Great experience and excellent service, just bumped I had to walk to everywhere,

The service was very good for my 3 months and specially the ladies on the reception. Elrice n Ashlee ladies ur the best.

I spend alot of time in Secunda, the Merchant Hotel is the only place I will stay. The rooms are more than comfortable, and satisfy every need one could have. The reception staff, Elrice, Flourene, Ashleigh and Geraldine are absolutely fantastic and could not go out of their way any more than they already do to make your stay even better. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Their cheery faces and happy smiles really make a difference when you're away from home for extended periods. Staying at the Merchant could not be better defined other than a "home away from home." BC

As per request of the hotel manager, I have changed my review: Hotel rooms and service is great. A suggestion for future clients: when changing your booking details please make sure to confirm with the hotel the specific dates and details. Reasons are they have canceled our entire week's booking based off of an assumption when we sent an email stating "team will not be able to make it for the 30th July 2023 as booked". From our side we should have said ONLY the 30th July, however we thought giving the date was sufficient enough. So I suggest to be very clear in your communication with the hotel.

Third time booking here and my last time the lady with the glasses is so rude at reception. Just because there is some room confusion with the other customers. Do not offload your anger on a customer. Do better! I did my part by honoring my booking. Secondly the light in room 12 was burnt out.

Called to make an enquiry for a booking, spoke to the receptionist who had the most disgusting manner of speaking to people, she was not clear on the accommodation type - furthermore they do not allowed children for the weekend. Clearly their staff need some etiquette training.

Amazing place. Really clean,tidy and peaceful. The host (Geraldine) was very helpful and pleasant. Service was immaculate. Really awesome place to stay for business/holiday

The place is neat & perfect for your stay in Secunda. The breakfast and facilities are great. The lodge is beautiful with the lake providing an awesome view :-)

Ialway have the best experience of my business trips, when I'm booked at Umuzi Lake Umuzi, the ambience created at front desk makes my stay to be on another TIp🤘😅 When Jabulile and Ashley are @ the front.. smooth sailing vibes🤌

The names are not my favourite.... and because of the spelling, I might get it wrong🤭 but the service is total world class such friendly service and the level of professionalism is excellent. Thank you Elreese, Ashley, Geraldine, Florence and Jabu! 💐💐💐🎊🎊🎊

Very welcoming and professional staff. The room was very spacious. The only downside with the room is that it had a lack of ceiling lights which made the room very dark, however there was about 6 side lamps which is a good compromise. The breakfast buffet was fresh and they had a wide variety to choose from.

The service I get from the staff is exceptional. I am very happy. To name a few Elrice and Florene they are always welcoming. The rooms are spacious and quiet. I love everything about this hotel.

Ashley and Elrice are the best hostesses, their bright welcoming smile makes one come back again and again, big ups to you ladies, your hospitality is amazing,

The Merchant Hotel is my Hotel in Secunda. I am quite happy with the service that I always receive, particularly from the front desk ladies. I always interact with the following ladies who are exceptional to me: Jabulile, Ashlee and Elrice. Ladies you are Stars, I like your smiles, keep on smiling...

My 4 weeks stay was comfortable and warm given the current weather. The room was well kept and cozy after a long a day at work. The reception staff was great and Jabulile and Ashley was warm and attentive, I wil definitely return in the the sumer and book in the chalets

My one star rating is purely based on the receptionists. Thee most unfriendly and unwelcoming group I have ever encountered. The room itself was fine, clean and comfortable. Have to walk to the restaurant for breakfast, not ideal, but it wasn't a big deal. I could have given the hotel 4 stars really, however, the lack of hospitality from the front desk was a major deal breaker. The ladies in front (all of them) really need to do better, just be nicer to your guests.

Very good hotel , I think one of the best in secunda. Near the lake, amazing surrounding , very polite and helpful staff, very good location, nearby Lot of restaurants, europcar etc , rooms are big and clean, very good initiative of providing direct ro water line to room

The place is very nice. Very clean, and very quiet. I wish I was staying longer, unfortunately just came through for business.

Great service and good hygiene and cleanliness. Loving the place Only issue is security is too tight, no visitors, not even someone dropping or delivering. Done at the gate and makes one feel like a prisoner

Again a warm welcome with a nice team in à confortable room. The hotel area is quite & relaxing with nature & local animals. Nice swimming pool & good small gym. And also the quite new spa to enjoy massages 😁
