1. They have no head chef 2. The only good food here is the pizza and the fries 3. The menu is very bland, I asked for a couple starters and they weren’t available 4. They only had two options for cocktails and claimed no stock due to long weekend ?? You know it’s the long weekend, why not stock up ? 5. Can I please give the establishment a good recipe for bread ? The burger buns and sandwich bread had no taste whatsoever 6. Overall impression : 2/5

Immediately, no. If you stay at Kiara Lodge, you rather do the 14 km drive to the town to dine there than eating at Maluti Melt. The food is ABSOLUTELY BLAND. It's like they don't use salt or seasoning. The chicken is NEVER SEASONED so you're basically eating boiled chicken thrown into a meal. They make a corn bread and serve you that for breakfast - its horrible. Why can't we get normal bread everyday? They are always running out of ingredients or stock, like most days they said they dont have normal bread. My husband and I were disappointed with every single meal we had, and we really hoped that it would improve as each day passed but we were so wrong! When you walk in there's no host/hostess to assist. You basically find a table and then hope a waiter/waitress notices you. Pizza's are unavailable at a certain time because the lady goes out for lunch and only returns at 5pm. The pizza was horrible in any event. The only good thing was the cappuccinos and the service we received from Theo and Palama. Theo was amazing! He even noticed our breakfast pattern and already had our table ready for us when he saw us walk in and he just knew what drinks we were going to order. It was a shame that we did not get to see him on our last day and therefore we had terrible service for that day. Theo's service was definitely 5 star and I must note that separate from the other service we received at the restaurant. Maluti Melt is definitely a thumbs down for a place to dine.

Wonderful tranquil restaurant with seating inside and on a covered stoep, lovely atmosphere, service excellent. They serve breakfast, pizzas and even a fondue, as well as various meat dishes and nutritious salads. We particularly enjoyed the good bean-to-cup coffees made with love. Their apple crumble pie with ice-cream was just like mama made it! Delicious.

- Over priced, even compared to Clarens. - Service was non existent, we felt totally overlooked. After we got our seats we waited for 10-15mins before a waiter eventually approached us, we were 1 of 4 tables currently occupied in the venue so it wasn't even rush hour. - Waiter didn't know their menu. - The atmosphere was pleasant and relaxing. - Food was prepared in an acceptable timeframe.

Lovely views, serenity and cute bunnies all over the place. Kiara Lodge is equally suitable for those seeking rest and those leaning more towards adventure. With a long list of actives to choose from, everyday can be exciting. Do yourselves a solid and go visit today!! Just check the weather first :)

Visited the lodge as as group of 16 and Pre booked for dinner with specified food. On arrival we placed order and Wer told food is out and we should order wat is available. Ok we compromise then drinks came 40min. Then food 1 and half hours later. It's bad. But food was nice and Palama tried to push the kitchen but it was just too slow. Kitchen need to improve the place was not busy.

Food can be improved. Waiters can know their options better. AMBIENCE so lovely could be matched with the dishes

Please pick up on the avo beacon and feta toast - "cooked " beacon nor crispy a small pice of feta and avo no butter or spead on dry bread really not nice - I am very disappointed - the service was good and the settings

Regrettable experience! We waited 10 minutes for a menu despite being 1 of 2 tables in the restaurant. The food was bland and tasted old. My dish -garlic butter prawns, was oily and the prawns were old, mushy and extremely fishy- I could not eat any of it for fear of getting sick. When I communicated this to the server and manager, nothing was done and I was still expected to pay the full amount despite only eating the side of baked potato. Do not waste your money, worst experience!!!

Was highly recommended...the waiter with longish hair, dreadlocks was very helpful and friendly...the owner/manager acknowledged us and was very efficient ...food was luvley...pizzas tasty...good atmosphere and good music

Great food, friendly staff, and plentiful portions. Would highly recommend. We got the fondue for 4, with meats, and dessert fondue. Overall excellent experience. Would come again is near the area. Clean restaurant with relaxing vibes. Part of a lodge, reservation recommended (essential).

Great holiday destination. Cottages are clean and very spacious only problem are the beds. They are very hard to the point that they are very uncomfortable.

This place is just so like warm and comfy when you step into the doors. the waiters are everything and make you laugh...and so are the managers which is awesome that they are involved and the food Is everything but there aren't really that many to choose from. But overall it is the best

The decor was beautiful, exceptional service, great food. I think the menu could have better choices, but what we got was worth it.
