Entrance
is
R80
(Fee
to
enter
the
reserve
and
hike).
Card
payments
only!
An
absolute
massive
nature
reserve
on
the
outskirts
of
town
so
you
can
reconnect
with
nature.
I
completed
the
Bokmakierie
trail
(17km).
Towards
the
end
of
the
17km
trail
i
saw
signage
indicating
to
go
left
to
join
the
cheetah
trail.
If
you
turn
left
here
and
keep
walking
up
you'll
see
a
cairn
(stacked
rocks)
turn
right
and
u
can
head
back
to
the
entrance.
Trails
are
marked
well
though
so
you
shouldn't
get
lost
.
The
Bokmakierie
trail
is
definitely
scenic.
You're
surrounded
by
rolling
dry
bushveld
hilltops.
The
terrain
is
sandy
and
uneven
with
rocks.
Unfortunately,
spotting
animals
is
rare,
i
think
i
might
have
seen
a
single
Eland.
There
are
lots
of
birds.
In
terms
of
difficultly
i
consider
this
to
be
moderate.
If
you've
been
hiking
you'll
complete
it
fairly
easily.
There
are
definitely
some
long
gradual
and
steep
ascents
to
get
those
quad
muscles
burning.
Make
sure
to
park
by
the
picnic
area
to
start
either
the
Bokmakierie
or
Cheetah
trail.
The
Cheetah
trail
is
4.5km
which
would
be
considered
easy.
The
Bokmakierie
trail
is
adequate
enough
to
give
you
a
nice
workout
with
nice
views
as
well.
Enjoy!
