Totally disappointed in the outcome of the surgery, Dr Sebban and his customer service! Wished I had searched further for a doctor to do the intraocular lens procedure, rather than relying on word of mouth. Firstly, join the queue of people that are in the waiting room to see him, which at worst for me was 2 hours past my appointment time, I eventually gave up and left. That was on my second post op visit. The ladies at reception and the ladies who do the eye measurements are great. I am now left in the situation of having to pay another surgeon, to correct my right eye vision.

I saw Dr Chen for my laser eye surgery. He is a lifechanger! It's been 7 weeks post surgery, and my vision is now better than 20/20 and eyes have fully recovered. I was blurry for about 3 weeks post surgery while I healed, and vision fluctuated during those 3 weeks but I can now say this surgery was one of the best things I have done. I can ditch my glasses and contacts for good. Appointments can run over (initial and follow ups) but surgery day ran like a well oiled machine. The care package for recovery with all the needed eye drops and medication helped by partner out during the days after surgery (I was in bed mostly asleep for 2-3 days after and it would be good to have someone help you for a few days not just the day of surgery). There is parking for $4 in the building which is great.

Had my eye PRK done by Docter Tony Chen and it was a amazing experience even though I do feel nervous at first. All staff and doctor Chen are very nice and friendly and they do give me those support that able to calm me down. Is been a month now since my surgery and I still can't believe it that I am free from glasses and contact lens. My previous vision short sighted is - 8.00 . I would like to add a second good review on today 03/05/2022. I just have my chalazion removed by Doctor Kenneth Ooi. Very very happy with the procedure and is almost painless. I thank Dr Sebban and the whole clinical team of Sydney Eye Clinic for helping me to see the world clearly again! I had very high Myopia from childhood. But after the surgery my eyesight is back to normal. I feel relieved not to wear glasses anymore. I was pretty nervous to get this surgery done and had put it off for a while but finally decided to make an appointment. The reception staff were all so lovely and helpful. Chris and Dr Chen were both so amazing through the initial consultation process and also on the day of the surgery. It was a crazy experience but the whole procedure was over so quickly and they were both so caring and comforting which made it seem so easy! The recovery process was pretty smooth I rested my eyes for the first few days and had help from my carer with the drops and medication. I feel like a whole new person now and I can’t believe how amazing it feels to not have to bother with contacts or glasses anymore!! I’m so happy and thankful to the Sydney Eye Clinic and would highly recommend them and their team.

I got PRK done here in December 2019 and am so happy with the results. I was previously -4 in both eyes and now have perfect vision. Recovery was smooth and the price was very reasonable (although be prepared for appointments to run quite late). I would definitely recommend if you are a suitable candidate for the procedure.

Disgusting service by the lady in the phone. Called on 16th February at 3:30pm and was spoken to so rudely and was treated like a child over the phone, rather then helping me answer my questions, I was consistently rudely interrupted. Might need to re-consider your customer service as I was trying to book in a treatment but thanks to your front desk, you just lost a potential customer. Disgusting.

Absolutely Fantastic experience!! had double prelex surgery, now I can see perfectly after 20yrs struggling with glasses. Dr Ilan was great and the hospital ran like clockwork. Very professional and an amazing outcome!! 😀 Well Done !!

Ruined my perfect closeup vision. Before the operation they assured me that my close up vision would remain perfect, but it is now blurry. I'm devistated. I can see in the distance better, but I now need reading glasses for computer and phone. When I raised this they just said 'oh, it's because of your age "... I'm in my 30s! Inhad specifically asked them before the operation, and they reassured me that it would be perfect. Add to this that every time I went I had to wait for at least an hour. Once I waited for 2 hours.

Had my PRK surgery in 2017 with Dr Siobhan (hope that’s how I spell it) amazing experience. He is so caring and did an amazing job. Would def recommend him to anyone.

I have had both my cataracts removed by Dr. Sabban. All staff at the Eye Clinic were very helpful polite . I cannot praise them enough. Made me feel very relaxed and answered all my queries . I would recommend this clinic to anyone who needs to have their cataracts removed

Did the laser on both eyes six months ago (I wanted to wait before giving my opinion) to fix my myopia (minus 3 and 4). Best decision of my life!!! Saw Dr Tony Chen for my TRANS-PRK. Wow. What a change. Memorable experience. A1! Nah, in all seriousness, Dr Chen is a consummate professional and explained the procedure and walked me through it.

(Review covers Pre surgery up to 5 days post surgery, 2 week check-up & 6 week check-up) The Sydney eye clinic came recommend from a friend who had the PRK surgery. Coming from almost interstate near QLD border, made me nervous but from first contact the clinic was helpful. Information was a bit light on but it was really in the last week before surgery that contact and information increased. The price of the clinic makes it quite populated yet from the very warm welcome at reception to each of the staff, I never felt hurried or uncared for. Dr Sebban was caring and left me feeling well heard and in good hands. The surgery was surreal, not painful...just surreal as you experience the unforgettable sensation and smell. The care packages and instructions were clear and for the most part I had a pain free and complication free experience. Watery eyes and the occasional gritty feeling didn't last with the addition of drops. After 3 days my eyes needed another day so I had to come back the next day. Though I was disappointed, over the next 24 hours I saw a remarkable difference in my vision and energy In my case it took me until Monday night to really have any ability to use my phone or navigate brightness. My process has been made immensely more peaceful having my church family care for me.. so shout out to my brothers and sisters in Jesus! You will need someone to help you through the first few days at least. I intend to do my follow-up checks back home but hopefully will have no complications. Writing this review as I sit waiting for my plane 5 days after surgery and seeing clear enough to navigate the nightmare that is sydney airport A big thank you to Dr Sebban, the super welcoming dude at reception and the lovely ladies who did the pre and post surgery tests...also anyone else present for the scorching (sorry, terrible with names) So far so good but will see what comes over the next 3 months. Gratefully, Steve Update 07/08/2023 Its been just under 6 weeks and everything has gone well My sensitivity to light has diminished by the day and feels relatively normal now. At my 2 week check-up I had some slight cloudiness still (which I barely noticed) which the optometrist expected would clear as the eye healed. After my 6 week check up , my vision is stable and the cloudiness has completely cleared and my eyes are healing consistently with no dry spots. As I assumed, my reading vision has reduced to accommodate the increase in my distance vision. My local optometrist, Darcy has been awesome (Shout out to Lamas & Brown in Wollongbar, Northern NSW) so my being almost interstate and not able to return to the Darlighurst Clinic has had no impact on my recovery. I'm coming from interstate VIC for transprk. initially contact was very limited. I didn't receive a confirmation of booking until a week before surgery. I booked 4 months prior. While the doctors were professional and the staff were friendly, there were a few challenges. Limited parking time spent in the clinicof over 4 hours ( mostly waiting) were notable inconveniences. Additionally, the prescribed medication dosage was too high, leading to nauscea and discomfort and overall unwellness. Despite these challenges, I must acknowledge the attentiveness and care provided by Optometrist Maggie during my follow-up appointment. She addressed my concerns and adjusted the medication dosage, which significantly improved my well-being during the recovery process. I also wanted to thank Gabriel, the receptionist who left a positive impression.

6 months post OP review: Highly recommend Dr Ilan Sebban for cataracts surgery. Everything was perfect from inital consultation to post op follow ups.

I had the Trans PRK procedure done 4 days ago. I chose this clinic after reading the reviews here and in various forums online. I did the initial assessment around a month ago just to be sure that I am qualified for the procedure. It was very straightforward and efficient. During the day of operation, it is necessary to do the initial assessment tests again. As for the actual surgery, I can't believe that the procedure itself is painless! It took around 3 hours from arrival to the last step. The first night was the worst since my eyes felt like burning but the medication helped a lot. Just be sure to rest, hydrate and follow the post-operation instructions. On the day of the first follow-up check-up, there was no pain at all but my vision is still a blurry(as expected). There were new instructions after that that shpuld be followed until the next check-up in 2 weeks time. Special thanks to Dr Sebban and the team in the Sydney Eye Clinic! They are very professional and efficient based from my experience.

Great clinic and such easy-going helpful staff all round. From a just over one week post PRK perspective; Smooth process from the free consult day right through to follow-up appointments. The Orthoptist was fantastic (Sorry, I'm bad with names, lady with dark curly hair), she explained everything thoroughly so I knew exactly what to expect and wasn't surprised my eyes were very sore night of the surgery. I'm very grateful for her care. Plenty of medication provided to cover the healing process and keep you well rested and calm for the first 24-48 hours. Dr Tony Chen is easygoing and helps you feel as relaxed as possible during a scary procedure. My distance vision is already much better than before, on and off blurriness, which is gradually becoming less and less as expected. My close-up vision has remained the same, with very minimal disruption from blurring. I would recommend Sydney Eye Clinic darlinghurst to friends, family, and anyone else thinking about laser eye correction. Also, turning on siri/ Hey, google comes in handy. Downloading some audio books and playlists is a great idea. I regretted not doing this....a lot.

Dr. Ilan and his entire staff are very knowledgeable, attentive and careful to your needs. He put the At lisa tri trifocal intraocular lenses on me and I am very satisfied. I wore glasses and I was fed up especially with my work as a handyman, they created problems for me. Dr. Ilan had prepared me by putting in front of me the advantages and possible problems. When these occurred (the dysphotopsias) he was present he reassured me, he was very patient with me, he revisited me several times and after only 6 months my brain has adapted and now I can also see very well night . Dr Sebban and his team perform pure miracles. In 2016 I was cyclops wearing either thick glasses or daily contact lens. Went in for refractive surgery (ASLA LASIK). Took a week off work but I could already see the next day. 5 years on now, I have NOT ONCE been inconvenienced by my eyes. Specs and contact wearers you know the inconvenience I'm talking about. In fact my vision is better than most people that it's too easy to take it for granted. I went from -4.5 in both eyes to +0.5 so I'm seeing better than cyclops himself. Goes without saying I highly recommend this. The best two grand I've ever invested, ever.

I had been wearing glasses and contact lenses for the last 40 years.I got a Bilateral Cataract Surgery with correction of vision done from Sydney Eye Clinic. Dr Sebban and his team are outstanding. They explained the procedure very well ,they were very efficient and friendly. I would highly recommend Dr Sebban and his team. I am very happy with the result and am very happy to say goodbye to my glasses.

I don't recommend any one to do eye laser treatment with doctor Ilan .I'm not happy with the result that they told me before the surgery for my right eye . Before the surgery he noticed that there was mistake in the right eye lens and he didn't fix it but he asked his assistant to do that and he didn't check behind his assistant. Now I still need glasses what a waste for money and time.

Dr Claire Ruan, Deb and the entire team at Sydney Eye Clinic are an amazing and professional bunch. From day one consultation, the PRK laser procedure and follow up, I felt super reassured the entire time. My recovery was quick, 2.5 days with eyes closed and Deb provided a step by step guide on appropriate post procedure management with the eye drops and medication. It's 2 weeks since the procedure and my vision is amazing 😀 I went whale watching from Kurnell headlands and was able to clearly watch the whales breach from very far distance. Feeling super blessed to have this procedure and no longer rely on contact lenses that always irritated and created dry eyes or eyeglasses that gave me headaches. Thank you, Jude 🥰

Very bad customer service from doctor and receptionist. I had an appointment for check up after the surgery, and it took me one hour waiting with calling all the other clients who had an appointment after me. I only recommend to see dr. Claire Ruan.
