Came here for a work dinner when I was in Sydney. We had the set menu and totally worth it. The end of the night we were so full. Highly recommended to book as they seem to be busy all the times.

Enjoyed a Tues night dinner here last week. Ambience, music, lighting and vibe is great at this restaurant. It was full with a variety of different people. A little on the loud side for convos but not too bad. Food was a little disappointing, and nothing out of the ordinary. Pita bread and dips were good but the meat and pots were a tad overdone for my liking. Service was great. Overall good experience and the price not too bad for the whole package.

There's no other reason to go to a Greek restaurant as a reluctant vegan than to be in the constant aroma of delicious grilled lamb and octopus. Now there's another reason turns out these guys can make a mean vegan banquet too. Fresh green salad, savoury spanakopita, delicious housemade pita and taters. It was a delight. The rice pudding really topped it off. Will definitely go back.

Amazing food, great service and met all my expectations and more. We went for lunch with a group of 4 and decided on choosing our own plates to share as opposed to the set menus. Happy with our decision as we got to taste every dish we wanted! We ordered 4 entrees, 1 salad, 1 side, 2 mains and 3 desserts, which was more than enough, but we ate it all! Highly recommend for anyone wanting a modern Greek feast. Will definitely be back again soon.

It may have been a cold windy wet summer night and that was definitely not felt as we sat outside (very noisy inside) for a group dinner. We ordered the share menu $75 and it was fabulous. The food was fresh, well paced, wine list on point and a feeling of being stuffed lasted a while! Service was friendly, did not feel ignored even though we were out alone and the smile always came with the food.

Last time I went here some pretentious waiter made me stand around for 40 minutes waiting for a table which was clear and set the whole time. Since the positive Covid-19 test, I doubt me or my friends will ever feel safe eating here again. I’m just glad this happened to a restaurant that deserves it. It’s funny how karma visits places that rate themselves so much that they think they can treat their customers like garbage.

As Lou Reed once sang "Go to the Apollo....Take a walk on the wild side". Its well worth it. Outstanding service and food. Best Greek food in Sydney. By a whole division.

Pita bread was excellent! Melt cheese was amazing. Lamb was reasonably good. Tried auzo for the first time, very exotic. Dessert was good. The price is very reasonable. I’ll go again to try the seafood! 😍

Had a lovely dinner last night celebrating two birthdays. It was the perfect venue for it! Our waitress was super friendly and attentive and the drinks were amazing as well. Everyone must try the pork and lamb dishes since it was just mine blowing! The venue itself had a great ambience, so lively despite the covid situation and awful weather. It was just so lovely to see people having a good time and enjoy themselves. The experience almost made us feel that covid never existed! We would love to come back soon and definitely will be recommending it to our friends and family! You guys did an amazing job last night and thank you much for looking after us!

Even though we were restricted to a 2 hour seating due to coronavirus restrictions, the staff made sure we got through all the group menu courses without feeling rushed. Will be back asap for a long lunch to enjoy more of their awesome wine list.

Went for the tasting 8 course selection with a couple bottles of don to wash it down.. Best cooked lamb I have ever had, and thats from a sheep farmer... Hats of to the staff and chef, in a clean chic industrial atmospheric setup with a marble bar.. bravo apollo... ducks nuts. ????

This was a fantastic dining experience. A nice cozy space with buzzing Saturday night vibes. The staff were lovely and attentive. The service was definitely on point. I highly recommend ordering The Full Greek set menu, which is priced at $70 per person. It’s a decent portioned set menu and it gives you a great insight into this restaurant’s cuisine. I will definitely be back again.

Worth it. Great vibe. Good staff / service. Decent wine list & good flavours. Not much a Greek lover - but their flavours did seem to work 🤙🏻

Decent Greek 🇬🇷 cuisine. We ordered set menu and additional alcohol. The amount is generous and I can give 4/5 on the taste. The place is always crowded with people and loud background music is put on. Environment a bit too noisy to have a chat with friends.

3.5-4/5 We had dinner here on Friday night and it was super packed by 6pm. It does get very loud and the lighting is quite dark ("mood lighting") so can be hard for conversations. Also very "cozy" (small and squishy). Drinks are good and the food is quite nice, the portions aren't huge so do keep in mind when ordering. They do have a time limit for seating which we almost went over. I do commend the wait staff for giving us our dessert literally 2min after we ordered as we had been told we only had 9min left to our table. My gripe is that our food did have a bit of wait time in between, and it would have been nice if we were introduced to the dish when being served.

Loved this Greek restaurant and it definitely didn't disappoint! I recommend getting a set menu as you can try a bit of everything (we got the $75pp. set menu between two and it was perfect and we even had leftovers)! The highlights for me was definitely the slow cooked lamb (so full of flavour), saganaki (just sizzling cheesiness) and roast potatoes.

The longevity of any great restaurant relies on consistent quality. Thank you to The Apollo. We always know it's going to be fabulous. And it always is!

  • 5/5 Andrew T. 2 years ago on Google
Bruh… I don’t know if it’s because I haven’t been out in a while, but this was some of the best Greek food I have ever eaten. The Saganaki was unbelievable (but who doesn’t love melted cheese). The lamb was also out of this planet. It’s funny though. It doesn’t sound that special when you read the menu, but it is. You don’t know it yet, but this will be a new favourite.

  • 5/5 Troy L. 2 years ago on Google
Attentive fabulous cheeky staff. Food tasted great. Intense flavors and were intense. The saganaki was so good ! The green peas were also to die for. I would go back again everyday ! This place is amazing ! The spritz cocktail will be replicated many times at my house.

Great food and lovely ambience. We opted for the “Full Greek” which was a great way to try a bit of everything. The lamb shoulder was delicious.

Greek food in a modern restaurant. Tasty and good service. Only tried vegetarian food as my friend did not want meat. Even as a meat lover, I had a good experience. The spinach and chees pie was really nice.

  • 3/5 Lisa B. 2 years ago on Google
The food was average, but what made a lasting impression was the waiter who literally hovered around us waiting to take last bites of food so he could clear the plates. Encouraged us to quickly "eat while it's hot", asking, "is anyone going to have the last piece?" too many times, made us feel very rushed and uncomfortable. If there is a seating window please let the table know when we sit down, or perhaps a gentle reminder when we have half an hour remaining so we don't feel like unwelcomed and pushed out.

We've been coming to The Apollo from almost the beginning. We love it here. Every time we go the food, drinks & service is always on point. Unless we are with friends we'll always opt to sit at the bar - that is where it's at. It really does feel you're in New York. The staff are amazing and always are so accomodating. We look forward to coming again in the very near future. Thank you for another terrific time.

Being of Greek background, it was interesting to see what the food was going to be like here. So many people have talked about it, and we decided to have one of our families birthdays here. Firstly, the service was superb. The service staff were very kind and friendly, always asking us if we needed anything. We had set menu , and it was great. The sagnaki with olive oil and honey tasted perfect. The salad was great just needed to have real kalamata olives. The calamari was one of the softest and most enjoyable We’ve had in ages. And then the lamb came out and that was brilliant. Soft straight off the bone just reminded us of home. They gave us a little birthday cake for us to celebrate the birthday which was lovely, and a great gesture. The desert didn’t last long. Everyone finished it in seconds. Will be back and totally recommend it.

Spectacular food, plentiful portions, fun and cool vibe, and friendly, smiling staff. Took my bestie here for her birthday, arranged a cocktail on arrival which was ready almost as soon as we sat down, great spot at the bar to people watch. I love Greece, it's my favourite holiday destination. Dining at The Apollo took me back there. Loved!

Super cool! Nice food, good services, and excellent atmosphere. Yesterday was my first visit. They even serviced a candle for our birthday girl😘 appreciated it

The set menu was more than enough food for two, great taste and value! Staff were friendly and accomodating too :) Just wish the seating options were improved especially having booked in advance, as we were placed in a high-traffic area where we were bumped about frequently by both staff and other patrons during our meal.

Top notch food + service + vibe. The vegan set menu was amaaaaazing (my meat eating companion had huge food envy 😂). Can’t wait to go back. 😍

greet vibes and customer service. the gentlemen who serve us tonight were truly informative and helped us with dish options. The food overall is good. but the special menu of the day (the pork) meat I received was noticeably hard and tough when I tried to cut into it, the texture remained chewy and difficult to bite through. It lacked the desired tenderness and juiciness that I expected. Other than that I would recommend the lemon pie, love it.

The Apollo I visited for the first time on Wednesday Eve 9/8/2023 I would recommend as the service on arrival was excellent. The food was delicious!, I ate too much! The atmosphere was comfortable. The wait staff relaxed & happy! Thank you Gordon Elder Potts Point NSW 2011 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Booked this restaurant based on the good reviews. Yes, definitely a good place to get great Greek food. We came for lunch and ordered a lunch special crumbed pork, Split Pea Dip with Chickpea & Oregano, Saganaki with Cheese Honey & Oregano and Octopus with Olives & Tomato. Our dessert was Avgolemono Pie and Sheep’s Milk Ice Cream with Yoghurt, Honey, Black Truffle & Baklava. Also had the Greek beers on the menu.

  • 4/5 Eunice D. 7 months ago on Google
Really enjoyed the pea dip and halloumi! Both very unique dishes and explosions of flavour. We ordered other dishes as well but would have appreciated more vegetarian items on the main menu! Otherwise, enjoyable for all eaters.

  • 5/5 Brian E. 6 months ago on Google
A very nice vibe...busy of course, but that is good to see. The menu was nicely varied and made it possible to have a scrumptious pre-theatre dinner that didn't hill us up to much. The provision of 500ml carafes was also appreciated as was the comprehensive wine list. something for everyone.

Been here once pre covid and recently second visit during Sept 2023; happy to say that the food, ambience and service is still as great!! Saganaki cheese, baked snapper, chicken, Greek salad, roast potatoes were well portioned and flavoured for 4 adults! Would recommend for special night outs

Ordered a little too much for 2 people because we wanted to try everything. No regrets though, we enjoyed every single dish and left feeling very satisfied. Service was friendly and attentive. My only complaint was that the music was quite loud. We had to raise our voices to talk to each other.

My favourite Greek in Sydney. Always bloody wonderful. It's great for a group as they have a great Banquet called "The Full Greek" which is great value and has all their highlight dishes. If you don't want to do the banquet please order the SAGANAKI CHEESE. It's the bomb!

Not sure it's the best food I've ever had but it was ideal for a late dinner after a night at the nearby Hayes Theatre. The smaller dishes looked more interesting and chose a couple of entree sizes. The vine leaf parcels were very good and the wild weed and cheese pie was filling but perhaps not as interesting as what Mike does at Kitchen By Mike. A touch of attitude comes with the service As everyone knows, bookings aren't taken so I wouldn't organise a large table at busy times; a lot easier arriving at 9.30 pm

  • 4/5 Chris M. 3 years ago on Google
A classic Greek restaurant. If you are still hungry you're not trying. Excellent standards and quality.

  • 3/5 Mai V. 4 years ago on Google
Food was delicious, as always. But the service on this particular night was terrible. The staff just ignored us until we had to ask to be served. I ordered wine but when it was brought out to me, it was put on the table with abruptly by the waiter. Then when it came for the time to pay, the eftpos machine was almost thrown at the table. I get the restaurant was busy on a Sunday night, irregardless, the service should always stay on top

The saganaki cheese!!! Epic. Deducting a point for the lamb, drier than expected and chewy. Excellent service. One of our party didn’t eat cucumber and they made sure they got a separate cucumber-less serving :)

Been to this place numerous time, love their food. Yesterday got take away for the first time to fulfil wife’s cravings but was very disappointed. Ordered the lamb (specifically because of the sauce as expressed over the phone) but it came without the sauce. Called up to complaint and got the ‘roast potatoes’ refunded not the lamb... The lamb was dry and without the sauce just tasted like an average lamb...

Days apart from trying their sister restaurant - Cho Cho San. Click into my profile for the review. For Apollo- a Greek food restaurant that has outdoor space. Sometimes I have concern if not getting enough attention / service for sitting outside, but it’s not the case for Apollo. I got enough attention. For fooddd, some dishes to highlight. The baked honey cheese- I had similar back in Hong Kong. But this one is even better. The baked cheese come out of the over on an hot plate and server will pull the honey on in front of you. You can see the honey sizzling. It has a very floral orange taste. King pawns - different than the Spanish tapas garlic pawns. It has a very crunchy shells. Just because I am asian, we eat all bits of the pawns, so I just ate the whole things. It was fried beautifully crispy, and allows you to eat the whole thing like chips. Quails - it was cooked perfectly which is hard to reach! Meat is still pink. It has a very subtle floral scent that come through. I can’t figure it out and asked the server. He said it was marinated with orange blossoms flower. Worth going back for some more!

I was told by many people that The Apollo is the best restaurant in Sydney so we gave it a try. We sat at the bar and received excellent service by the bartender there. The whole place had a great vibe but wasn’t so loud that you couldn’t hear each other. The food was excellent; tasty and really good quality. For two of us, we spent $200 on food and a bottle of wine and feel that was a very fair price. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and I will be back.
