Stauf's gets by on their reputation, but there is a lot of room for improvement. The employees are not that friendly. Some don't greet you at all? They just stand there. It's very awkward and uncomfortable. It's also always way too warm in here. They never have any blueberry bagels. The bagel sandwich is very dry. They desperately need to remodel. It's past time. I heard a rumor that Grandview residents protested when they suggested doing it previously, but who knows if that's true. Regardless, it needs to be done. They have a sign about their wobbly tables. The booths are ripped. The walls are empty. The pastry case and bagel storage are way past their prime. The lighting is jarring. There's a light shining right in your eye when you go up to order! The menu needs to be redone. Victorian Village has a beauty of a shop, and Grandview has this inferior eyesore with grumpy employees. The pic included was taken a few days ago. It was the same today. I guess they don't sweep outside. Weird. Third photo dishes and trash left outside after they're closed and gone 9/14. Clearly no pride is taken in this business which is sad. Also, the value isn't here. Places like One Line have organic espresso, use Hartzler milk, and have homemade syrups. They also shake their lattes which makes the flavors shine. Here they upcharge for better quality milk and the espresso is not organic, and the drinks taste okay not great. So a latte here costs more for an inferior product. Idk what they're doing with the extra cash, but they certainly aren't investing into their store. Additionally, if you want people to line up in a certain spot then redesign your store in such a fashion instead of yelling commands in my ear! It's not welcoming! Come on. Now just start making some homemade syrups, offer glassware, do a nice remodel, and it will be good to go. Oh and online ordering!!! Stauf's is wayyy behind the times on that. You can't even view the drink menu online.

Pretty dope spot for coffee, reading, co-working, dating, people watching, and the romance of an old Columbus haunt. Awesome selection of beans and staff who is ready to serve, and friendly. Tons of coffee supplies and equipment and the like. Big space for working and reading. Full menu of hot and iced stuff, plus food, plus baked goods. Friendly folks too. Sweet spot in the neighborhood. Has evolved through the years with the changes to the city. Used to spend hours here, wish I still could - now I just come by whenever we’re in town. It’s one of those places where you can feel the gazillion people who have had a coffee there - the air is thick with good souls. And smells like great coffee.

This is an amazing coffee house. They roast some beans right here and have a ton of varieties for sale, and you can also get your standard selection of coffee-based drinks to satisfy your addiction. The drip coffee is nice and strong here. Although the line was long, service was quick and I managed to get a cup of dark roast in just a few minutes.

A great coffeehouse, fantastic food, great coffee, a huge selection, over 50 different types of beans and you can have them ground and take home ,really cool place to hang out definitely one of the top coffee houses I’ve ever been to.

Looking for an incredible place to work at your remote job? How about get some studying or a paper written? What about finding your inner spirit animal while sipping on an amazing latte and doing some people watching?! This is THE place to meet all of your needs. Great coffee, great eats. Enjoyed the perfectly named buckeye named for both the buckeye state and the delicious dessert of peanut butter and chocolate, which is what I ordered over ice. 10/10. Enjoyed the breakfast burrito for brunch.

This is a large, busy, convenient coffee shop with some breakfast options. When we came on a Sunday morning, it was unusually crowded according to the barista, but the service was great and the food items were average. They were out of 3 items we were hoping to get at that time, so maybe we will come back to try what we originally wanted to order! Pictured is the veggie wrap and breakfast sandwich (both bagel and toast versions).

While my breakfast sandwich was hot and tasty, I was extremely disappointed with everything else in my order. Especially considering the wait. I waited 30 minutes for an iced caramel latte (I ordered it hot) that tasted like straight milk. There was no sweetness or any caramel flavor and it barely tasted like coffee but was supposed to be a triple. They only had one person making drinks on a Friday morning and when I say it was packed, there was barely room to move in there. This was my first time trying stauffs and based on this experience, I wouldn't go back. 20 bucks down the drain.

Stauf's may be ranked in the top ten nationally, but, at least this venue, is not up to that grade. The coffee is excellent. The service is harried but helpful. The breakfast menu is limited, and didn't appeal to me, so I had a really good scone instead. But the place is so hugely popular that the noise is almost unbearable. I wished I had brought my noise cancelling ear buds. Despite the crush, I could find a table, so that was OK, but the owners need to put in some kind of noise abatement ceiling. Perhaps the other Stauf's in Columbus are quieter, but I found myself wishing I had gone to another cafe for breakfast

Love it. The workers are personable. Place is clean and they enforce the six foot rule while you are waiting for your order. They get the order right. Masks enforced. I do wish they had more bagels.. often run out of my favorite, Asiago. Prices reasonable. So much better than fast food!

My best friend lives down the street. So any time we get a chance to see each other we head to this coffee shop. The coffee and tea options are wknderful. The employees are phenomenal and are willing to answer any and all questions you may have. The establishment is cozy and the perfect setup to catch up with a friend, read a book, or get some work down. Highly recommend.

Lively coffee and breakfast/lunch place densely occupied by folks reading, doing school work and socializing. Eclectic selection of coffees and teas. Staff are attentive and friendly. Also have outdoor seating if you like! Stop by when in Grandview. 4.7/5

I realize this is a popular spot and my review will mean nothing. I went in to order coffee cold brew, and I told the lady I have not in their establishment. She said well “first you get in line” there was no line. I said there is no line. She said yes there is turned out there was a group waiting for their order they were waiting in the wrong place. I just didn’t have a good experience. I ask for heavy cream the lady snapped at me I will stick with Starbucks

I only stop in for whole bean small batch roasted coffee. And it's excellent! The selection is out of this world. The service is good. The prices could always be better but they are fair. If you want a high quality product then you must pay for it. But all in all its one of my favorite coffee roasters in Columbus.

Used to be a great shop with passionate coffee loving employees. Now the hipster art student employees who run the shop have ruined it. They lack any customer service skills and clearly don't care if the place fails or succeeds. Made me change from having Stauf's as my exclusive bean supplier to never doing business with them again. It's truly sad Tom's legacy has been destroyed. Lots of other great roasters in the area I have discovered who appreciate my business.

I loved everything about my visit to Stauf's Grandview location. The cafe is located in a nice neighborhood with many other shops. The coffee was delicious. I ordered a pumpkin spice latte. Service was also excellent. The cafe has a shop with take home coffee and merchandise. The shop manager provided information on the different roasts.

  • 5/5 Elijah C. 5 years ago on Google
This is hands-down one of the best coffee shops in the Columbus area! They have excellent custom roasts, a great atmosphere, and an excellent selection of desserts and sandwiches. They offer very reasonable prices on all of their beverages, but also reasonable pricing on their pour-over coffee. Not only do they have freshly roasted beans available to smell and purchase, but you can also try a fresh pour-over of ANY custom roast.

Staff waited for my indecisive ordering, that takes some SERIOUS patience. Coffee was great with a large seating area of about two ballrooms and free wifi and bathrooms. They also have bakery snacks. Located in a mall way next to a hair salon, karaoke, guitar repair shop, and a theater. Could easily visit the area from gooddale ave. area. Great place to study or do remote work!

The staff have become increasingly pretensious while loosing consistent quality over the last 4-5 years. I was a huge fan of walking to my local coffee shop, but I would rather drive across down than be treated so poorly with a mediocre drink. .

I'm so frustrated writing this. I eat lunch everyday at this amazing little coffee shop. Today I ordered a simple mint green tea and a salad. 1/2 way through my mint tea, I realized the two gnats that were enjoying a swim in my tea. The manager "Evy" had little to no response, and was not helpful whatsoever. I was more disappointed in the way that it was handled, or not handled I suppose... Unfortunate.

Very good! Got the small caramel latte with an extra shot! Noticed everyone had ice creams around us and went to the shop next door for some ice cream. Nothing like espresso and ice cream!

  • 5/5 Benjamin J. 4 years ago on Google
Great Coffee. Food is excellent too. You can buy loose leaf tea, exotic coffee beans, and coffee making accessories too. There is alot of seating throughout the cafe, although people will come to study and read so there tends to be campers sometimes. Also, the smell of this coffee shop is amazing. Definitely a go-to for coffee lovers and students.

This Stauf's is one of my favorite coffee spots in Central Ohio. Not only is the coffee excellent, but the space is really great. It is one of the most spacious coffee shops around with plenty of seating (and you're not right on top of the folks at the next table). They also have some outdoor seating and are right on the strip in Grandview so it is a fun place to hang out.

  • 1/5 Francisco R. 3 years ago on Google
In my experience, the nicest the staff is, is not mean. Often times they're actually mean and disrespectful and unappreciative of their customers. I often have a worse mood after going here. They will treat you as if they are better than you, because they believe they are. I am polite, friendly, I spend quite a bit of money, and I tip. Despite this, and despite repeated mistakes on their part they have treated me only with disdain. From an overall appreciation level and on an interaction basis. This is one of the most petty and pretentious groups of people I'm aware of - they're actually as terrible as they will treat you.

This place is amazing. Probably the first coffee shop my family frequented growing up. They're locally owned and operated. They take care of their employees and stand with them. They operate a few different locations which I've been to most of them. They are consistent, they support the local community and vulnerable populations. I cannot say enough wonderful things.

Grew up with Stauf's right behind my house. It has always had the best coffee and the best atmosphere. I started a podcast with a friend surrounding coffee ( Coffee Regular Podcast ) and Stauf's was generous enough to send us a few bags of their coffee. We are still savoring it! Hands down, some of the best coffee on earth.

Amazing coffee and food! The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Some coffee places can be intimidating to order at; however, staufs is always extremely helpful when exploring new drinks. The food at the Grandview location is amazing, and it makes the spot perfect for studying. I highly recommend exploring their different coffee syrup flavors. It is my coffee shop in Columbus and I always bring my friends and family when they visit!

My kinda watering hole. Smells of fresh coffee and textbooks. Expect to be surrounded by folks studying, typing, meeting and getting work done on weekdays. Their lunch menu is great too. However, in my 3 years of visiting this place on a daily basis I find the service to be hit or ‘miss badly’. I remember how much I enjoyED buying coffee beans and enjoying a delicious cup of pour over from them. The staff WERE genuinely passionate about coffee and ensured that the customer got the best coffee for their pallet. Now, i feel like I’m inconveniencing the staff by walking into the store. Asking for a pour over is like asking for their first born. Perhaps they got fast and loose on hiring new staff ? Or perhaps everyone is overworked :( Sad to see this iconic spot getting too popular for its own good.

Very unfortunate. I was just telling my boyfriend how I really enjoy this location and coffee shop as we were coming in. I have been here once before for coffee. I went to order a build your own breakfast sandwich and asked for egg whites. They were NOT able to accommodate my dietary restrictions. Not sure how taking out an egg yolk from an egg is so difficult. Very disappointed and will be making sure to tell my friends and family about this very less than satisfying experience. You would think with this place being in a hipster location and all the dietary restrictions now and days that they could at least accommodate egg whites.

We were very excited to try the oldest roaster in Columbus, but were left quite disappointed. The good: we tried their light roast Guatemala they had on drip, it was decent, but I've had better Guatemalans. The bad: 1. The dark roast they had on drip was like drinking a fire log, it was straight char. 2. We also bought a bag of their Kenyan AA, it too was over roasted. Ok at first, but your mouth was left with nothing, but ash after. 3. Very little information on the bag. No roast dates, no roast level, no processing information, no tasting notes, just a Staufs stamp and the name of the coffee. Overall they seem to care more about the coffee house vibe and being trendy than they care about producing quality 3rd wave coffee. With all the other options in Columbus, we will not be returning.

The coffee tasted pretty good. I got a cold brew. Location was nice, in a charming, walkable neighborhood. The interior of the coffee shop is quite spacious. Aesthetically it’s very appealing. Service was meh. Barista was not that friendly. I totally understand it’s difficult working in the service industry during covid. However, when you are an out of towner excited to get a taste of the local dining/etc it’s a little discouraging when you feel like you are a bother. I don’t mean to complain, again, I totally totally get it and everyone has bad days and moments. In conclusion: coffee tasted great, great atmosphere. Old, beautiful, wooden floors. Very rustic. I’d definitely go back.

I got the white mocha with raspberry syrup. I love the white chocolate plus raspberry combination and I've had that coffee before from other places. 5/5 stars for the flavor. The flavor of white chocolate and raspberry was the best I've had. Taking off one star cause I could taste no coffee at all. Almost got too sweet for me?!? But the shop is cute and smelled like coffee should. The buckeye was pretty perfect too! I was skeptical of PB with coffee but it was really good!

This is my fave coffee spot in Columbus (other than maybe their German Village location). Their coffee is great (try the Buckeye Mocha), they have lots of sugar-free & dairy-free options. Their food is great too although hours are limited on that. I ordered a bunch of their vegan cupcakes for my wedding for those not eating cake, because they are giant & delicious (I had to fight the non-vegans away from trying to eat them all). They have a great variety of bulk coffee and tea, although I do wish they had more organic options.

Don't bother pre ordering. I ordered a drip coffee around 12:30, not their busiest time, to pick up. It took almost an hour. And even then, only because I showed up and prodded them. Go elsewhere if you value your time. There are other local roasters/coffee houses.

I really don’t wanna do business with stauffs anymore. The coffee beans are roughly twice the price of what they should be and some of the employees have elevated themselves to the level of royalty over customers. They also have coronavirus procedures stricter then any doctors office. Today I inadvertently violated three procedures and was corrected before I could buy coffee. Bye stauffs.

Coffee is not that great. It’s really so so. The customer service is horrible! Walked in said hi to one of the female employees, she didn’t respond and gave me a annoyed look. Walked up to the counter to order.. there was 4 girls just standing around talking. I waited for about 15-20 seconds, before one of them addressed me. All the employees seemed very grumpy. Never was greeted. First time and last time here. I can over pay for coffee some where else.

This is one of the better and more popular coffee shops Columbus has to offer. There's plenty of seating indoors and outdoors and pretty fast WiFi, so it's a great place to go get some work done. They have an extensive menu of flavored coffee drinks and teas for those who don't stick to the basics. The coffee they serve is high-quality either way. They also have tons of house-made pastries, breakfast, and lunch entrees to choose from. Everything I've tried here has been consistently good, though I haven't been blown away by anything particular. Nonetheless, I'd recommend giving Stauf's a try if you're a fan of enjoying a coffee shop atmosphere.

If you're looking for plenty of seating both indoor and outdoor, decent hours and a variety of coffee and loose leaf drinks, pastries, and a quick breakfast/lunch, this is your place. I've spent hours studying here. There's ice water available to the right of the counter, giant front windows letting in lots of natural light, and a wide range of patrons studying, reading, chatting with friends, accomplishing work, and meeting tinder dates. I can almost always find nearby street parking, usual right out front and free. There are no electrical outlets on the sidewalk patio. One of the few places in Columbus that consistently cooks an order of eggs over-medium correctly.

Stumbled into this place because we had some time to kill. It was packed which is a good sign, but unfortunately there was nowhere for us to sit to enjoy our drinks. I asked the guy working about his favorite drink and he recommended the Cold Joe. Coffee with a shot of vanilla and a little cream, a lot of caffeine and not too sweet. That’s right up my alley and I loved it.

A really comfy and small coffee shop. Has Wi-Fi, and it’s a hit with college students, also. Friendly customer service. Now I don’t like coffee, and I ordered the sweetest coffee they had, and it was amazing.

I give this place double thumbs up. The service was very welcoming and sociable. It has an awesome atmosphere. Mood here reminds me of Colorado Springs area.

Great coffee but I didny like my friend had to buy my drink because they weren't accepting cash. Good staff!

Cup O'Joe is to be commended for doing the best job I've seen in taking precautions to prevent the spread of Covid-19. Inside seating remains closed, (but a few patio tables are now available), and the staff has developed an efficient system for processing takeout orders while maintaining social distancing. Masks are required for employees and customers, and hand sanitizer is available at the counter. A plexiglass barrier has recently been added at the counter as well. I feel welcome and safe getting my Sammy's bagel and a large dark roast here almost daily. Thanks for putting people first! Cash only, for now. Update: Cash payments are once again being accepted.

Go for the Diablo stay for the ambiance (at least pre-Covid). They are doing a stellar job with the pandemic in full tilt. Their coffee is great, service is always amazing, fast, and genuine.

Despite covid-19, they still have great coffee

Cup O' Joe has amazing coffee and yummy pastries! The staff are friendly and welcoming. I've felt safe going here throughout the pandemic. At the onset of COVID-19, Cup O' Joe immediately instituted safety measures, including accepting card only, using sanitized styluses, social distancing tape, and more. It also now requires the use of masks. Highly recommend to anyone in need of caffeine and/or anyone who is COVID-19 health-conscious during this time. Thanks!

I dropped by when I was driving through Columbus. They make an amazing latte and a mouth watering bacon scone. I will be revisiting this place the next time I am in Columbus.

Excellent coffee but it's soooo crowded. Even if you can find a place to sit (which is unlikely), the chance of you finding a table you can share with a friend and god forbid a laptop plug are slim. Go in, get your coffee, and go home.

Extremely popular at this time of day (11am on a Saturday). Food came out in less than 10 minutes. I ordered the Stauf’s Club with a side salad, & a blended mocha.

THE BEST coffee in Columbus, OH. I had a nice quiet morning with some delicious espresso and a scone. I'll be back for sure.

  • 5/5 Kara 1 year ago on Google
Highly recommend this place for coffee and teas, and their breakfast is surprisingly really good! It's a cozy spot but can get pretty busy + seems to be a popular spot for people to bring their work into, so seating availability may be limited depending on what time you come in. There is a large parking lot behind the building that makes finding parking easy too.

  • 5/5 CubalayaBandit 2 years ago on Google
Lovely coffee shop. Lots of seating, good drinks. They have food in the morning/lunch I think. They have bagels and the such as well into the afternoon. You can buy whole bean here too.

  • 4/5 Anna 1 year ago on Google
This location has the best blueberry muffins I've ever had. Their coffee is pretty good albeit a little strong. My only complaint is their lunch options. Most items contain surplus of lettuce.

  • 4/5 Courtney C. 1 year ago on Google
Really great coffee! This place has a lovely environment and their kitchen is pretty good too! The pastries in front of house are hit or miss. But the food from the kitchen is great! You can buy pretty much any kind of coffee you could ever hope for in beans and they will grind it for you if you need/want. Stauf’s is on the pricier side but if you can afford it, it’s worth it!

  • 5/5 Tamara C. 1 year ago on Google
The coffee here has me spoiled and happy. I buy by the pound and also get something from the counter now and again. (Always the almond joy for me.) I'll go to any location to get my supply and the employees are pleasant and helpful. Loved it for years and will continue to!

It was naturally very busy on a Saturday morning, but we were still able to snag a seat. We also didn't have to wait long for food. The breakfast wrap is wonderful - they really put quite a few ingredients in there. Atmosphere is great for a 1:1, a study session, or a date!

Stauf’s has the best local coffee roasts and staff! I order a cold brew with caramel several times a week and it’s consistently perfect. Their breakfast burritos are also delicious! It’s my go-to for coffee and breakfast.

  • 5/5 Joshua K. 1 year ago on Google
My only complaint is how crowded the place gets, but that's because it's so good! Their bacon cheddar scones are so good that I had to find a copycat recipe to get my fix for days I don't have time to stop by. Great spot to hang and do some work or reading, assuming you can find a seat.

This is my all-time favorite coffee shop in the area. This place is a must stop for some delectable coffee and baked goods. The staff put the quality of their coffee above all other shops in the area. I am very specific about my cup of Joe, and they make sure they brew their espresso in a very professional manner. The food is out of this world. I love the barista's passion for coffee. Overall extremely pleased!

This place is a classic. The different flavor of coffees that they offer are A+. I get excited every time I go to either try a new one or have the opportunity to purchase one that I love. Their egg and bacon breakfast sandwiches are superb!

Coffee house roasting their own beans and offer their house brand coffee drinks, baked goods and light food. Good place near Ohio state university.

Classic coffee shop they've hardly changed it for at least 30 years. Chill atmosphere, speedy service, and amazing hott coffee. Not just special drinks but a variety of options for drip (dark, light, flavored, and decaf). Just came back to visit and ate one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've ever had

If you like coffee, this is for you! Staufs does breakfast and lunch and roasts their own coffees. The coffee is fresh and you can also buy a bag to take home. I like the food as well. Always stop by when I'm near Grandview. Took home a bag of coffee, too. As usual!

We live 25 minutes away, but the trip is absolutely worth it! We love to enjoy some brunch with a macchiato then bring home a couple lbs of the incredible blends.

Really awesome atmosphere. People were working and very nice. Coffee was good also. I drink my coffee black so I can give a review on any specialties, but I'll be back for sure.

Brought my mother and grandmother here to show them this lovely gem and had nothing but rude service and the same person who rang us (long hair face mask) out then and said they were out of coffee and couldn't make more.... coffee (until they could) chided us for sitting at a table that was blocking the fire exit. We did not place the table there and were fine moving but the way she talked to us was accusatory at that moment and from the beginning to the end was awful.

Stauf's is one of my favorite coffee shops in Columbus! There are so many great options of food and drinks to choose from. They are accommodating to people with dietary restrictions as they have alternative milk options available and vegetarian and gluten free options. Physically, there is a parking lot directly behind Stauf's that connects through to the front of the building and the path is completely flat, making it accessible. There are also some parking spots in front of Staufs on the street and ramps available to get onto the sidewalk. There is a slight incline to get into the through the door, but there is a ramp to get inside. The doorway and walkways between tables can be tight, which makes the space difficulty to navigate if an individual is using a wheelchair, crutches, walker, cane, or another form of assistance to move about the space. The menu is posted behind the counter in large font. The staff at Stauf's are always kind and happy to help if a customer would need help reading the menu or getting their drink or another item. While the space does present some potential accessibility issues, the staff are very kind and would do their best to create accommodations. I highly recommend Stauf's to everyone!
