I went there a couple years ago and I am still appalled by my experience as a year 12 student. I explained to them that I was retaking my first year because I was bullied at my last school, which led me to have severe social anxiety. This made it very difficult for me to feel comfortable during lessons. My mum also got very sick during this period, which just made things worse for me. I talked about this with the head and received a lot of support at first, but his words never translated into actions. There is one particular person that I must mention as I find her behaviour unacceptable: Their sociology teacher. As great and charismatic as she was, she was also very forceful and would put me in really distressing situations on purpose, as she seemed to think my social anxiety would disappear if she forced me to talk in front of my peers during her lessons. It didn't matter that my mind was blank, my face red, my eyes watery and at the brink of a panic attack-- she would not let me go back to my desk until I said something, so the amount of times I cried silently at the back of her class was innumerable. She was aware of my condition as I had already told the head about how her actions made it very hard for me to learn in class or get any points for participation. I even tried to talk to her, but she was very intimidating and wouldn't let me explain myself. This affected my grades and my self esteem massively. She just didn't care, so eventually I stopped going to her lessons and instead of reaching out she dropped me out of sociology without talking to me first. I feel for anyone who has her. She could be very rude and didn't seem to understand that not everyone learns her way. This situation, mixed with my mum's poor heath and my own mental health became too overwhelming, so I ended up dropping out.

All the new teachers that this school has hired to replace the ones that left are totally incapable of controlling their classes who’s means less learning time for the students and most of them are quite unorganised when it comes to teaching and they rarely dismiss students at 3:00pm, the time when the school day is finished. These teachers lack patience when it comes to students and set detentions for pointless reasons. The secondary phase has years 7-11 and the cafeteria is not much bigger than a standard classroom. Food and drinks from the Oasis cafeteria are quite overpriced e.g. a TINY chicken wrap for £1.60 or a 330ml sparkling flavoured water drink for 60p when you can get 1 litre of the same thing from the Tesco express not too far from the school for 50p. The quality of the burgers they sell there are not worth £1.50. The meat inside the lamb burgers are too thin and the meat inside the chicken burgers are YELLOW. I don’t know what kind of artificial food colouring the kitchen staff at Oasis are using in that but I just hope that it’s not poisonous because people have been eating that stuff. The school has introduced this system called SSA (Silent, Seated, Attentive) which is also a waste of lesson time. Another unnecessary thing that staff has been doing for student is line up after lunchtime. This is another waste of teachers and students time as teachers have to leave their classrooms in order to walk their class to lesson. Students’ time is wasted this way as some of the teachers are not even out on time for line up. Students are given detentions form being late to line up however no one says anything when a teacher doesn’t turn up to line up, which is unfair treatment. This school is nothing to be proud about and I find it hard to believe that it was once ‘Outstanding’.

This school is a fantastic school where the teachers care passionately about their students. The pastoral care is really good and the students are supported to do exceptionally well. Academically the school supports each student to improve on their own pathway. They understand that not everyone has access to a quiet place to study and they also put on great and inclusive summer and winter shows. The art department is creative, absorbing and fun. The science, maths and English and languages are also excellent plus they have strong music, drama, pe and dance department. The sixth form is one of the best in Croydon. Do not write this school off.

This school was the worst thing to ever happen to me. Biggest cause of stress and anxiety I've ever had. There's like only 3 teachers here who actually care about there job. Go to this school if you want a faulty education and depression.

İt's terrible education wise as the teachers are not experienced. Children are bullied and ignored by racist teachers. I highly recommend you NOT to take your child there as they will come back home with stress and not learning anything. The children that I know have lost self confidence and hate school now. Our older son came here 3 years ago ,which apart from a few teething problems ,he thoroughly enjoyed. Am now in the process of looking at schools again so will be interesting to see if/how attitudes have changed .

it was alright some staff lack experience and knowledge of subjects their teaching in secondary, however a lot of passion for helping students. If your child is above average in intellect they shall be neglected.
