Fantastic hotel with fantastic service. Due to Ramadan we were fasting, the hotel arranged breakfast 2:30am and delivered it to our room so we could observe our religious fasts and still eat. Mouhamed on the reception desk was really helpful as. Went above and beyond in every aspect. Would recommend this hotel to anyone

We had a fab weekend, the hotel was lovely and clean, pleasant staff, the food was good, breakfast was perfect. The Docklands Light Railway has a stop within very easy walking distance enabling you to get into central London very easily, this is now our go to hotel, you will not be disappointed.Thank you so much

One of the happiest hotels we’ve stayed at! I checked in for a night because aloft was fully booked when we wanted to bring forward our trip. The staffs are always happy and smiling. Very pleased with their service. Breakfast is included as well. When we moved over to Aloft the next day (although it was more expensive) but the happiness index fell by 80%! People there were miserable compared to Holiday Inn Express! And it’s just down the road!

Nice, clean hotel with super easy access to London City Airport. Restaurant is open late of you need quick bites, or there is a good Chinese restaurant on the waterfront about a ten minute walk away. Staff was very pleasant, helpful, and accommodating. I would stay here again, especially if I had an early flight out of London City. Lots of Uber available in the area for a quick ride across the river to the terminal. Would stay here again.

It's a comfortable travel experience. The room was clean and large, and the breakfast was rich in variety and delicious. The most important thing is that the staff are very kind and friendly, Joyti is very friendly and helpful, always smiling and welcoming.

Staff were unfailingly friendly and helpful (& very sweet towards our 4 year old). Room lovely and clean. Breakfast filling and a nice selection of hot and cold food available. I would happily stay again if I were in the area.

Hotel service was good. The rooms were small with no locker facility. The location of the hotel was quite difficult to be found. The hotel offered parking spaces with fee which i think its not bad. The breakfast served was also good.

Jyoti and kiranjeet have been very good. They are very gentle kind and good at their services. Room needs a private fridge and a microwave at least and. Jug of water from kitchen not bathroom. A shuttle bus should also be provided by hotel because it’s far away from city center.

We had an incredible stay at this hotel in London! The reasonable prices, proximity to a metro station for easy access to the city center, and the exceptionally friendly staff made my experience truly delightful. Highly recommend!

What an awesome staff. Kiranjit is worth mentioning for her service, do ask for her when you are there. She is the best. At front desk Eva is just awesome and so helpful! Entire staff is very kind — i will stay here, again and again. Great place!

Conveniently located a few minutes from the light rail station. Large room. Best breakfast buffet I have ever had at a business hotel. Impeccable service, clean, modern. Comfortable bed, quiet, great sleep.

We recently had to find a venue to host a gathering of about 40 people for refreshments after a funeral. This developed into a formidable task until I approached the marvelous management and staff at the London Excel Holiday Inn Express. Even though the time frame was short, nothing was too much trouble and the thoughts and suggestions offered made the whole process so much easier for us. I had not been charged with making such arrangements before, but I had nothing to worry about, as on the day it could not have been better. Everyone who attended was extremely impressed by the quality of the buffet provided, and no one left hungry or thirsty. Our special thanks must go to Chris and Susan for their immense efforts in ensuring everything ran smoothly, they are both truly a credit to Holiday Inn.

Room was very clean and tidy, included iron and ironing board, tea/coffee, TV, bathroom supplies etc, staff were really welcoming and friendly and couldn't have done anymore to provide a great service. Breakfast was served piping hot and was tasty. The location worked out brilliantly for us too. No complaints from me!

Was on site with my family. Nice, clean and friendly hotel. The rooms are new and make a good impression. The staff is very helpful. The breakfast buffet is good. The hotel is not far from City Airport. However, the noise is not noticeable. It is also only a few minutes walk from the DLR station.

We got this hotel from Costco travel, booked for December. We requested for adjoining rooms and they made necessary arrangements. On weekdays morning breakfast from 6 to 10AM on weekends 7 to 11AM and it was included with our stay. The breakfast is a limited menu but it was good. This hotel is right opposite to train station, also there was a cable car facility nearby. I could not try both the service but people told it is good. We booked taxis from the front office for airport drop it was very good. Do not forgot to checkout the front desk for any tour package. To London attraction the excel location is little far, but since we stayed for a week time we wanted a budget friendly stay and excel was perfect.

One of the worst hotels we’ve ever stayed in. Don’t even know where to start. The room wasn’t very clean, mould in the shower, dirty scratched walls, constant loud humming from the AC. The worst was the fold out sofa we had in our room. It’s like sleeping on metal rods and the mattress is totally inadequate and doesn’t give any support. We’ve asked for a mattress topper twice but got complete ignored and never received one. Also, don’t bother buying any food there in the afternoon, it’s all just frozen stuff. The staff even admitted they’ve run out of frozen pizzas that day. My daughter had the most horrible chicken nuggets ever, burnt to a crisp and had stomach problems afterwards. The bar and ‘restaurant’ staff were terrible and lazy. Didn’t bother cleaning any of the tables around us and we were there for almost an hour. Meanwhile 3 of the staff were standing chatting behind the bar but did not bother to clean up. I’d suggest you find a different hotel and avoid this one at all cost. It’s not worth it.

Stayed two nights. It was Ok for a basic hotel. Relaxing atmosphere, Clean, enjoyable buffet style breakfast. Quite area but convenient for travel to areas of the city. The rooms were on the smaller size and although the showers were big, we had to go and find somewhere to buy coffee and milk to make a drink. There was only a small amount in the room and it wasn't topped up during our stay. I'd have loved a bath. Especially as all my muscles were achy after trying to sleep in the bed. The major issue was the bed, which I understand is a personal preference and difficult to get right for everybody. However for me, it was the most uncomfortable bed I've ever tried to sleep in. I didn't sleep for either night which left me overtired and my entire body ached from the uncomfortable bed. It was very firm, although I'd say hard. No give in it at all. Any position I tried left my body hurting in the area it came in contact with the bed. Extra pillows might have helped me become more comfortable. I liked the area, it was quiet but convenient. However I wouldn't be likely to return just because I was unable to get any sleep and left feeling sore and achy.

It's a good hotel and convenient for attending conferences at Excel London. The staff is really friendly, especially the personnel at breakfast. The breakfast was good, could use a bit of variety though, it was the same for 4 straight days. All in all, a decent conference hotel.

Good little hotel and the breakfast was great! Small rooms and the AC was working.....kinda. No mini fridge, but they would give you ice upon request. We enjoyed our stay but we would choose somewhere else if we came back to London.

Nice room. Clean and comfortable. The food menu was a little disappointing. It all seemed to be pre-prepared. The staff varied in the way they interacted with clients. Really good breakfast choices. Very near to London City Airport.

We’ve stayed here a few times now and always impressed with the level of service provided. Rooms are very clean and equipped with all necessities. Breakfast is very good with a good selection of items. Location is perfect and DLR station a 2 minute walk away.

I stayed here recently and it's a very nice hotel. Staff are very helpful and service with a smile. Menu is a little limited but adequate. I was not so happy with one of my rooms as we use this hotel often, being close to Excel and having two different rooms over a week or so. There's no toilet brush in the rooms, and when you are sharing it's something that is a must, for obvious reasons, also water not draining away in shower, as was bunged up with hair, myself and room mate cleaned it ourselves as just wanted to shower, this is something that should be checked regularly by hotel staff, no excuse. I did speak to the manager, who was very apologetic and said we could move rooms, who wants to move rooms after a hard day's work , but this should not happen if proper cleaning and maintenance are carried out. Also, one of my colleagues had his van broken into while in their car park, and all tools stolen, they do have CCTV which is a total waste of time, as it would appear no one watching it, this was not the only vehicle broken into while we we there. Security is non-existent when you consider this a car park you pay them for, and they should take responsibility for a service you pay for. On the whole I like the hotel but there's clearly some things they need to address.

Great breakfast, staff working hard to take care of breakfast area and keeping up with the crowd. The only thing about this hotel that I didn’t give 5 stars is the shower had mold in it. Now I have not been to different hotels in London, this is my first, but other than that, it was a great experience and definitely recommend it.
