The pizza was great and genuine, New York style. All these negative reviews boil down, I think, to the fact that this is a no-frills local pizza joint. You know, people, not everything in Takoma Park has to espouse a bourgeoise ideal. If you need a refined DiNiNg eXpErIEnCe there are 45 other options in Takoma that will work for you. Let the people have pizza.

I have to admit that I've lived in Takoma Park for a long time and I've always avoided pizza movers. The reviews online made it sound like there were better places to go, and we always went to Roscoe's or Timber for our high end pizzas, and Domino's for our quick and easy pizzas. We got pizza from Pizza Movers for the first time ever recently and really enjoyed it. No customer service issues of any sort, which we were bracing for based on the reviews. We have since had PM a couple more times, and the only issue that we have seen is that the flavor has been a little inconsistent, but it's still really good. Cheese is a B+, toppings are a B+, sauce is an A, and crust is a solid B. We are going to continue to go here for as long as they serve us decent pizza - and for as long as we don't run into any customer service issues.

Dear Takoma Park (and surrounding areas); If you aren't getting your pizza from Pizza Movers on Laurel Ave., what are you doing with your life? Pizza movers has been a staple in our community since 1978. They served our community during quarantine. They've sponsored our little league teams. But most importantly, they have the best damn pizza around. Seriously, made by hand, fresh for you everyday. Go get that dough! (P. S. - Their sandwiches are very good too. Bonus discovery: the tables right outside made for a lovely impromptu date nite spot.)

Coworker got 5 wings and drink for $7.45. They were likely made weeks ago or left out too long: slimy, soft, and inedible. I feel a little sick after simply licking the grease off of my finger. I was too horrified to even take a bite

Takoma neighborhood standby to-go pizza shop. Crust is actually way better than what one might expect. (3-4* since 2009) the pizza has never been great, and the price never consistent with the hole in the wall. But you're going to walk by, why not grab a pie? only now they can't be bothered to take an order over the phone. and hurriedly direct you to a website which does NOT have online ordering. oh wait, we meant some other website. ya know what? forget it.

You would think that food places would welcome customers during this time. Instead, hung up on the first time I called because, when I found out they did not have options for the pizza that I wanted to order, asking 2 additional questions was too much. I called back, began ordering. Finished said order and was told to order online instead because it was easier for them and me. I stated that it was actually not easier for me because I had just placed my order. I was ignored. Told to order online. Come to find out their prices were almost $30 for a large pepperoni, spinach, and black olive pizza. After that "customer service," this was laughable. Instead I called Lil Caesar's, even though I had wanted to support local. Quick, easy, friendly service. Took my order over the phone. Twice the food for half the price. Honestly, Pizza Movers never impressed quality wise anyway, and prices like that for a mediocre pizza- no thanks.

If I could give this place a negative zero stars I would. First of all they are scammers. Their medium sized is actually a small pizza. Their large is actually a medium-sized pizza and their extra large is actually a large sized pizza. The man in there is very disrespectful and talks to you as if he's back in his country. You can tell he has no respect for women. I paid for medium pizza but got a small. I will never ever order there again. Do not go there.

Worst customer service I have ever experienced. So unprofessional. For many years they had a carryout deal for a 1 topping XL pizza for $10.99. I ordered this for carryout and when I went to pay they told me my pizza was $22. I asked about the special and they rudely told me I must not have been there in years. I had ordered with that carryout deal less then a year prior. The only reason I ordered from this pizza place was because of this one carryout deal. They have always had the absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced but I dealt with it for the $10 deal. Never supporting pizza movers again, ever!

Stopped here before a road trip to the beach. Got a full pepperoni pie with 1/2 green Peppers. The owner who took our order was so friendly and helpful, he had our pizza ready in 15mins flat and it was absolutely delicious! Would definitely recommend to anyone in the Takoma Park area!

Ordered delivery around lunchtime. The first thing we noticed was how heavy the box was. We opened it up and everything looked wonderful inside. First impressions were very good: Nice, fresh dough, plenty of toppings, cheese, and sauce. No burn spots or scorch marks on the top or bottom. We also got wings, and they topped up the container with some homestyle fries - very nice touch and much appreciated. Came back for another slice after it had cooled down a bit, and it was just as good - the dough is chewy, but very tasty and well-seasoned, and they do not skimp on toppings. Great pizza for the area - we'll definitely order again! The only disappointment was the blue cheese sauce, which tasted strongly of Canola oil and didn't have any blue cheese in it - maybe we got a bad batch.

My family often ordered from Pizza Movers during my childhood. 15 plus years later we are still order and still beyond satisfied!! Customer services, pizza sizes, food portions, and taste are ALWAYS 10/10. Thank you for consistently providing a quality service and tasty food.

Pizza Movers has fed my family for decades and we'll keep going back! Extra sauce and extra cheese really hit it home for the pepperoni pizza. If ever there's something wrong with our order (which is rare) they've been accommodating and made sure it was corrected quickly. Hope to go back soon!

My favorite pizza place! I’ve been coming here since I was a kid and always stop by when I’m in town. I ordered 2 large pepperoni pizzas and the owner gave me 2 extra-large pizzas for no extra charge! Very friendly people and awesome pizza, definitely a staple of Takoma Park.

The pizza is a great option for a night out with friends, I grew up on Pizza Movers. The massive pizzas are perfect for parties. I called over the phone to order for pick-up and my food was ready in perfect timing. There is nice seating in the cute little strip of Old Takoma. Colorful chairs and beautiful art make it a lovely place to enjoy pizza by yourself or with friends. The pizza is delicious, with a great crust and is always a treat when I'm in town.

don’t even try to hide how racist they are. So difficult to talk to , will ignore your questions and tell you not to worry when you ask for the total. 0 stars. Terrible customer service especially towards POC customers.

HORRIBLE customer service and plain flavorless food. Went in there with my friends a couple times and they were rude. We let it slide because we were hungry and that was the only pizza place open around. Went in there today for the third time and they were being extremely rude AGAIN. We were just asking him simple questions respectfully and he kept telling us to shut up. We put up with it for a couple minutes, but then he got really nasty and we just decided to leave instead. Pick one struggle man. Can’t have a bad attitude and bad food. Pick one!
