    Has Diego just given up?!?

Walked in to find it crowded well beyond any consideration of CoVID, not a mask I sight… My partner and I decided to sit outside.

We each ordered a mid-range main, both under $20, a coffee each, and each a small canned drink, I also ordered two of the rather large melting moment cookies to have with coffee… basically $65… after carefully looking over the menu a second time I realised that all sides were extra, so when the staff at the counter had asked if I wanted the chips or the salad with each, it wasn’t a choice of complimentary side as suggested, but a nice bit of scalping.

Coffee was unceremoniously dumped on the table with the courtesy of muttering the word “Coffee” at us, burnt and barely drinkable, and more than half an inch shy of full… then the melting moments a few moments later, both just tossed on a single saucer, I gave the saucer to my partner, and leant sideways over the sidewalk to keep the icing sugar off me… no napkins in sight…

Then the food came, while my partners slow cooked lamb sandwich was reasonable, however, napkins would have been nice… also cutlery!!! (I did find some after a moment, in an old tomato can on a nearby bench… I can’t remember which CoVID safe standard that is from though…) After making it just over a quarter through my burger, I felt the tase was just not right… this is when I noticed the beef was not just undercooked, but raw right through, it had vague grill marks on the edges, but was straight, cold, pink raw mince meat. (Photo’s on goggle)…

When I stood up with it to return, a waitress came out, and before even getting over to me, she asked “What’s wrong, it’s not cooked?” In a flat, over it voice, she then asked if I wanted it heated or ifI would like it replaced, I asked for my money back… she said, yep, ok… then walked in, and just handed me $20 from the till, this was clearly a regular part of the job… No apology, no comp for the rest of the meal, this was meant to be a nice celebration for my partner and I, it was an unpleasant disappointment, and an experience that left a foul test in the mouth in more than one way.

There is some lovely cafe’s nearby with brilliant food, and friendly service, in fact quite a few, check them out!!!

Very good coffee and Pastries are AMAZING. They also own a bakery down the road which is well worth a try too. Also very friendly service. A perfect stop over especially on a drive from Canberra to Sydney.

I will qualify this by stating that this may have been a bad day as the other reviews are pretty good. I ordered a pie and two sausage rolls with chips and salad for two meals and two coffees. Got the coffees and they brought a bowl of fries, not chips. We sat and watched whilst others turned up and were served before us. It was busy so I politely asked the girl at the counter if our order had been forgotten, it was. She then apologised and grabbed two sausage rolls and a pie from what I thought was a pie oven. They disappeared for about 10 minutes and a sausage roll and salad was brought to the table without the stated chips. Another sausage roll was brought out on its own and 10 minutes later a soggy pie was delivered. which I tried a bite of and left. It looks like you have the capacity to deliver good food guys but you missed that opportunity with us today. Not sure what went wrong and everyone has a bad day but there are many other places to spend money and I would be hard pressed to return. I dont like giving poor reviews but this is stuff you need to know.

I’m not sure why they took 27 minutes to prepare my quiche + salad. The quiche is already on display. I may have to assume they went to the mansion up the road to harvest the salad freshly. When i reminded the staff about the missing order, no apologies. When the food was served, the quiche was partly cold. It’s not even a peak hour, they were serving 2 tables when I arrived, and another 2-3 when I reminded them. So eat somewhere else. Not worth your time and money.

I liked the rustic look of the restaurant. It was also clean and organised. The food appeared slightly pricy but was well made. I had the eggs Benedict, I liked how they used crunchy bread.

Yesterday morning I went to the General sore and Cafe with my partner Gabriel and we really enjoyed it there... We ordered a beef pie, a sausage roll and a fantastic slice of homemade carrot cake.... One of the best cakes I've ever tried. The service was fast and attentive Every time I'll be going to Berrima this will be a must stop. Very good job guys See you next time

Lovely sunny street side cafe. Delicious, fluffy & fresh scones with cream and jam. Yummy quiches and cakes.

Perfect for a quick stopover on the drive from Sydney back to Melbourne. Great coffee and very friendly staff. Good selection of breakfast rolls and wraps which were heated and served quickly. Even made as delicious wrap to order for my wife. Eggs Benedict was delicious. Highly recommended!

This place has some amazing pies. We had the meat pie and the mushroom pie. The mushroom pie was out of the world. The pork sausage role was delicious too, a bit salty for my tasting. Besides the pies the lemon tart is to die for.

Breakfast - Brilliant and friendly service with awesome food ! I had a bacon and egg roll (BBQ sauce with gloriously runny egg yolk) and husband had cake. It was all stunning. Lemon meringue pie was divine. The service was friendly and the food came out quickly. Honestly can't wait to go back.
