This is a lovely new restaurant. Clean and comfortable seating. We had 3 mains… fried chicken, eel and japchae. It was all quite tasty. I’ll definitely come back soon….

Definitely a hidden gem in New Malden area. This Korean restaurant located at the back of the Seoul Plaza convenience store. With delicious Korean and Japanese cuisine, very friendly services. It has open seating area, and private rooms if booked in advance. Highly recommended.

Definitely a hidden gem as the other reviews say. Loved in the area a long time and never knew this was here. It’s located inside the Seoul Plaza at the back. Great food, quick and friendly service at great prices. Worth a visit!

Went there, we ordered spicy tofu soup and beef yakisoba, the young guy brought us a bowl of rice with the soup, we thought it came with the soup, then he brought us a seafood pancake which we didn't order, so we told him it's probably for the other table. Later on when we asked for the bill, we found out they are charging us for the rice, we said we didn't order that, we thought it came with the soup just like all other Korean restaurants which we went nearby. The owner (who took our order) then came, we thought he'll apologise and take it off the bill, as he should know we didn't order the rice, it was obviously his staff's mistake, but no, he didn't care, he just said, we touched it, so we had to pay for it, and other restaurants increased the price by including the rice but he didn't (that has nothing to do with us...). In the end we didn't wanna argue so we paid, but basically we had to pay for their mistake, that's a very bad customer service!!! The food is not better than other restaurants on the high street, so I'll never ever go back.

This is better than most of the five star restaurants in London. I tried the seafood pancake, soft shell crab, salmon tartare, spicy stir fried squid and egg fried rice, complimentary Kimchi. Everything was delicious, and the only problem is I don't live nearby. The chef is lovely and makes you feel at home. Thank you for making my soul happy 😊 There is free parking nearby on the side streets, please bear in mind I went on a Tuesday lunchtime. Access might be restricted for wheelchair users but ample space inside. I'd recommend booking ahead for evenings and weekends. The menu is not available online, but it's quite extensive and reasonably priced. I bought 3 starters, 2 mains, 1 side and 2 soft drinks, and it roughly came to £75, service charge included. Try the seafood pancake, you won't be disappointed.

This is a real hidden gem. Currently it’s at the back of an Asian supermarket but when your inside it’s a really nice authentic atmosphere. They are actually moving soon to new Malden high street. The people were very welcoming and really adds to the atmosphere. The service we couldn’t fault. For us the food took slightly long time to come but…… we were rushing to catch the bus and I have to say when the food did come you can see why it takes a bit longer it was fresh hot and very tasty. You can immediately taste that it had been made fresh so it’s well Worth that bit of extra time to wait. Every dish we had we all agreed was the best Korean food we have tried not just in London but across the UK. Price wise a couple of dishes did see quite expensive mainly the seafood ones but again for the quality and the passion they put in to the food you don’t mind paying that bit extra. I look forward to going back to the new location and trying more delicious food

Really high quality Korean food. Such a surprise to find a place like this at the back of the Seoul Plaza store. The food and ingredients were fresh and tasty, and pricing was also fair. We had a crunch prawn maki, very yummy the prawn was fried just right. The raw fish rice bowl was huge and fresh (salmon). The pollock stew tasted like it used only good ingredients and no additives. And the spicy squid was just right in texture, can clearly tell the chef has done a lot of prep work.

I really like this place. Being in new Malden so good Korean food is everywhere, but Lotte still manages to stand out with a few tricks. 1st their Japanese menu is really good, yes they have a lot of Japanese food on offer and their Japanese dishes are probably the best one in this area 😜. They also manage to have a bit interesting twist on some Korean dishes.

What a hidden gem! We were slightly worried about going as there is no website/menu online. We arrived at what seemed like a little convenience store. You go into the convenience store and walk through to the restaurant entrance at the back. It’s a beautiful, clean, little spot. Our host was very welcoming and helped us set a menu that was absolutely delicious. The seafood was fresh, and the menu variety was impressive. The photos don’t do it justice. The price was very reasonable as well. Will definitely be returning!!

By far one of my favourite places to go in New Malden! This secret restaurant is tucked away at the back of a Seoul Plaza convenience store hidden from the main street and specialises in Korean and Japanese cuisine. Price has always been pretty affordable, fairly standard in comparison to the other small Korean restaurants on the High Street but absolutely worth it. Their sushi and sashimi selection is no joke and the ramen soup noodle bowls are massive. One of my favourite starters has got to be the takoyaki, not many places outside of central do them! There are also private rooms at the back that can fit up to 6 or 7 people that you can call to book in advance. The owner and staff are lovely and very friendly, I highly recommend visiting - but be warned, it's very easy to become a regular here! 😂 I will be back soon!

We are locals and we have been twice to have dinner and no matter how delicious the food is, I sadly have to say that due to the loud and buzzy music, I wouldn’t want to return :( Good food and good music merge well together and the loud music it just kills the atmosphere of enjoying the food and having a relaxed dinner etc. In my opinion it is not just about how good the food is, but also how pleasant the atmosphere is, created by good music and good customer service. Im not sure how others feel but for me if I want to try Korean and Japanese cuisine, I’d be much grateful to listen to some chilled Korean or Japanese music. That’s just a suggestion😊 Nevertheless the food was one of the best I’ve had in a long time 👌🏼

We choose here to meet friends out of many other options in New Malden on a Saturday. We ordered the tasty soup and free rice provided which was nice. The atmosphere was cosy and great for gathering. The only thing that stopped me giving more stars was the lady (older aunty) who served us refused to provide us extra hot water for my friend's tea top up request. She showed us her annoyed face and eventually she provided half a cup of the hot water. Come on, half cup?? Not sure where the customer service stands at that scenario? Guess she just wants to get rid of us as we have paid. Sorry, thumb down for that customer service lady ....

An absolute hidden gem in the city, it’s hidden behind the Korean convenience shop. The food were absolutely amazing and the prices were relatively cheaper than usual Korean restaurants 🤩

It’s a small cosy Korean restaurant with a few Japanese dishes and sushi at the back of the little seoul plaza. We really enjoyed the food and the staff was lovely! Definitely will be back to try more of their menu. They are quite small so I would recommend booking a table in advance.

This Korean and Japanese restaurant is hidden at the back of the Seoul Plaza 2 shop by New Malden Fountain Roundabout, behind a sliding door. They serve Korean and Japanese food, though we weren't able to have sushi because the sushi chef wasn't there yet (so I assume a different chef for Korean food and different for Japanese food). Delicious well-seasoned food, good portions and very nice peaceful place. We called their mobile number to reserve a table for Sunday lunchtime but when we arrived it was very quiet with only one other table eating there. They do takeaways but don't have any printed takeaway menus, it's just whatever you like from the "full" eat-in menu. Will definitely be back!

The place hidden is behind a korean food shop. They offer unusual menu which other Korean restaurant don't have. Serving is a bit slow since only 2 ladies are working, but they are friendly. I do not recommend soup based dishes. I tried several soup based dishes and most of them were disappointing. Such as seafood with noodle soupand fish cake soup are not recommended. However, bean paste soup was ok. Ask for recommendation from the lady who serves. This restaurant is not recommended for people who try Korean food for the first time.

Possible the best Korean Restaurant in London- if you can find it. Hint: it's the back of the Seol supermarket. And once in, you will not regret it. From the delicious seafood pancake, beef bulgogi and chilli squid - yes I recommend them all. You simple can not go wrong. Just go and be amazed.

Lovely restaurant with really good food and nice service. We went here on a weekday so was really empty at night. It can be hard to find this place as you have to first walk through a Korean supermarket. Highly recommend going here if you're looking for some good quality, authentic food. Tried the bulgogi, spicy octopus, seafood pancake, kimchi fried rice, kimchi stew, snail salad and karaage - all really good

This restaurant really stands out when you’re driving down the main high street. Maybe because it is quite new, it’s well lit and clear to see inside in comparison to other Korean restaurants. The portions were generous, we did not finish our food! I went for dinner with my friend and we both spent approx. £30pp, drink each/ 2 starters to share / main dish each. For a quick easy choice, I’d definitely come back again.

Amaizing place and every plate of food was perfect. The kimchi rice and kimchi stew were heavenly. The mixed BBQ meat quality was great and cooked perfectly. Really enjoyed my time here and looking forward to coming back again 😁

Amazing food and brilliant service - the special rolls are incredible, as was the sashimi. The spicy fish mains were both delicious too - highly recommended this hidden gem! Very fun restaurant experience

A lovely restaurant now named Kumkang which is accessed through a Korean food shop (Seoul Plaza). The extensive menu is a mix of Korean and Japanese food and everything we tried was excellent. We went as a large group so tried a wide variety of dishes and would recommend the spicy pollock, oyster pancakes, spicy pork as well as all the sushi and sashimi which was wonderfully fresh. We can't wait to go again.

Hidden behind a Korean lit shop. Service is nice & friendly. Went with husband and kid. She absolutely loved the sushi 🍣 and my hubs had the ramen. I had a lively fish soup. Defo a place I want yo come back.

Hidden gem in the back of a traditional grocery store in a bust stop. Just walk past the freezer cabinets and you will see the small door. Authentic throughout. Freshly prepared and plentiful portions, worth a visit.

Its hidden behind the supermarket/convenient store… so you need to enter the store first and find the restaurant entrance inside the store We went for lunch, it was empty…. Food was good but a litttle bit too salty…

I ordered spicy chicken, spicy sea nail salad, Bossam, and soup. Most of the food is very tasty and good. This place should be one of the best places to enjoy Korean food. I will be the regular here.
