Stayed here as a family of four, staff were very helpful and the hotel was lovely and clean. Fantastic that there was free parking and five minute walk to DLR. The room had a double bed, two single beds, bath with shower over the top. Breakfast was nice, all you can eat that the kids loved with plant based options for a cooked breakfast. I would definitely recommend this hotel if your going to Excel, 02 and into London.

Having stayed at many Premier Inn's over the years this has gone to be the worst that I've ever stayed in. We stayed here on one of the hottest days of the year in 2022 with temperatures hitting low to mid thirties. When we first walked into our room we were met with a room set up for a family of four (it was just 2 of us) not end of world just weird and a fan, which at first seemed odd as the room had air con. It quickly became obvious that the air con wasn't working. Back at reception they explained that there was an issue with the air con which they were working on but a large number of rooms were without. They were unable to move us because the hotel was full. Whilst I understand that the air con breaking is no one's fault it would have been nice to be provided this information at check-in and maybe provided some sort of compensation. Later on we went down for dinner and explained to the waitress that we were in a bit of a hurry as we had to catch a train to a gig. Unfortunately I didn't get her name but she couldn't have been any more helpful and we were in and out within 30 mins, she certainly seemed to be one of the few staff members that gave a dam. Fast forward to the next morning and we went down for breakfast and what a disaster that was. No pastry, no juice, no cups for tea or coffee. If you were after some fruit you had the choice of a banana or a banana. The only thing they did have was a cooked breakfast but even that was lackluster and soggy. Overall the worst Premier Inn I have stayed in, I certainly wouldn't recommend or be staying there again, there are plenty of other hotels nearby.

The room was basic but has all amenities you require and a comfortable bed. However I’ve been three times to this hotel and every time it is BOILING hot. The air conditioning barely works, and don’t even think about sitting in the restaurant, I’m surprised it’s even legal for the staff to work in that heat. And this was in winter! God knows why Premier Inn feel it necessary to spend so much on heating given the cost of energy/environmental impact.

Stayed here due to event we were working at the Excel. It was the first time staying here and won’t come back due to these reasons: - Receptionist on check in interrogated us on the amount of ‘people’ staying in the room. As we had a lot of suitcases that contained items to sell at the event that we didn’t want to risk being in the car, we booked a family room for the extra space to keep things safe. Staff should not assume that the amount of suitcases equals the amount of people trying to stay and twist the conversation in the process. We’ve not had issues before booking a family room to guarantee space and be questioned about it. We had paid for the room, we should be able to use the room as we need it. -The room we had smelt damp. It was first indicated in the hallway and then when we opened the door to the room it hit us. Due to travelling we were so tired and with the receptionist giving us grief on check in, we just wanted to get everything sorted and rest up. In the family room you have a double bed, a pull out mattress under the double, and a second single bed by the wall. For some reason the single bed’s pillows and duvet felt really cold and damp but we took that as the window was left open when we came in. -On the second night of staying, that morning I had woken up with a horrendous headache and sickness. We also noticed that any clothes we left out + the single bed duvet was still damp. We then pulled out the single bed away from the wall to find that there was mildew built up at the base of the wall, the back of the bed had mold and the back of the curtains also had mold. As we really couldn’t afford to go through the hassle of complaining and asking to be moved we just stuck with it but kept all our things away from the damp wall and single bed. Technically this room was unfit for purpose and a health risk. To add, as we were on the ground floor, our room faced the side footpath + there was wet garden area under the window which may have contributed to the dampness in the room. We also couldn’t understand why there was a vent near the top of the wall and then another near the bottom? Is this to prevent damp build up? Felt it was encouraging it more. -The window to get fresh air wouldn’t close so had to keep the second slide window closed all the time. Didn’t feel secure and as we couldn’t shut it properly we heard people walking past really loud (especially early hours of the morning) -Air con was rubbish, and if you wanted heat it spat out dust instead which indicates the filters hadn’t been cleaned properly and likely for a while. -For 2 people staying in a room we only got given 1 towel. Also due to the cleaning ‘requests’ you had to do each day, we asked for new towels each evening after working our event. There was no point in cleaning the room as we had all our stuff everywhere away from the damp wall so cleaning staff wouldn’t be able to do a compete clean (whether they were likely to do it anyway) -Bathroom extractor didn’t seem to work properly. This added to the dampness in the room already which didn’t help the situation. Also the bathroom door didn’t close properly unless you slammed it, yet a sign was on the door to say you needed to close it otherwise the shower steam could set off the fire alarm. The positives: -Close to the Excel so it was ideal for us getting to and from the venue. -DLR station is also nearby. -Close to a nice pub around the corner and a Chinese restaurant by the water Would not recommend and probably stay elsewhere in the area next time we work an event at the Excel.

Would have given 5 stars all round but knocked it down due to the air conditioning unit in the bedroom not working very well. Fortunately was able to open the window to allow some air in. Convenient location close to London City Airport, Excel, Docklands Light Railway. Very quiet, staff were friendly, food (both dinner and breakfast) was hot. Drinks selection at the bar not great. Would I stay there again? Yes!

We had a satisfactory stay in this hotel. As others have said there was an issue with the Air con when we first went in the room, which was quickly rectified when this was politely raised with reception. Also the car parking was free which was a bonus for London, but although there is ample spaces, it gets filled up very quickly so its a bit of hit and miss if you will find any parking. Breakfast was the usual Premier inn selection which was not bad, with all considered I would not hesitate to use this hotel again.

A delightful hotel close to Victoria Station and cable car rides. The breakfast is excellent and full of delicious choices. The rooms are comfy and quite quiet. I advise coming early to breakfast. As it gets closer to the end items run out but that should be expected. This hotel has made the difference for my stay in London.

Stayed for one night due to an event at the Excel Centre. I was very pleasantly surprised with the standard of my stay here. I upgraded to the premier room which included tea bags, coffee capsules, 2 little chocolates and good wifi. The Bayliss&Harding hand and body wash had a great smell. The room was clean and modern. There was a very friendly lady during check-in. I would definitely stay here again - great value for money.

Room was not clean. Two lifts out of order with only one working. Breakfast was very basic and tasted disgusting. The restaurant staff at breakfast time turn the coffee machine off 20 minutes before the end of breakfast even though there are still people in the restaurant and then start hovering around you whilst your eating trying to make you feel uncomfortable so you leave the restaurant early so they can then clear your table. One of the restaurant managers was very rude and look at me like a bit of dirt when I politely asked her if the coffee machine has normal milk back as the day before it only had soya milk. The restaurant was like a building site with big holes in the ceilings in many areas with plastic sheets covering over them. Next to the hot food station there was another hole in the ceiling with like a hose pipe coming out of the ceiling dropping down into a bucket. It was so off putting. Most establishments would close there restaurants during building works... Not this place. Making as much money as possible clearly takes priority over customer experiences. On checkout morning I could barely get out of my room door as the cleaners had left the laundry trolley covering my door knowing that we were still in the room as they would of heard us getting ready to leave and my kids talking. A general unfriendly attitude from the majority of the staff at this hotel throughout my stay. Great location for being close to the DLR station and Exel centre and just across the water from the 02 arena. Previously stayed at the ibis on the Docklands with no issues at all and a much nicer hotel. So if your looking for a hotel around this area I would recommend Ibis.

Room was good, spacious and clean. Good location for Excel centre and easy to get to. Disappointed that restaurant was not open and only told about night before plus 2 out of 3 lift out of order as well which for such a large Premier Inn is not satisfactory.

The room was ok, although having a twin room, it would have been nice to have 2 towels. Wanted to check in slightly early, but this then cost an extra £10 - even though the room was already done. Lots of people therefore sat in reception until 3pm and then there's a huge queue for check-in. Just basically money grabbing. Dinner was OK, but breakfast was disgusting. Food was barely lukewarm, despite being under a hot plate. Had a mouthful of items and left it. Not worth paying for at all. I wouldn't bother coming back here.

Big hotel with an amazing overflow carpark (which is free) so great for vans. Standard premier inn room. Very clean and nice facilities. Only downside of the room were the two rather strange vents near the windows that were letting in cold air which at this time of year, not the best. So I had to keep switching the heating on every time it cut off. Other than that a good night's sleep in a nice room. Staff were very friendly too.

Stayed here for a long weekend with my partner and was very pleased with our stay. We were in the premier plus room and it was very comfortable and no disturbances. We went down to the bar for a few drinks and that was lovely also. Is inbetween two DLR stations so very convenient. Would recommend a stay.

Service at this hotel is outstanding! we met a lady (Junter apologise if this is incorrect) not only on the reception desk but also hostess in the dining room. She was really engaging, attentive and amazing with our little boy. Thank you, you made our stay here. if it hadn’t been for you I’d have complained about the state of our room. Room overall was clean, bedlinen and beds clean / comfy and we slept really well. However a previous guest had been sick in that room and it was up the bath panel, loo and bathroom door. I’m not quite sure how this was missed it was pretty gross. Overall the hotel could do with some investigation in its communal areas it’s looking tired but it’s pretty good value for money, given location and proximity to train links. Carparking free for paying guests (this needs better advertisement) Hotel staff are a credit to this place thank you.

This is a really well located hotel for London, using the Elizabeth line makes it easy to get to most key parts of London as well as the DLR. The hotel was a great place to stay, nice room and a good restaurant. The free parking was a bonus that I hadn’t expected. I would highly recommend staying here and will do so again in the future.

Would have given 5 stars but with 6 floors of rooms, to have only one working lift out of 4 is mental. Even the cleaning staff are using the one lift which is surely making their jobs harder. Either the lifts have been out of order for some time or they have had some serious bad luck to lose 3 between Christmas and new year

Good rooms, but understaffed at reception. I waited around 10mins to check in. Terrible breakfast: everything else was cold despite the food being under the hot plate. Had one bite of everything and could only manage to eat the hash browns. Very poor comparing to other premier inns.

Excellent 2 day stay in a very clean & well maintained Premier Inn hotel. Room was nice & clean & well presented. Reception staff were extremely polite & whilst I had some confusion over my room booking the member of staff I was dealing with was very helpful & courteous. As it's situated in the Docklands it can be difficult during peak traffic times if you are driving. Most of the guests appeared to be trades people working I presume on the myriad of building works around the area. Whilst there is a free hotel car park it was full when I arrived late. Thankfully the hotel has provided car parking on a building site next door which again is a big tick in my book. Highly recommend staying at the hotel.

The staff we extremely accommodating and friendly and made a stressful trip far easier. Room was brilliant and well stocked with everything I needed. And at a very reasonable price (especially for London). Definitely go back here again. 10/10

The hotel is a few minutes walk from the London XL, so very good if you're there for an exhibition. It has a car park, but we came in on train and it was again, very close. The rooms were good and the service good. You rarely go wrong with Premier Inn and this one kept to expectations.

Affordable hotel between Excel and London City Airport, both reachable by a short walk. Nice and helpful staff, that was very appreciated while the stay. The hotel offers the typical Premier Inn amenities such as a good breakfast and an excellent bed & cushion.

Great friendly helpful staff. Breakfast was really good. Rooms clean and tidy and beds comfy. On other hand room looks tired definitely needs a revamp and the car park/outside area does too. Also in the dark there’s no signposts too signal way to hotel.

I have stayed here before but was a few years back. You know what to expect from a Premier Inn and you get just that here. The staff were brilliant, really welcoming and friendly. I did have a couple of issues where the remote didn't work so the housekeeper took one from someone else's room. Then I returned to my room one day to find cleaners had been in (this is still upon request only), to my surprise as I hadn't requested it and they'd left rubbish on the floor and side. Turns out it was from a new bed and the whole floor had been but they forgot to tell me. I did struggle with parking a luton van but the staff allowed me to park across the way where it says permit holders only. The building was having works done so half the car park wasn't available and scaffolding all round the building. I did room service for one evening and it was really lovely food. All in all a good hotel to be honest. I did stay for business purposes, I wouldn't choose this for anything else.

1 star is too much. Hotel is currently under construction. Scaffolding covering the entire building. Only 1 person behind the desk who absolutely refuses to multitask and answer a phone - despite knowing it was in relation to my booking. Proceeded to check in people behind me whilst completely ignoring me. In the end I walked out and went to another hotel locally. I travel a lot for work and have stayed in hundreds of hotels and never experienced anything like this. An absolute shambles and I certainly would not even consider staying in any premier inn because of it. I will also be sending a follow up formal complaint to the management as this experience completely ruined my entire day. Thanks for nothing premier inn. I won’t be back and neither will any of my colleagues.

Comfortable and typical premier inn. Though next to no sound proofing between rooms. There was also building work going on at the hotel, so I woke up to the smells of wood being cut and the sounds of hammers and tools. There was scaffolding outside the room so we kept the curtains and windows shut. This work didn't happen at an unreasonable hour, fortunately. The television was locked down and not tuned in to the channels properly, and the running hot water went between hot and cold sometimes. The room was immaculately clean, and cleaned well on request. The vent in the bathroom was weak and so the room stayed rather humid. Overall satisfied with my stay, would likely stay again.

Great location for getting into central London, service was good and breakfast was well cooked and up to usual standards for a Premier inn. Room was lovely and clean and had everything needed. It is having work done so has scaffold around it but did not affect my stay at all. Car parking was free but it does say otherwise on the signs.

Great, modern hotel, now even better after the renovation, I was staying in the Premium rooms, high, predictable, well-maintained standard. Perfect place to stay if you visit Excel London, walking distance 5 minutes. The staff was great, polite, discreet and fast, just as I like. The breakfast was 10 out of 10, I haven't got any dinner so I can't comment on that. The room itself was spacious and well equipped, The WiFi premium was very good, the bed was comfortable, Aircon was working fine, the bathroom was well equipped and everything was working as expected.

*Environment* Rooms have double glazed windows which help reduce noise, however, there is still noise from DLR and nearby City Airport until late evening. The hotel is very close to ExCeL (<5 minutes walk) and is ideal for any events. *Food* There is no food service during the day -- only in the evening, after 6pm. Food is served in surprisingly large portions for a hotel, but is not always cooked satisfactorily -- my fish + chips batter was soggy, for example. *Breakfast* Classic selection of hotel buffet breakfast items. I found the bacon overcured, and the eggs overcooked, but the sausages were good. *Rooms* Spacious, with lots of room -- perfect if you're exhibiting. NOTE: Rooms are currently not being cleaned daily during your stay due to the covid pandemic. If you want the room cleaned, you need to explicitly request it via reception. Towels smelled of burnt ashtrays and cigarettes, even the fresh ones from housekeeping and the aircon kept switching itself off randomly

The title may seem a little overdramatic but this really is my worst experience with a Premier Inn hotel. It's actually surprised me at how bizarre this one is compared to others I've stayed in around the country. Pros: - Staff are SUPER helpful - Food is good, just your usual Premier Inn stuff, not bad at all - Location to the Excel is great - Rooms a good size Cons: - This is an old building it seems. Like, really old. It's horrendously creaky all over the place. - In extension to the above, it surprised me at the noise that can be heard from rooms above and below you. I've NEVER encountered this before in a Premier Inn. Not sure if the floors just need replacing or what but its very noisy and you can hear people walking, doors being closed etc. in rooms above and below. - Even the chairs and the beds in the room are super creaky and everything just feels like its held together with glue. If you book this hotel for an event at the Excel, BRING EARPLUGS!!! Overall, 3 stars for the general Premier Inn experience but be warned, if you've stayed in Premier Inns around the country, you will be disappointed with this one.

Pros - Overall a decent hotel. Stayed in a Premier plus room and it’s definitely a huge improvement on the standard rooms. Better furniture, mood lighting, nicer artwork and on high floors. And the best thing of all… no hospital-like bathroom floor!! Room also had a fridge, nespresso machine + kettle, pucka teabags and little chocolates. Plus you’ve much better toiletries in the bathroom! If you book in advance can get this significantly better room for a great price :) I asked for my room to be cleaned midstay and it happened with no issue. Cons - The PI new concept rooms, both standard and premium have zero storage for your things, apart from 4 coat hangers. The older rooms at least have 4-5 shelves, but the new furnishing offers none of this. Not the end of the world but staying more than one night it’s nice to not live completely out of a suitcase. I also wish PI would go back to having soft and hard pillow range. They put 4 in most rooms, all medium to hard. And my final moan… god the bathroom towels are so thin and sad. I know it’s a budget hotel but every PI I stay in… I’ve got thicker handkerchiefs! Parking - As the hotel is going through a renovation, half the car park has been closed off. By 1700 each day the car park was totally full so if you’re staying early 2022 and will arrive late it might be worth checking with the hotel if they have overflow parking at another hotel. Location is great with DLR nearby. Would happily stay again.

Clean and tidy. Staff very competent and friendly. Enjoyable stay. If your staying for the reason of an event at the Excel, it's well worth it. The access to the other side of the Excel while events are on is a slight problem. The shops and Gondola (cable car) are a few stops on the DLR due to restricted access. It's not a problem if you use transport, however its hindered for walking. As the city Airport is located quite close if its warm and you have the windows open you may be woken up early during the week. All said and done I would stay again as the walks were great.

I've stayed here at Premier Inn Hotel for two nights and it's located behind EEC London Docklands. I didn't sleep well on my first night because the guest above me was making a lot of noise throughout the night. I rang the reception to let them know about the noise right above me then told them I couldn't sleep. They said they gonna remind the guests. The next day I went to the reception to complain about the noise and they said they have reminded the guest. The second night they've done it again. Went down to the reception explained the situation. The female receptionist decided to move me into another room. I had to repack all my stuff because they've moved me from second floor to ground floor room. With all these inconveniences I couldn't give this hotel a 5 star review based on the service, lack of action, location and creaking floor/ceiling that causes uneasy sleepless nights.

Have been to a few Premier Inn's over the years, and I think this is the best one I've been to. Clean, modern and comfortable. Staff were great, breakfast was fresh, tasty and plentiful. Perfect for The ExCeL, short walk to the DLR station for getting into town. Would definitely stay again and would recommend. Many thanks.
