Interesting small National Trust property. Gardens are bigger than I expected and free to enter. The volunteers we met were great, much friendly and more engaging than those you see guarding rooms at bigger locations!

I visited here in October 2022. This is free to NT members and has welcoming and knowledgable staff/volunteers. It is a Georgian House and garden that you can explore. It also has a cafe.

Lovely afternoon here. Very informative guide who gave us the history of the place. Three-acre site om three floors with a basement. Great for children as there are several activities they can do throughout the house and in the grounds. It is well set-up for school and group visits. The information in the house touches on education, science and fashion. The gardens were nice and they have bees! Rainham Hall honey may be coming soon! Great cafe and outdoor area too. Nearest overground is Rainham Station or 287 bus from Barking Station. Suggest visiting Eastbury Manor on the same day as they are relatively close to each other. Definitely worth a visit.

Lovely little place! Quite a surprise! Quiet and serene next to a busy high street. The house itself quite interesting with the exhibition spread in three levels covering the various residents of the hall from 18th c. to 20th c. The café is highly recommended! Good coffee and a Victoria sponge to die for! The staff is simply amazing! From tickets to café staff they were happy to help, polite, and passionate about the site. We'll certainly be visiting again if only just for a relaxing coffee enjoying the gardens!

A very peaceful place to have a coffee and some quiet time with yourself or your loved ones. The garden is stunning, no matter what weather is outside. I adore coming there. 💕

The Trust and volunteers have dressed the house very well and created useful exhibitions on its history. Lots on offer for young kids and school groups. Beautiful gardens. The present focus is on the last tenant Anthony Denny, an interior designer who lived there in the 1950/60s. The cafe badly lets the experience down. We ordered hot paninis, a tuna melt and a ham & cheese melt. They were both truly awful. Hardly any filling and the tuna was a nasty paste 😛 and not cheap! The server who gave us a hot chocolate couldn't even be bothered to put it on a saucer and I had to lean over the counter to get one! Too bad.

A lovely visit today. Met by a friendly young lady in the cafe who directed us to the hall. Then met by a very helpful man at the front door who was pleased to tell us the history of the house. Very informative and charming he was too! It was great to hear the memories of the children who went to the nursery there. Gardens were looking lovely and colourful. A great visit ending in a vusit to the stable cafe for a cheeky slice of carrot cake...delicious!!!

A lovely little piece of tranquillity I went in late October so there was not much to see in the gardens but there were a lot of people digging and generally tidying up the grounds so I can imagine it must be lovely in spring and summer. It is usually £9 to go inside the house and gardens but today for some reason entrance to the gardens was free. I didn't go into the house but did visit the shop and tea room which was cosy and very atmospheric, the staff were very friendly and helpful. You can purchase produce from the gardens and there is an honesty box for pre-loved books which I thought was a nice touch. There is no parking but it was very easy to get to by public transport a 2 min walk from the station and bus stops or you can park in Tesco car park which is free for up to 3 hours for shoppers.

We didn't know this existed but it was a gem of a find. The staff were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. Give it a visit. We'll worth it.

A really lovely team and a lot of love and care for volunteers, beautiful gardens, and a lovely coffee shop can not wait to start my group project there.

Very atmospheric place to visit; interesting grounds to walk round, knowledgeable guides, reasonable entry fee. All in all, a lovely day out!

A lovely property which is really worth a visit. When we arrived, we were directed to a room where a guide came and told us the history of the place. When he had finished we were led into the house where another guide started to give us a talk. She was lovely, but a bit hard to understand. I politely explained that we would rather just walk round the building ourselves and ask questions when we wanted to. We continued to explore at our own pace and really enjoyed the visit.

A lovely small community garden to visit and enjoy with tea rooms. The main house is only open certain days

Lovely staff, house and gardens, shame about the parking issue and no food in the cafe. Apparently they ran out just after 12. Hardly anyone else at the house visiting, it doesn't open till 11am and pre booking required. So not sure why? Worth a visit anyway but more than once, not so sure.

Lovely gardens and great exhibition; currently showing the works of acclaimed photographer Anthony Denny who lived at Rainham Hall. Wonderful helpful knowledgeable staff and volunteers and cosy coffee shop. The house itself has a warmth to it.

Not the tour I was hoping for. Was left to wander most of it on our own. Only given some information on the ground floor. Cafe is seriously expensive no where near worth the money charged for what we got. Staff are very friendly though which made up for some of it.

The garden is absolutely marvellous. The design is impeccable and great to discover and wander around. It's maintained by community groups which makes it feel even warmer and friendlier. The NT staff were so warm and welcoming - the nicest of any NT place I've visited. I didn't manage to get to visit the Hall on the this visit.
