Not sure if the church is still in use in the classical way: people were having coffee, someone came out with a bike, people were just sitting there… very cosy. I went to see the plaque of James Parkinson in honour of my father.

I love to take a stroll through the graveyard with a coffee in the morning. It's a wonderful reminder that death is inevitable to us all, particularly on days you might be feeling more invincible than normal.

Giving it 5 stars as I'm worried so many churches in London are being transformed to apartments and this one could use a bit of paint. So I entered to chip in, despite I'm not religious. Small green area, nice as a meeting point for a Shoreditch trip and close to Sunday flower market.

One of London's finest Georgian churches - it rather hides its considerable size behind the huge trees in its churchyard, so the sheer scale & solemnity of the interior comes as a bit of a surprise! Really magnificent, though attractively 'battered' by the last 2 & a half centuries of use. Clearly, there must have been plenty of money in 18th century Shoreditch to pay for such an ambitious building - it's superb!

St Leonard's Church Shoreditch (often just referred to as Shoreditch Church) is a Christian place of worship of the Church of England. It was built in 1740. It is a local landmark notable for it's 192 foot tall steeple, it's classically inspired design and pale stone coloured cladding which makes it stand out from its (now) trendy surroundings. It completed a major renovation project in 2020 with money from the National Lottery Heritage Fund. In order to limit the spread of COVID-19 and in compliance with the latest government restrictions it is currently closed. It isn't clear when it will reopen but when it does I encourage a visit to see the interior of the Church and outside without the scaffolding erected for the renovations.

Tower Bridge is a combined bascule and suspension bridge in London, built between 1886 and 1894. The bridge crosses the River Thames close to the Tower of London and has become a world-famous symbol of London. As a result, it is sometimes confused with London Bridge, about half a mile (0.8 km) upstream. Tower Bridge is one of five London bridges owned and maintained by the Bridge House Estates, a charitable trust overseen by the City of London Corporation. It is the only one of the trust's bridges not to connect the City of London directly to the Southwark bank, as its northern landfall is in Tower Hamlets.

Iconic is one way to describe Londons' Tower Bridge but there's something about this place that makes it a bridge like no other. The bridge was built in Victorian times (finished in 1894). It's not the oldest suspension bridge but the amount of movies and publications it appears in make it one of the most famous bridges in the World. If I had to choose first place for most recognised bridges it would be Tower Bridge and sanfransicco golden gate bridge. Tower Bridge spans across the River Thames and is right next door to the Tower of London. So if you are visiting Londons' Tower then you might as well take the time to cross Tower Bridge at the same time.

One of the many landmarks that are to be seen in London. The towers design complements the Tower of London (which it leads to at one side) very well. There are lots of other sights to see around this area also – (The Tower of London, St Catherine’s Dock, the South Bank, Butlers Wharf etc.). You can check on their website when the timing of when it will be opening are.

(Translated by Google) London icon, it is one of the postcards of the city that gives you beautiful photos both day and night when it lights up. Easily accessible must-see next to the Tower of London, mesmerizing when you cross another bridge or stroll along the banks of the Thames. It is a drawbridge, an engineering prodigy of the time (late 19th century) that opens daily, although without pre-established hours. They say he gets up more than 1,000 times a year.

(Translated by Google) Tower Bridge (meaning in Turkish: Tower Bridge) is a two-story retractable bridge located on the River Thames in London, United Kingdom. Over the years, the British capital has connected traffic on both sides of the city on the river. It was named "Tower Bridge" because it is close to the Tower of London. Opened in 1894, the bridge is one of the most famous bascule bridges. The bridge consists of two horizontal walkways from a high level and two towers connected by a car from below.

Tower Bridge is one of the architectures defining London apart from the London eye, Big Ben ane Westminster. It is usually confused with the plain and simple London bridge, but the London bridge is just a normal bridge 1 kms downstream. The bridge is more than 100 years old and looks beautiful during the night when it is lighted with colourful lamps. The bridge opens once throughout the day, so you'll be lucky to catch it.

A landmark in London not to be missed. It’s quite an impressive architectural structure. It’s about 10 minutes walk from st.Paul’s cathedral and right next to the London tower. You can do a loop walk from st.Paul’s to London tower, cross the tower bridge then walk the south bank and cross the river back using the millennium bridge.

Nice view fromTower Bridge is a combined bascule and suspension bridge in London, built between 1886 and 1894. The bridge crosses the River Thames close to the Tower of London and has become a world-famous symbol of London. As a result, it is sometimes confused with London Bridge, about 0.5 miles (0.80 km) upstream. The bridge consists of two bridge towers tied together at the upper level by two horizontal walkways, designed to withstand the horizontal tension forces imposed by the suspended sections of the bridge on the landward sides of the towers. The vertical components of the forces in the suspended sections and the vertical reactions of the two walkways are carried by the two robust towers. The bascule pivots and operating machinery are housed in the base of each tower. The bridge deck is freely accessible to both vehicles and pedestrians, whereas the bridge's twin towers, high-level walkways and Victorian engine rooms form part of the Tower Bridge Exhibition, for which an admission charge is made. The nearest London Underground tube stations are Tower Hill on the Circle and District lines, London Bridge on the Jubilee and Northern lines and Bermondsey on the Jubilee line, and the nearest Docklands Light Railway station is Tower Gateway.[1] The nearest National Rail stations are at Fenchurch Street and London Bridge. top of the bridge In the second half of the 19th century, increased commercial development in the East End of London led to demands for a new river crossing downstream of London Bridge. A traditional fixed bridge at street level could not be built because it would cut off access by sailing ships to the port facilities in the Pool of London, between London Bridge and the Tower of London. A Special Bridge or Subway Committee was formed in 1877, chaired by Sir Albert Joseph Altman, to find a solution.[3] More than fifty designs were submitted, including one from civil engineer Sir Joseph Bazalgette, which was rejected because of a lack of sufficient headroom. A design was not approved until 1884, when it was decided to build a bascule bridge.[2][4] Sir John Wolfe Barry was appointed engineer and Sir Horace Jones the architect (who was also one of the judges).[5][6] An Act of Parliament was passed in 1885 authorising the bridge's construction. It specified the opening span must give a clear width of 200 feet (61 m) and a headroom of 135 feet (41 m). Construction had to be in a Gothic style. Barry designed a bridge with two bridge towers built on piers. The central span was split into two equal bascules or leaves, which could be raised to allow river traffic to pass. The two side-spans were suspension bridges, with rods anchored both at the abutments and through rods contained in the bridge's upper walkways.[5] Construction started in 1886 and took eight years with five major contractors – Sir John Jackson (foundations), Baron Armstrong (hydraulics), William Webster, Sir H.H. Bartlett, and Sir William Arrol & Co.[7] – and employed 432 construction workers. E W Crutwell was the resident engineer for the construction.[8] The first stone was laid by Albert, Prince of Wales.[5]
