The food here is pretty good, actually. Nothing amazing, but it hits the spot. It's probably too expensive - 17-19 euros for fish and chips. I learned that they don't include side salad and peas with their fish and chips, which is disappointing too. Though the food was good, service was not. Nobody checked up on our table to ask how everything was. This was necessary, as I wanted another drink. I waited 15-minutes more, and only then had the opportunity to make the request. I'll probably come back, but perhaps improve the service - and re-add the side salad and peas back to the fish and chips portion, and that might improve things back to where they need to be.

A fabulous seafood chowder with Irish butter and brown soda bread is a perfect classic combination. A big delicious Irish steak burger always fills the tummy 😉 Ending with a pot of tea and as a choice of home made apple crumble 😜 I also like the classic style kettles. The waitresses are professionals and very polite. The atmosphere surrounding the aquariums is peaceful. I highly recommend this place !

My family and I have been going here for many years when we visit the city centre. My sister and myself were looking forward to the fish and chips all day. We noticed that they didn't come with any salad or mushy peas. I did ask about this and was informed they no longer came with them as customers didnt want them? However, if we wanted them we could purchase them at an extra cost!! The fish and chips were €19 to begin with. This is a big let down. Ps there was also a big menu change..... not too sure I would go back in a hurry.

Kingfisher’s location is wonderful since being situated at Parnell Street means the likes of the GPO and Stephen’s Green are within short walking distance plus it’s near Luas stops too. For lunch, we decided to sit at their outdoor area which had a buzzing, lively atmosphere. For lunch, we decided to order their fish and chips which came out wonderfully. The fish had a light, crispy batter which was lightly browned and went well with the well-cooked, flaky, succulent fish. I love how they kept the skin as it gave the fish a bit more flavour and helped with the texture too. The chips were excellent and were good examples of what chipper chips would be like. We ordered their Kingfisher lager too. As someone who usually goes for spirits and wine, I tried their Kingfisher Lager and thought it was tasty and refreshing. Our only issue with Kingfisher at the time was the speed of service. It was difficult to get the attention of members of the waiting staff. Normally, a waiter also checks in on diners if everything is OK after getting served their food but it didn’t happen to us during our previous visit. Overall, we were happy with Kingfisher and we’d definitely pay them a visit again.

They boast the best fish and chips in Dublin, whilst I would not want to take sides, it was certainly on a par with any I have tasted previously. A good size piece of cod; a hefty portion of chips plus mushy peas and tartare sauce. Without sight of the portions I made the error of ordering a side dish of onion rings, which turned out to be more like battered rings of Saturn. It was all too good to leave and, washed down with a pint of Murphy's I managed, after a struggle, to finish it all. All excellent as was the service.

We visited here because we were told they have the best fish and chips. The fish and chips were fine, but didn’t seem like there was anything about them that made them the “best”. We really enjoyed the burger, it was nice and juicy. For dessert, I got a brownie and I really enjoyed that. The service was also good and sitting outside was nice. The outdoor seating is in a covered area.

Nice to get great fish and chips at very reasonable prices. The house white wine by the glass is excellent. Service is very quick. Well done.

They were very kind to us and the food was delicious. Definitely one of the best fish and chips that I've tasted in Ireland

The fish & chips dish was delicious, and I highly suggest it. The waiter was very cheerful and she highly recommended the dessert but we were in a hurry. Next time we will order dessert with the food.

Most of the staff are lovely warm and friendly. The few unhelpful restaurant staff make me not want to go back. The takeaway staff are completely opposite of the restaurant staff, and a pleasure to talk to. I'd recommended the takeaway any day.

I went with some friends for a lunch at this restaurant. We had lasagna, very pleasant quality for the price range. Also, we got two meals "for kids" cause some of my friends weren't that hungry. Recommend it if you are on a low budget.

Big fan of the Kingfisher Dublin and also the Dundalk restaurant. 1st time back since lockdown, food is better than ever. Service really quick. Hotels and restaurants in Dublin need to look how it's done, proper fish, proper batter, proper chips and proper desserts. Dublin is awash with places serving overpriced frozen food to tourists. If your in Dublin and want good honest food, Kingfisher the place to go.

Fantastic, fresh food at very reasonable prices. I had the smoked coley and proper chips, the best chips I have eaten in a long time. One daughter had fish and chips, huge portions, the other daughter had a beef burger with bacon and cheese, delicious and granddaughter had chicken nuggets followed by jelly and ice cream. We also had a portion of light and crispy onion rings. Service was great and very efficient cleaning and sanitising in evidence. It was my first visit but definitely won't be my last!!

Staff were absolutely lovely, I think the waitress name was Gabbie (sorry could be wrong!) but from start to finish service and food was 10/10! Food was so fresh, full of flavour. We had the Scampi, fresh cod & chips and the chicken peri peri burger.

Great food, top notch service. The fish and chips were the best we have had. A huge fish laid on our plate. The chowder also was the best we have had. And of course the bread pudding was excellent. Also they do not tap Guinness, a local brand just as good. Go there

I saw the sign "Best fish and chips in Dublin" so because I love really good fish and chips, I popped in for lunch. I was served by Gabriella, what an asset to the restaurant!! I ordered my fish and chips and an extra piece of fish, but she told me that I wouldn't need an extra piece because their fish fillets were big...boy was she right, u hardly finnished my fish and the chips were made 'proper', not oily bits of potato, they were delicious. The pricees are very fair and the service very friendly. There was a group of elderly gentlemen that came in as I was leaving and the way Gabriella seated them with humour and compassion was lovely to see. I will visit again soon.

Experiences range between unacceptable and great. On, average we had an OK time. One of the servers was great, one if them was awkward enough to drop multiple things during our visit, including a portion of the contents of one of the plates. Then pretended nothing happened... Understand staffing is hard but no skills is no skills. The fresh fish was great, chips were poor. Family run is also completely not true. Nothing against an international staff but claiming this is family business is a falsehood. No reason to avoid the place but will not live up to claims they make either.

I have stayed at the Kingfisher B&B different times for the past 25 years and I have always had a great stay. Rooms were clean and had everything I could ask for and a great price. The locations is perfect especially if you are visiting Dublin, the top of O'Connell street and walking distance to most of city centre. Don't forget the top notch Irish breakfast downstair too! Great place all around.

Great spot to sit and eat. Atmosphere was nice to sit and chat. Had the all day breakfast. Absolutely perfect and I'm very fussy about hygiene and what I eat. Would recommend

Had the worst experience ever. Half of the food ordered was inedible, when asked to change it we were laughed at by the staff. When asked to change the order we were told no, and laughed at again. Child had to wait almost 10 minutes for their dessert. Staff ignored requests for water, were intentionally rude. Emailed a complaint to the manager and was told lies in return about how wonderful their staff and food is. Wonderful staff doesn't laugh at a customer, and wonderful food doesn't give someone food poisoning. AVOID AVOID AVOID. Edit: CCTV showed exactly what I stated in my email to the manager, which the manager confirmed via email. Now in her response she is claiming I lied. CCTV also does not pick up the conversation we had where we thought the food was awful. The manager scoffed at our mention of food poisoning, but we have a bill from the hospital to prove what we were there for. Others have mentioned the same issue at this restaurant in recent years, clearly nothing has changed. The manager still would rather support their rude staff that laughed at us when we asked multiple times for a replacement order for the awful salad (which had ACTUAL RAW salmon, not smoked as she claimed so condescendingly. It was not a member of my party who refused a change, it was the staff who bluntly told us NO. This was expressed to the manager twice via email, yet she is still here claiming otherwise. Not once have we even received an apology for our horrible experience. It's obvious that the manager cares more about how she looks, than how her customers feel dining there. Abysmal. This is a reflection on the manager completely.

Very disappointing experience. Ordered fish and chips (& water, which never came), waited nearly an hour—with numerous servers walking past me without saying a word—before asking a different server about my order. Was then told the person who took my order had forgotten about it(?) The chips were average, fish was horrible to the extent that I could only eat about half of it, and dessert was nice. Ended up being charged the full amount. Would’ve appreciated a discount given the extremely long wait and subpar food. Maybe me being young had something to do with it(?)

Tunes are classic, food is classic, service is classic, a glimpse into a by gone era of Beautiful Dublin, when fish and chips was in the top. 5 foods on Irish peoples dinners, fantastic spot, not a single issue what so ever, miss it already ☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️

Used this place a few years ago and loved it. Then there was a fire and they rebuilt. Looks more or less the same inside but the food isn't as good

Great fish. Great chips worst mushy peas ever. Feel totally betrayed . I would say it left a sour taste . But there just wasn't enough to taste . More paste than pea.

Irish family business in heart of Parnell street, best place to try Irish breakfast and fresh catch fish & Chips, Dine-in or take away available. Got Take away today Fresh cod and fish Goujons, order took nearly 20 mins but it’s worth of your time. If you are new to town or visitor try kingfisher fresh chipper much recommend.🐟🐠🎣⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My hubby and I went in for a lunch. He had the all day breakfast it was awful the bacon is advertised as juicy and succulent it was like cardboard. The pudding was burned and the food flavourless the only saving grace is the Chips (which were minimal). I had goujons and Chips and the chicken coating had a funny taste and again Chips was all that were any good. I used to love eating here and we will never go back again.

Amazing fish n chips right in the center of the city. We also tried their fried shrimps which were also very well made. Very courteous staff. We will surely be coming back very soon.

Food was good but nothing very special ! The worst part was more than 30 minutes of time taken to serve food. Maybe it's under-staffed or something is wrong in the preparation team.

Room for April 2020 had to be cancelled due to Covid, which is fine. Refund was agreed. Refund was delayed due to hotel being closed, annoying but understandable with the situation. Hotel is now back open and they are ignoring my emails (for 6 weeks) about the refund, obviously hoping I would have forgotten about it. Absolute shambles!
