Did not have a good experience. We ordered 400g ribs, the ribs tasted okay, but was very dry. Almost not edible causing us to look to other restaurants when looking for good food.<br/>The restaurant was also very busy, the waiter did not even ask us whether everything was okay even once the evening. We struggled to get assistance and had to walk to one of the two waiters and almost grab them to get their attention and had to ask more than once to get their attention to give us the bill.<br/>When I told the waiter that the ribs were very dry, they simply said that they tell the kitchen staff that that every time.... <br/>I am too afraid to spend money there again as I love good too much to be this disappointed.<br/>Sorry for the review, I simply want to share my experience with management.<br/>Regards. Edit - After management invited us for a beter experience we tried the ribs again and it exceeded our expectation. The ribs was possibly the best ribs I've ever had, and so much meat on the bones. I will definitely enjoy more meals there. The service was excellent with plenty of privacy during our meal. Would adjust the rating from 2 stars to 5 stars, everything was perfect. Thumbs up to Wooden Spoon Bethlehem.

We have followed Duncan from Hartford House to this lovely spot in the Free State. It exceeded our expectations. The decor is classy and the food world class. The portions are generous. The flavors are all spot on. The is a must visit place.

Its about time for Bethlehem to get a nice fine dining experience. Food is good and service as well. Not sure about the "Boer" appetite to hold up in the food but for the people loving something new and different please go and check it out. Nice place for dinner and the food was good. Waiter not experienced. Took order for main course and left us with the empty starter plates still on the table. We ordered espetada and had to ask for more serviettes about three times. Worst was visiting the bathroom followed by a waitress also using the bathroom and she left without washing her hands. You would expect a waitress to know hygiene when visiting the bathroom. That was a turn off for me.

A perfect place to dine, drink and chill out. I enjoyed my visit there

Its ambiance, adorned with rustic wooden touches, warmly welcomes patrons. The staff is friendly and mostly on point with their service. While the majority of the menu offerings left me impressed, there was a slight room for improvement in a dish or two. All in all, it's a place I'd highly recommend, and I look forward to my next visit to experience more of what they have to offer.

Great food and amazing service also really well priced. Always eat here when I travel for work.

Food very average. Our waiter got our order for 3 of us totally wrong. Send back food and correct order came but steaks over cooked even though we requested medium and medium rare. We didn't send back a 2nd time but mentioned to the waiter our dissatisfaction. Sloppy service.

Went in and was welcomed by the bar staff. All seemed well. We then proceeded to speak to the manager/chef/owner and he boasted with his “fine foods” Ordered starters and were not impressed by the suggested dishes. Then ordered a 200g rump that took ages to come out. The steak was dry and overcooked. Im still waiting for the sauces that were somehow just forgotten. Then I couldn’t get the waiter/bar staffs attention to refill my drink as she was too busy with her own kids (at a bar). Then the bar-lady/waiter offered to deduct the bad steaks and sauces from the bill. The owner/manager/chef just went missing and could not come out to rectify the mess. Overall just a bad experience and would not recommend a visit.

I've been coming here for years(when I travel through on business).Food is amazing. Atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable. Hosts are the best. It's a real gem in the FS.

First of all. I never give a review, but for you guys I'll make an exception. The beef burger is the best I've ever had in my life. The service from Sibonelo is above expectations. Duncan ( the chef) greets you by hand. Pricing of the food is reasonable. In my books, this restaurant is the best in the country.

Read a few of the reviews and decided to go. Went in at the restaurant entrance and waited around for someone to seat us, didn't happen so we went through to the pub area to get someone's attention. First coice of meal wasn't available, so we had to change our order. Both of us had steak and it was cooked as requested bit the meat was full of sinew. Price for drinks also seems a bit over the top (R40 for a tomato juice). Didn't experience the warm atmosphere either. Wasn't the worst dining experience I've ever had, but expected much more after reading the reviews.

What a lovely atmosphere! The manager, chef and waiter were all very polite and regularly checked up on us. The steak was perfect (their specialty) and did not take long at all to prepare and serve. Definitely recommended!
