Been coming to Gateau for the past few years. Food is decent and the staff tries to manage customers well. Prices have increased significantly, but let's ignore that for now. What I take issue with is their recent decision to charge extra for condiments. While I understand the need for restaurants to make a profit, charging Br70 for basic items like a tiny dish of ketchup or hot sauce feels excessive and in poor taste.

It was our first time here on a Sunday afternoon. It was not crowded but the service was very slow and it took a while for our table to be cleaned, have the order taken and brought to us. We sat outside which was really nice. Overall, we liked the pastries better than the sandwiches.

My family and I have been going here since it opened. There pastries are exquisite. The only ISSUE is while paying for our tab we have are either charged for items we have not used or not being charged for items we have used. This has happened multiple times. Look at your receipts if you are dining in.

Beautiful place. Service was good but a bit aggressive and place gets crowded after 4pm. The food was not good whatsoever, I ordered a cheese burger. But the pastry on the other hand was top notch, their chocolate tonca cake is highly recommended.

Lovely cafe with clean, neat interiors and cozy, calm vibes. It’s animal-friendly, which adds a sweet touch. Great place to relax or work. Service is okay, could be a bit more attentive. Food is decent not amazing, but satisfying. Worth a visit for the peaceful atmosphere.

Went at a night, the place was not crowded at all and very cozy. Indoor and outdoor services with good pastries and different types of foods. The service isn't bad but could be better. Definitely worth a visit.

Although it was the fasting season, there were decent vegan options, but I think it is more of a breakfast/brunch place than lunch. We tried the vegetable sandwich, falafel sandwich, salmon & avocade bagel, the pasta with tuna sauce and salad. The food was good. We were told there were no side french fries even though when we ordered, we were told it would be ready even if it might take time. The fasting pastry was amazing, especially the black forest and tart. The place is beautiful and the outdoor sitting area is just amazing with beautiful plants. The service is ok, although servers at times were not attentive. Overall, it's a good place, but maybe we need to give it another try during the non-fasting season. 😍

Very good bakery with great baguettes, bread and pastries. Also a selection of French cheese and sausages. Afternoons and weekends can be very busy. Stuff is friendly but unorganized when it's busy.

When we start from the hospitality, they have good hospitality, although it is not satisfactory. A burger is just a salad with no flavor on the bun. Improve it. This burger doesn't fit Gato.
