Insanely Beautiful hike! It was pretty intense with the rain that had just come through but it was a great experience.

Incredible 3 days, switching off from the usual rat race. Overnight huts were sparkling clean and the honesty boxes a welcome luxury after a few hours of hiking in the stunning terrain. Pieta and Percy were great to chat to, to get a lot of the history of the trails and surrounding area. Awesome time!

We only did 1 day of the trail. But loved it. Nothings beats the very creative accommodation. Stayed in the vintage train. And the the aloe khaya hut

Did the 3 day hike in December. It was pretty hot, but the trail goes through many valleys with shade and crosses rivers to cool off in. The pathways and cabins are well looked after. It's a pity that no pets are allowed anymore, though. It was one of the things that made the trail attractive for me.

Walked some new loops, for us, around Pongola Express. A few interesting features, like caves. Always amazing!

Amazing hiking trail with well maintained and fully equipped cabins. You will find power and water at all the overnight stops. The scenery is amazing and the game you will see is out of this world.

Really beautiful hiking trail with lots of variety. Lots of ups and downs so some fitness required especially when hiking with full backpack

My husband did the num num trail twice and absolutely loved it. This year we wanted to go as family but two days before our daughter got sick and we had to cancel. Pieta, who was so helpful organizing the trip was so kind when we had to cancel. Thanks again for that. We will definitely give it another try soon.

Really enjoyed staying in the Pongola Express. Percy made us very welcome. The trail to Aloe Cottage was challenging but beautiful. Will be back to do more sections.

Nestled amidst the wilderness, each campsite felt like a cozy oasis, offering a harmonious blend of comfort and rustic charm. The thoughtfulness put into every detail, from the well-maintained accommodations to the spotless washrooms, was a testament to the dedication of the staff. Speaking of staff, the owner of High Five Hiking Trail was a beacon of warmth and hospitality. Their genuine passion for the trail and its visitors was evident in every interaction. We were met with a constant willingness to assist, a trait that proved invaluable when we realized we had left our LED Lenser headlamp behind. The owner's honesty and commitment shone through as they personally delivered the headlamp back to us, ensuring that our adventure remained illuminated. But it wasn't just the owner who impressed us. The entire staff exhibited a remarkable blend of friendliness and professionalism. Their genuine camaraderie and willingness to go the extra mile made us feel like cherished guests, adding an extra layer of joy to our hiking experience. As we traversed the High Five Hiking Trail, we were treated not only to picturesque vistas and challenging terrain but also to the warm embrace of a community that values nature, camaraderie, and the pursuit of adventure. The memories forged during those 5 days will forever hold a special place in our hearts, thanks in no small part to the wonderous facilities, the incredible owner, and the exceptional staff of High Five Hiking Trail.
