Excellent food, good value meals that don't compromise on quality. One of the best burgers you can have. Even the vegetarian quiche was mouth watering. The accompanying salad was a full meal on its own. The service by Patric was superb. Very novel way to bring you the bill in Old cigarette tins. Also on the wall an advert painted on tin that has a reference to the old South Africa which could belong in the Apartheid museum. Unfortunately, not user friendly if you get caught in torrential rain, unless you manage to go inside quickly.

Thank you specifically to the waiters, James, Patric and Zacharias who have attended to us when we either had breakfast or lunch at the Artist's Cafe in Clarens. We all want to thank James for assisting us when my husband called for pap and sauce for our braai. As we stayed in a self catering accommodation. I can recommend the Artist's Cafe to anyone travelling to Clarens.

Absolutely loved the place! The food was great we had the best lunch, took a piece of cake home and had very good breakfast the day after. They have a lot of choice on the menu and everything we had was absolutely delicious.

Perhaps it was what we ordered..... But our experience was very different from some of the reviews posted here. Service was non existent, we ordered a simple Roosterkoek each, size was ample but it felt like we were eating dry bark, no sauce, very bland and dry, perhaps other items are better but based on the terrible service, we will not be back, very disappointing.

The quality of the Take Away food was truly disappointing. The frozen schnitzels were baked too long. Cardboard. Sad salad.

Staff of this establishment are slow to serve. Being on holiday having a bad experience is the last thing anyone wants! On the way out trying to let them know that there are things they must pay attention to the owner says that if we had a problem with the food we must not eat or drink it. Here a note to this rude owner. If you are on holiday and service is so slow and you eventually get food you eat it because you can’t see how it can be fixed without taking another long time.

Would have rated this establishment lower if it were possible. I was at the restaurant on 08/01/2024. My wife, 2 kids and I drove around and what caught our eye was the sign that stated "family restaurant" so we decided to have our lunch here. Barely 5 minutes seated, there were some kids throwing stones whilst playing. A stone had struck my daughter's arm and hurt her. Understanding that they were kids, we somewhat tolerated it, however, the stone throwing continued. We requested our waiter to address this with the kids parents, to which he went to the restaurant manager. The managers response, which was quite abrupt and rude, was that he cannot do anything about it because he cannot tell other parents how to raise their children. No one said he needed to do that. I politely responded and said that we do not want to be confrontational with the kids parents and that surely it's his duty to put a stop to this. All the manager had to do was put a stop to wreckless behaviour that could endanger other patrons, othe kids on the playground or even pedestrians walking past. My question is.....is this an acceptable practice at your establishment? To sit there with the possibility of having an eye taken out, or a stone being thrown into your meal? We left without ordering.

Our breakfast was absolutely devine!! Best cappuccino in Clarens by far! A must visit in Clarens!
