight during reasonable hours at all. What if a parishioner just needed to go in to pray? Very unwelcoming place!!!

It is what it is - not awe inspiring, but interesting history and you can tell what it must have been like to be in it when it was built.

Many churches call themselves "First Church of..." but this actually is the first Baptist Church in America. The building is beautiful. Oddly enough, the building serves as the home of Brown's commencement ceremony.

The first and only time I've been here was a few years ago on the day that I found out that one of my friends had died. I was able to quietly sit in front of one of these beautiful paintings/ art and process what had happened. I am very grateful that I was able to have that space. I plan on returning someday.

Unbelievably good painting collection for such a small space. Have been there for number of times and will go again. Location is nice too, lively college atmosphere.

Not as large and not the same feeling as some of the larger museums, but I like some of the collections. Worths a visit (or several visits).

Nice museum with an eclectic collection of artifacts from ancient Byzantine to modern US. Covid vaccination is required. Tickets are $20. Make sure to make a reservation in advance. You should expect to spend an hour per each of the four exhibition floors.

I am in awe. Never regreting it. The collections are quite impressive, which was kinda unexpected as I wasn't expecting a standard to be as good as other famous museums globally. Grateful to have had this opportunity to visit 🙏🏼 A must-go if you ever go to Cambridge!

😎how many times have I been to this place? 3-4 👩🏻summary: not too big not too crowded. One of the museums with a diverse and extensive collection of artwork. 💁🏻‍♀️would I revisit this place? Yes

One of the best museum that I have been to. If you love art then you should visit here. Admission is free and open to public, Friendly staff, lot of things to see. It would take at least 1+ hour to see everything that is spread across 3+ floors. There are arts and artifacts that are way old even from the B.C.'s been preserved here.

As of 2023 this museum is FREE. Don't be fooled by the MFA, this is in fact the best museum in the Boston/Cambridge area. The collection is grand and well curated, but what really takes the cake is it's much smaller and more experience-friendly size. It's only 3 floors. It also has an unsung hero in the museum cafe. Beautiful inner courtyard to enjoy a cardamom latte. Also, very reasonably priced??? Still shook my latte less than $4. Coffee prices in this city are just unreasonable these days.

I always start art museums from the top floor and work my way down but it felt like a mistake as the upper floors are Roman then descend into contemporary. Get there early (I arrived at 10am and it was peaceful but by the time i left at 12.45 it was really packed). The coffee shop is basic so eat locally. However it’s very touristy locally and everything is mass market so not sure it’s a better option. Stunning art collection that is from every where maybe with the exception of South America. References colonialism and mentions how artefacts were acquired so some brutal honesty in descriptions.

A place to visit, three floors with impressive and a very good selected art collection. And free. You can get here by public transport or by car. I would recommend parking in Church St. Also, send an email through the website to confirm: date, times, and number of people.

This place is awesome. First of all, it's a free museum, so at worst, even if you don't like it, you'll only waste your time. I went there a bit by chance, thinking that something free might be "not great" (yes, that's a bit of a stupid reasoning). And I was very pleasantly surprised. The collections are varied: you mainly have Western paintings but you will also find pieces from other civilizations, some Asian. I also had a collection (temporary it seems to me) more focused on archeology/Antiquities. The painting level collection is really great. You will find, as I said, mainly Western works: Van Gogh, Pissaro, Picasso, Manet, Monet, Le Douanier Rousseau, Georgia O'Keeffe, Klee, Klimt, Miro, Mondrian, Toulouse-Lautrec, Jacques Louis David, Seurat , Degas, Dubuffet, Renoir, Cézanne, Courbet, Delacroix, Géricault, Fragonnard, Rubens, Poussin... These are the names of artists whose paintings you will be able to come across. So, even if you're not a pro in the arts (like me), it's always nice to see paintings by these big names in painting. Some are very well-known paintings, others not. But we really enjoy walking around. I add that among the lesser known painters (at least to me!) we also find very beautiful paintings. I happened to stand and contemplate certain paintings for a long time (although believe me, this is not a habit that I have). The collection is really quality! I add that the museum also offers contemporary works which are different and not uninteresting. To conclude, I find that this museum is on a “human scale”. You're not lost like in the Louvre but it's not particularly small either. I stayed there for about 1.5 hours but I would have stayed a little longer if I had had time. Brief. If you come to visit Boston (which is a pretty city by the way), I advise you to take a trip to Harvard to discover this great museum (and take the opportunity to take a tour of the campus right opposite).

👍👍 A Tatte is a Tatte. You know what you're getting into. It's a place with phenomenal vibes and food that feels refined but accessible at the same time. I got a Linzer cookie which tasted tart and sweet, but a little dry as well. I'm forgetting the name of the menu item, but I also got scrambled eggs...
