BLIKSEM. What an awesome place to stop for bite. Great food, Value for money and the service was super friendly. Family run place, and the play area looks so cool, I we were kids we would of jammed there.

The food must be the best in Bethlehem - always excellent (like really, really outstanding!) and always a superb experience all-round. An absolute must visit!

It's a very nice place. I have breakfast there and it was delicious. I was surprised, one of the manager can dance Latino American music. I had the privilege to dance bachata with her. South Africa is a Pandora Box

Had two hours to kill over lunch while on a once-off unplanned trip to Bethlehem and decided to take a chance on the Roadside Diner after seeing the interesting 3 vintage car installation which stands proudly on the property! What a pleasant surprise! The food was great, the service friendly and before we knew it our two hours were up and we had to resume our drive to back Johannesburg! Will definitely visit again if we are ever in Bethlehem again!

This place has a lot of character and charm not only with the decor but in the menu and the people who work here and the owners. We had nice waiters, always ready to bring us anything we asked for, and the owners gave us lots of recommendations for our trip to the Cape. So friendly! We felt like family by the time we left. We just had dessert and coffees but the cheesecake was delicious and the latte with cold milk that I weirdly ordered was nice. Thanks to the waiter who fought through his fear to make that for me 😁

A quirky little restaurant with lots of small town charm. The Dukkah Eggs were delicious, the pesto was super yummy. The toasted sandwiches and burger were also nice. The highlight of the meal though was definitely the cake. We tried the triple-threat chocolate, cheesecake and mousse cake which was one of the best cakes I’ve ever tasted. The owner was also lovely and accommodating. Would definitely recommend as a stopover breakfast spot.

This is absolutely a wow place. When you visit the Roadside Diner, near Bethlehem, go to the Trading Post, take a trip down memory lane. The food was next level yummy. The atmosphere is excellent, great service, and absolutely brilliant staff.

Breakfast is wonderful. There are a lot of jams, preserves and preserves that you won't find in the city. Forget any type of diet and just enjoy.

We just had to stop again, en route from the Cape back to Durban. We last stopped here in August 2021. The food is still amazing and good value for money. Staff are super efficient and friendly!! Love the decor inside and outside. Will always recommend this venue!!

Stopped here by chance and WOW!! Food was incredible - we had the “Burnt Ends”. The lady and staff were so friendly and the place is really something to see, their baked goods are also very good! Will be back!

Went this past weekend , stopped on our way to Clarens. The staff were so friendly, welcoming, informative and helpful even when I had arranged my booking earlier in the week. Absolutely loved the presentation of the food (breakfast and drinks) it was so unique and classy , it was delicious . And there’s some really cute vintage items to buy and walk around to see !

The Roadside Diner is a MUST STOP! (We’ve been there before). Absolutely stunning Vintage / Paris décor. A family-owned business for years! (They only have accommodation at the back – Loch Athlone accommodation). They support local businesses with the most divine products!! Lovely mugs, ‘granadilla pearls’ for your tea or cold drinks, yellow fat biltong, sweets, jams, chilli sauces and the MOST INTRIGUING FLAVORED RUSKS!!! Candy floss rusks, Rum & Raisin rusks (we’ve bought this (R60) and divine!), Peppermint crisp rusks, Strawberry pops rusks, Caramel popcorn rusks, Bourbon butterscotch rusks, Tiramisu rusks, Smarties rusks, Berry splash rusks, Lemon cake rusks, Hertzoggies rusks, Orange & choc rusks, Hazelnut coffee rusks, Ginger delight rusks, Cream soda rusks and more … What I absolutely love about the rusks … they packaged 6 rusks, but not 6 together – 2 in a smaller package. Brunch for me was Canadian Poutine (chips smothered in gravy and 3 cheeses) and Hein had the Roadside breakfast (eggs, bacon, toast, sausages, tomato.

A lovely place to dine. Beautifully decorated, welcoming and cosy. The staff are friendly, the host is an amazing person. The food is good. The flavoured lattes are the best. I had a rose latte. Will go back again anytime.

Amazing stop with delicious breakfast and cool design. Dog friendly, too! Lovely salmon Rosti dish with perfectly poached eggs. Bernaise a tad bit on the heavier side but very tasty. French toast was excellent and we had it without the honey drizzle so the sweetness came from the berries which if they were sweetened were only lightly so! Perfect for us Bc overly sweet french toast isn’t our favorite. And a neat dish was the Dukkah eggs. The bread at the bottom was full of nuts. And the cherry on top: the lovely chat in Russian with Bukin! The daughter in law:) a touch of Central Asian hospitality in South Africa😍

Very friendly staff, love the vibe and atmosphere. But there is a slight problem. I asked for a spicy nacho bowl but the nachos I got were very tame... like seriously bros when I say I'm from Durban that means I eat volcanoes for breakfast
