What a Surprisingly Pleasant evening!!! Staff all of them is so friendly and their service on top form. To our waitress Happiness your name do you justice. To the manager Thank you for being so welcoming and checking on your patroits regularly You make a difference. You have definitely won US over. See you again soon. Great service, nice ambience, however the food wasn't as lovely and proper portion meal.. The drinks were lovely.. But meal portions can be improved and the authenticity of fish flavour.

This was only the second time we got food from John Dory's and will likely be the last time. The service in this place is abysmal. I phoned and ordered a sushi platter 20minutes in advance. When I arrived to collect it I had to wait another 15minutes. The food was ready, but for some reason only the waitress that took the order was able to help us and she was busy in the back, so by the time we got home with our sushi it was not as fresh as I would like and the salmon was warm. Both times we have gone there the experience has been the same, the restaurant is quiet, but service is painfully slow. Staff are rude and unfriendly. Really disappointing.

Great service, friendly staff and creative yummy sushi. Very accommodating with replacing things indidnt want or like on platter. Highly recommend

They have a great and amazing menu...but the wait for your food....seriously is too much... Oir order took about 50 mins...at that time I was too angry to be hungry...good food..disappointing service

Up front I need to say, We do not stay in Secunda, and we have had meals here before but not regularly. My wife order’d a Sole, one of the most flavorful and delicate fishes to eat. This serving was well over cooked, dry, and even baked/ fried in such a manner that some of the flesh would not release from the bone. Also the serving was very small.(see pictures). We questioned why the restaurant was so empty when we walked in. Now we know.

Extremely disappointed with the restaurant's service. Not only did our food take forever to arrive, but we observed other tables receiving their orders before us. It was frustrating to see our meal consistently delayed, making us feel neglected and undervalued as customers. Ended it off by rather just leaving the place. We've been loyal customers to JD Secunda since day 1, but today was our last day.

The food was presented very nice, but overcooked prawns had a BBQ sauce on which didn't match good with the prawns. The calamari tasted like school erasers, very chewy. The hake saved the plater, it was okay, not amazing, just okay. Desserts was amazing. Mmmm yummy desserts

Robert our waiter for the night, service was exceptional, very friendly and helpful. The food was also great and very tasty. We enjoyed our night at John Dory's Secunda.

Service is actually the best because the manager has to take over from the waiter. I love my sushi, and they have a good selection of other food. If problems arise, air them, and thats how a company can grow if it gets taken care of. Looking forward to the next one.

The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. If you see the need to be environmentally friendly, SAVE a TREE and don't use paper straws. Bamboo is a better option, but not paper.

The service was abysmal. I went to for the sushi special and normally spend a substantial amount on a meal. However on the evening of 9 November 2022 it was very disappointing. I asked for a beverage and when after ten minutes it had not arrived, i had to ask a different person. When I needed additional serviettes, I again had to ask a different waiter. I felt like I was dumped into a seat and abandoned, as my waitress had far better interests out in the mall. Fed up with the poor service, I had to request my bill from somebody else again, as my waitress was nowhere to be seen as she was prancing around the mall with her friends. I doubt if she even knew that I left! What pathetic service!

I am disappointed to say....it was not a good evening at all. It was so HOT it spoiled the whole evening. After numerous requests to have the aircon turned on and we were not the only patrons waving us with menus to cool down they still didnt do anything. So we ate and left ... What a sad and disappointing end after John Dory's WAS 1 of our favourite dining spots. Sorry guys YOU CAN DO BETTER.

Nice sea food, I go there everytime I am in Secunda.

Anytime I feel like seafood and sushi JDorys is my favorite place. I drive from Middelburg to Secunda mall jst for their dishes. JD doesn't disappoint. I gave u 4 stars bcs on my last visit,our food was warmish it got cold very quickly. Maybe they took long to bring our plates they were waiting for chips bcs thats d only meal that was hot in our plates but that wont discourage me from coming back again and again.

Second time now food either over prepared or frozen. Bones in the sushi. Took ages to get order. Wil not go there again.

Worst tempura prawn Thick layer of chewy ‘bread’ , very little prawn - also California rolls -a lot of rice with very little meat ! Makes for another chewy experience with very little taste Not sure if this is just the John Dory way or local problem . Must say waitress and management are sweet and apologised - but .. not a nice meal at all !

Delicious oysters and Divine sushi was a awesome dinner last night.

John Dory’s in Secunda is absolutely pathetic. We had to wait for over ten minutes to be seated. Once we were seated . We had to wait even longer for the waiter to come and take our drinks order . We ordered sushi and dumplings as well as wontons . The waiter told us there is no wontons but they do have everything else . Then about 20 mins later she comes back and says that there is no dumplings either. I asked the waiter where are all the other waiters and she said that they only have ONE waiter . Only one waiter that is ridiculous!!! We placed our order and the waiter got the order completely wrong . Part of our order was a kingklip thermidor which was completely raw and we had to send it back . At this point we asked to talk to the manager only to realise that the “waiter” who had taken our orders and who had mixed the orders up was the manager herself. The service is pathetic. John Dory’s has three managers on the floor and one waiter . The food and service is pathetic. And before someone from John Dory’s replies to my review by asking me for my contact information like you did with the previous reviews people have posted please don’t waste my time and feel free to post your excuse here on the Google review so everyone can read it . It is an open platform. No need to contact me privately.
