This place is absolutely amazing!! The range of plant life is beyond imagining, all thriving in a spectacular natural setting with rivers and waterfalls. The signs and educational displays are very helpful; the paths are well-groomed and enticing, and all-in-all it is a perfect place to spend a few hours. If I lived in the area, I would visit many times a year.

One of the best Botanical gardens in the country and a real gem in Mbombela. There is just so much to see and the gardens are well curated and taken care of. There are restaurants and also many spots to stop and picnic. The place has great signage and this combined with the maps ensures you always have an idea where you are. My favourite was the African rainforest, the suspension bridge and the very powerful waterfalls.

My favorite place in Johannesburg is the Walter Sisulu Botanical Gardens. The Lowfeld National Botanical Gardens is on the same standard. The variety of indigenous plants are astounding. The garden is extremely well kept and clean, and the cascades were awesome! The beers at the tea garden were served ice cold and in chilled glasses, as it should be!

Beautiful and very extensive botanical garden representing many different biomes. Safe parking on site. Board walk through the tree tops. Suspense bridge over the beautiful river. Amazingly beautiful water falls. Hikes that make you feel as if you wer right in the bush. Restaurant and coffee shop. And you can come and have your little event here as well - just bring your own chairs and pay the entrance fee of R50 per adult.

The best place to go for a mental break, the fauna and flora is amazing, the waterfalls create an amazing oasis that makes one want to whip up their yoga mat and start meditating 🧘🏾‍♀️. Highly recommended if you want to escape the bustle of the city and get lost in your solitude.

Absolutely loved spending the day here. It's pram and child friendly! Definitely would recommend going there as soon as they open and spending the entire day here. Walking to the cascades was so easy with a baby. They have a beautiful rainforest and garden walk with a fun play area for kids. Appreciated how well maintained the place is, keep it up!!👏🏼💖

Well established gardens and amazing waterfall. The kids really enjoyed the labyrinth and play area. Pity that the pedestrian bridge was washed away.

A beautiful botanical garden which is a must see in Nelspruit. You’ll need a few hours here to embrace the waterfalls, forests and tranquility.

As far as national botanical gardens go, this is probably one of the best in SA. WONDERFUL play area for the kids, with shaded benches nearby. Pathways are abundant, with stunning views. Upon entering the park (at the kiosk) you should ask about the river walk - it is required to let them know if you do take the short hike for safety reasons. The raised walkway through the forest and across the river is an awesome experience for adults and kids alike. Be weary of some of the walkways in shady areas - they do tend to be a bit slippery, especially when wet. Flora is diverse and lush, even in winter! Varieties and examples from all over africa. Well tended gardens and lawns. Loads of insects and birds to see (especially sunbirds). Grounds keepers are friendly and do a stellar job of ensuring a litter free area - please do the same.

The best gardens in South Africa? Just love these gardens in Mbombela and they are always a real treat to visit. Tropical / sub tropical plants and superb water falls / rapids. We really love our visits to this place.

It is a nice place to connect with nature, do wear attire that would allow you to walk, if you would like to cover the whole gardens, there's about 5km of travel to be made. When you are done, there's a restaurant there waiting for you with a cold one. Their ribs are amazing and reasonably priced. The entrance fee is R40, with R3 for the maps. Do bring water due to heat

To be honest. I have been meaning to visit The Botanical Garden for a recent number of years now. To my luck, I've been able to not only visit the Gardens. But even more so, I got to attend an equal event I've been meaning to experience for a number of years (Corona Sunset Tour) Both experiences were lovely & I believe I showed up accordingly as well... Now I can make bookings confidently for future reference.

The water fall was the best for me. Sprayed on a summer's day. Majestic beauty.

It's one of the most beautiful botanic gardens I've ever visited. The views, the kids playground, the gardens, the waterfall and different plants to see, it's just breathtaking. I suggest you challenge yourself and do the hike early in the morning 🙂

This time around I decided to visit the restaurant to try out a different menu and being the foodie that I am , I was quite impressed 😋 👌. The ribs were juicy and the rice was just as tasty. Unfortunately, the chakalaka was too spicy for my own liking . The prices are relatively reasonable as well.

It's absolutely beautiful. The park is really well maintained with clean facilities and friendly staff. Enter through gate 1 for a view of the waterfall and return to drive to gate 2 as the suspension bridge linking the two areas is unfortunately broken at the moment. Gate 2 offers a beautiful walk through the African rain forest, picnic spots and a kids play area.

Stunning botanical garden! One of the very best in SA. Especially after the rain, the waterfall is amazing. Neat, immaculate gardens ranging from forest to flower beds. Well worth a visit. Pack a picnic basket and spend the whole day here!

We had a wonderful time. The gardens are always so beautiful and, as I've gotten older, I've started to appreciate the different aspects more and more. I hope the reconstruction of the bridge and waterfall viewpoint will be completed soon as those were always some of my most favorite views

This is one of the most gorgeous botanical gardens I know! I was asking myself why I don't visit it more often to take walks & experience the tranquil & beauty it holds. However, since I had gone there to attend the Social Market event, I feel there's so much that needs to improve. The venue is exquisite, the Live Performances, amazing 👏 We just starved because there weren't enough food stalls nor enough food in them. The service was not great which lack of communication which displayed a lack of professionalism. The missing star is for my overall experience.

I love the stillness of the place, we were fortunate to find a shopping cart by the gate which helped with loading picnic things. I'd suggest they look into a service of that kind where we rent wheelies to carry picnic stuff as the walk to the grass is a bit far. Overall great service with a great jungle gym for the kiddies.

Very nice. Beautifull place. Everything well kept and in good condition. The rainforest is amazing! Especially while its raining!(when the sprinkler is on). It actually feels like you are in a rainforest. Play area is very nice and well kept. The plants and garden are well kept and tended to. A great place to take children to. The waterfalls are beautifull.

I had a great time with a colleague. We started off with lunch at the restaurant, we both enjoyed our food. Then we took off for a walk at the garden, amazing, beautiful, breathtaking scenery! There's also a place where you can have a picnic and enjoy the beauty and relaxation of the place. Definitely coming again! Tip: make sure to bring water if you plan on exploring the garden.

This is a wonderful place to be in. You'll smell and feel nature first hand. It's well maintained and managed. It's close to the town but you'll feel like you a thousand miles from a city. Nice picnicking areas beautiful trees, shrubs and plants. Walk ways are nice and the bridges are awesome. The African rain forest is beautiful and cool to walk through.
