After reading the negative reviews, the hotel made an absolutely opposite impression on me. The accommodation took place at 00:50 and without any late arrival fee. We spent 3 nights in a triple room. Towels and bath towels were changed daily and hygienic needs were added. The cleaning service worked perfectly. Breakfast was basic but always enough. They do not offer vegetables here. The bustle of the street is due to the fact that the hotel is located near the expressway. However, we already knew this from the maps when ordering. Just close the window and sleep in peace. There is a park, shops, fast food and an important metro near the hotel. I was satisfied here and I would definitely return.

Very difficult to find, when looking for the hotel on the map it leads you to the better Ibis instead of the budget ibis. Very poorly placed plug sockets, only 2 under the television in the whole room, lack of lights the room is lit up by the one long light at one side of the bed. Shower was EXTREMELY dangerous, changing to scorching hot at random intervals during your shower, so much so that you had to move out of the way of the water so you wouldn’t get burnt, uncomfortable bed and with mattress topper ontop of the actual mattress. Not enough hangers for clothes, price for the room was ridiculous for the lack of amenities. No kettle so if you wanted hot water you’d have to go downstairs and use the coffee machines water. On arrival into our room, no fresh toilet roll it was like it was used from the people before us. Key cards barely worked, little to no space at all in the room, photos online make it out like the room is larger than it actually is. Extremely thin walls you can hear people walking up and down the hallway throughout the night. Sign on the door handle “do not disturb” was falling apart. At random points during the middle of the night fire alarms are set off with absolutely no warning to the guests that a fire alarm testing will be taking place. Staff aren’t the nicest, we arrived and were rudely welcomed by a woman and got told to “wait.” While we waited to check in, not in a polite manner at all, the male staff were lovely. TV had scuffs on the screen where there was dead pixels and not the clearest view of the television. Hand, face, shampoo and conditioner was used for both the shower and sink which I found to be pretty gross. Not much variety of drinks and snacks in the lobby, not well refrigerated either. The placement of the hotel is very confusing due to it being practically next to the other IBIS makes it difficult to find, right next to a busy road so it’s very loud even with the window closed.

In terms of a budget hotel, it was a lovely stay, good-sized room, and a reasonable breakfast. Location is good as well and within 5 minutes walk you can take the bus. One of the best budget hotels I've stayed so far

We told the staff that heating was not working in the room. It was not fixed so we stayed in a frozen room. However the staff was very pleasant and understanding with everything. The price of the room was very good, balancing the location.

Traveling for business around the country, so I used this hotel for a few days. Rooms were clean, housekeeping on point and the service was great. Yes, it's a bit noisy from the traffic on the main road, but what can be expected - it comes with the location. Overall had a good experience.

I stayed in room 148. Superb, very large for an IBIS Budget Hotel. Problem! The Air Conditioner made noises in the night and woke me up. Couldn't fix it - it just kept making a gurgling sound. Soooooooo annoying. Also, why isn't this Hotel on the ALL promotional scheme - very unsatisfactory.

Absolutely horrible hotel, everything had a disgusting smell from the hotel lobby, to the corridors, to the bathroom within the bedroom. Floors were sticky, lacked cleanliness and hygiene. Me and my sister booked a room for 2 night, first night we had to stay out of necessity and as soon as it was daylight we checked out. Do not recommend this hotel

Me and my family stayed in the Ibis Budget Hotel in Barking, London from Friday 15th December - Sunday 17th December We paid £75.60 for our stay on the Friday night and £120.60 for the Saturday night. I understand the rooms are advertised as budget and that was reflected in the price for Friday, but it was not for the Saturday The room is nowhere near worth £120 especially when your standard hotel a short walk away was charging that price on that day. Our room was incredibly small, with very little natural light, which meant half of the room was in complete darkness, making in incredibly difficult for three people to actually get ready in there. There are only two plug sockets in the room, which again made it incredibly challenging trying to get ready when needing to use electrical appliances. There is also only one main light at the end of the bed which only lit up a small section of the room. The area needed to get ready for the day was in complete darkness. The facilities in the hotel are basic too, with very limited space to relax. The downstairs seating/breakfast area where also dirty, so we never felt we could sit there and relax after a day out exploring London. Once we had arrived and paid, I did discover that the room rate for Friday was advertised at £64, and on Saturday night was £79. Not only at the hotel, but on other hotel booking sites too. As an Ibis member I find this pricing to be very dishonest. You do not get a hotel or room worth £120 per night. There are other hotels in London who charge that per night, which we would have had a more comfortable stay at. I booked directly, your website also states that by becoming a member you get access to discounted rates, which has not been the case. I have been charged over £50 more for my stay. If we arrived at the hotel, and felt we has got what we paid for I wouldn't be complaining, but we have paid far too much for a very very basic and uncomfortable stay. I would appreciate it if the price we paid can be looked into, as I feel this room rate was falsely advertised, and we paid wat over what we should have expected to pay

It was clean, that was the only good part of our stay there.. Moreover, It was far away from downtown, in a bad neighbourhood and there was a major problem with the room: the heating was not working at all. Nobody fixed this malfunction.

We stayed at the hotel last weekend. The hotel covered the basics but Carmen the staff member on reception was amazing, she was so helpful and really friendly, she deserved 5 stars. I heard some bad news about a friend whilst checking out, Carmen was genuinely empathic and kind. Thank you, its nice to be treated as a room numbers.

Simple basic hotel with no thrills. No kettle, tea, coffee for guests in the rooms which is a major let down, the beds were comfy but still struggled to sleep. Awful traffic noise but that's down to location. Had to pay for parking which we didn't have to do at other 4 star hotels around the UK or even other mainstream branded hotels. We may stay here again but would better prepare ourselves for our needs.

As far as hotels go this is one of the worst I've stayed in. The rooms are ridiculously small, cramped and the 3rd bed for our son was a bunk-style bed over our heads. With the quality of the place in general and the way it moved and made noises I was sure it was going to fall down on our heads as we slept. The breakfast is pitiful. 'Continental' style but such a small range that it's not worth considering. The service is dire as well. Unfriendly and terse. Would not recommend even if they paid me.

Room was really small than expected. It was dark inside even though we switched on all the lights. Good for short time stays if you’re gonna stay inside the room just for the night. There wasn’t even a dustbin inside the room. Clean and absolutely budget 👍🏻

  • 4/5 Stacy C. 10 months ago on Google
Nothing special but exactly what you expect for such low cost - very small but if you're just after a bed for the night then all good, surprisingly good showers. Next to a very loud road so the aircon was a welcome relief. Service was excellent, everyone was friendly and helpful - allowed us an early check in at no extra cost. The location isn't incredible but 10 mins from the train station and very easy to find. Breakfast is basic but enough to keep you going.

Room was ok, as per the website and everything clean and in good order. The only big downside is that the TV's in the hotel need to be updated and re tuned. This is very annoying as most of the TV channels do not work and therefore unable to watch anything without having to use other means i.e. laptop/mobile phone. Also is I wanted to plug in a HDMI lead to watch my laptop via the TV, it is impossible to access the socket and therefore unusable.

I recommend this hotel, the price is quite ok and the location is good, the rooms are clean and the girls clean the rooms every day. The staff is very friendly and they speak nicely. We will definitely come here again.

We had a wonderful stay! The bed was super comfortable and the shower was big. Everything was very clean and tidy! Carmen the receptionist was also super friendly which made our stay all the better! Would highly recommend booking here.

Found it eventually. Usual Ibis Budget bland decor and those awfull light switches. Plus that deadly bunk bed to bang your head on. Still, it was warm, clean and welcoming on a cold night. My room was in the front and traffic noise might be an issue for some.

Honestly had such a lovely stay here!! The staff were so friendly and helpful especially Carmen at the front. Stayed here for 5 nights and I felt very comfortable. For a budget hotel you get everything you need and my bed was super comfortable. The cleaning staff always checked if I needed anything. I would definitely come again. Also big tesco was 1 min up the road which I found useful.

The basic thing of a cheap hotel for the night were there. Comfy bed, good bedding, good shower and towels. All of that was bang on but that's as positive as I can be. I found the staff very switched off and no engaged. The hotel corridors were dirty and marks on the carpet. In the room yes it was clean but marks on the wall and a musky smell in the bathroom. Room small but big enough for what you need. Ibis budget don't do tea and coffee so took my own. I was on top floor but still was a little noisy at times and found the room to be in need of repairs. Back of the TV remote missing and the room strip lights half hanging off and not working. I paid £33 for 1 night was there for all of 9 hours and got value for money. Apart from being woke up by fire alarm at 2:40am slept ok so did was it was meant to. Really don't know if I would stay again and of the positive points weren't there would have been a 1star. But do have to say it's both the worst Ibis and budget chain hotel I have stayed in.

I had a good stay. staff very friendly. Room were clean and tidy ,fresh towels every day. Enjoyed my stay here with Ibis Barking.

  • 3/5 Vicki R. 2 years ago on Google
For the price we paid we cannot really grumble. Room was clean, it was hot due to the heater being on full blast entering the room and the window barely opened due to health and safety. There were clean towels and the bedding was plump and clean. The bathroom was decent. The key cards were temperamental and the only thing that let it down a little was the lack of customer service. We found the lady behind the desk quite rude and abrupt. If you're just looking for a bed and shower for the night at a cheap price then it's worth it.

For a budget - it was lacking We’ve stayed in Ibis budget and non-budget hotels before, and ultimately a lot of the experience could’ve been just so much better with a little more care, funding, and better customer service. This visit was just not reminiscent of other visits to other Ibis budget hotels. There was a lack of coffee / tea making facilities within the rooms, despite having more than enough space for this. What made this worse is that over the course of 4 days, the coffee machine in the building was out of order for the entirety of the stay. I’ve stayed in hotels without this before, but for the reasons of a genuine lack of space - this just seems like a rather cheap penny saving scheme by Ibis despite the fact that ‘kettles are available on request’… just have them in the room by default, that way if guests have to go 4 mornings without this, they can do so in the comfort of their rooms. The beds in the rooms were comfy though, so no complaints there. Just a shame that no extra pillows were stocked / kept at reception for individuals that prefer two, especially considering there are no headboards in the rooms. Air conditioning was a great extra - worked brilliantly throughout the stay. Power sockets are extremely limited (two underneath the TV) with none being at the bedside for charging phones. Again, it’s 2022 - people have devices, please consider adding more near the bed. Bathroom was very nice, kept very clean by the cleaners, although loo roll was not replenished at all at any point. Just a very unfortunate lack of not-so-luxury necessities which really don’t justify this being a ‘budget’ hotel - just comes across as being stingy. End of the day, you’re in London - paying London rates, the premier Inn next door charges a surprisingly similar rate for most nights, and at least with them you’d get consistency.

Me and my wife had a pleasant stay here at ibis, in addition Carmen the young lady at the reception was wonderful. She was very helpful and upbeat! We had a smooth checkout with her! Definitely would come back here :)

Nice budget hotel. Served its purpose well with comfy beds. Nice friendly reception staff on occasion which really helps with the welcoming vibe. It could however do with accomodating drinking tap water and at least a kettle in the room if not anything else.

As a budget hotel, you get what you expect, but the staff here were Fantastic! Stayed for 3 weeks Monday to Friday for 4 of us due to work. Rarely made breakfast but more than adequate for a budget hotel! The rooms were comfy and I slept very well! They provide a snack and bar service at reception and also allow u to eat takeaways in the seating reception area and provide a microwave for guests to use which finishing work at 4am is fantastic! Unfortunately our last weeks booking was changed to the Ibis 2 buildings away and had a terrible stay! Myself and colleagues would have rather stayed here! Thanks again for a great stay and your politeness, Ibis budget barking 10 times better customer care than the other Ibis!

I had a really nice stay. For a budget hotel the room was cleaned and tidy with air conditioning, housekeeping very kind and helpful, we asked for extra pillows and towels they came very fast . The staff from reception were very polite and friendly ,we felt very welcoming and I would highly recommend.

More like a hostel or detention centre. Upon arrival we were informed that 120 immigrants were being housed here. Littering the foyer and the outside seating area all day, smoking drugs even in the hotel corridors and rooms. Very intimidating. Staff not interested in complaints. We had to pay for breakfast whilst the visitors stole large handfuls of pastries. Staff rude to everyone - clearly they are fed up of how this place is being treated. This place should not be open to the public.

Clean and affordable but the best thing about this place is the hospitality. Mehwish was sweet, accommodating and just a top notch employee. Would absolutely stay again simply based on her hospitality. 5 stars!

I stayed here back in the end of April early May for my first time in London, the room was small / basic good enough for one or two people though. It was close enough to the train stations to access the train to central London. Prices were okay, but should of been somewhat lower. I got a basic tiny room but it was okay for me. Only issue I had was a member of the staff giving out to me about booking a disabled room when , I actually have actual diagnosed “on paper disabilities” but they were assuming based on how I look would which is ignorant and presumptuous. I would recommend only for short stays.

  • 3/5 PurpleShirted 11 months ago on Google
The hotel was a great deal for the money I paid. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. The location is somewhat isolated, the nearest underground station is about 10 minutes on foot. The neighborhood is great with many shops. The breakfast was underwhelming to say the least. 8.50 GBP for toast, cereal and coffee... Overall it was ok for a short visit to London but if you are looking for a longer stay definitely look for something else.

  • 5/5 Paulo T. 11 months ago on Google
Stayed at the hotel for 3 days around April, probably the best budget experience I had. Great rooms and great staff too, definitely recommend this place if you need to go to London and stay at a budget place, it's also relatively next to the rail station (around a 9 minute walk I think) so you can easily go and come back to the city without issue, it also has a Tesco right next to it on the other side of the street so you can grab something there if you require.

  • 3/5 Paul W. 1 year ago on Google
When your only looking for somewhere to stay overnight at 1am and everyone else is fully booked for the night, then and only then do you appreciate ibis budget. I can understand the term budget, but at £100per night + £8 parking fee is hardly budget prices. There is no sound proofing between the walls, so there is little privacy. Don't forget to take a bottle of water or a cup of some description because non of this is provided. Apart from that the bedroom & bathroom are as you would expect very clean n tidy.

  • 3/5 Lauren H. 11 months ago on Google
Very small rooms, not great for sharing. Our twin room was 2 single beds pushed together with around half a metre of space either side. No hot breakfast option. No restaurants walkable nearby.

  • 2/5 Brian van B. 1 year ago on Google
My goodness. This hotel got some real attraction to schools. No problem of course, but DONT order breakfast, unless you prefer to stand in a queue of 50 kids, and end up with no seat... What a nightmare. Rooms are fine, clean and no problem whatsoever, but breakfast... A true nightmare!

Been for a short trip in London and I really had a good and restful weekend within this hotel. Rooms were clean and all round great service. Will use it again, whenever I will be back in London.

  • 4/5 Frank O. 1 year ago on Google
The price is good but for an obvious reason. Clean sparse rooms, clean really nice bathroom, no hot food at breakfast and no evening meal offering. All acceptable if you know what you are getting.

  • 3/5 Liam C. 4 months ago on Google • 2 reviews
Decent location for the price, was only about 15 min walk from the tube, which was handy for saving money on Ubers to the Excel when trying to save a bit of money with the London prices of everything! Tesco right next to the hotel is very handy too. A couple of nights is about enough to be honest as the room was very small and was not that great if you spent time in there more than sleeping, but for the price you get what you pay for. Didn’t have much to do with the staff but they didn’t seem that engaged or friendly when I checked in and when I had an issue with my card key not working. Overall not bad, the price should have been telling really but if I’m honest I would go a step up with a better hotel next time even if it cost more.

  • 4/5 Victoria M. 4 months ago on Google • 1 review
Good location for the Excel. Cost between £12 and £16 in an uber. Room was clean and towels provided. Fridges in reception with sandwiches, drinks and alcoholic drinks. Breakfast looked nice (we didn't have it though).

Decent value for a quick business stay. Had a room on the back side of the hotel, so the road noise was not an issue. Also the room was clean and tidy. Staff was helpful with an issue I had with my shower head.

AVOID — AVOID—AVOID Absolutely waste of money and ice cold room when out side temperature was -3 Rude staff no heating in the room did request receptionist she said I’m busy come to reception and take the portable heater. I requested her I am 82 years old.I cannot just come down so please I request either you make the heater work or bring the portable one cause I cannot bear the cold anymore. She just said come and take the heater your self nothing I can do. Also windows were letting the cold breeze in. So I left the hotel within 40 minutes and just wasted the money and time and made my journey awkward. Will never use again
