Amazing museum. They have unique aircraft. It is possible to reach by train from Moscow, but the museum is a bit far from the Monino station. I recommend going by taxi. Not very expensive from Moscow.

(Translated by Google) Inexpressible sensations, contradictory emotions from almost religious awe to horror and compassion, childish delight, pride in compatriot designers, bordering on resentment at the representatives of the country's leadership, from which my heart squeezes - this is what remained in my soul as a gift from visiting the Central Museum of the Russian Air Force ... The beauty of these huge winged machines is breathtaking! Yes, all of them have already flown off their own, and, most likely, none of them will ever take off, but each plane gives a unique feeling of flight to everyone who sees them! Special thanks to the combat pilot Alexey Alexandrovich Drachev for an interesting conversation, energy, love for his profession and his family cars! I strongly advise everyone to visit this place!

Absolutely amazing airspace museum. Some of the rarest airplanes made in the Soviet Union and Russia is here. I am highly impressed with the collection and the facts. A bit upset on the upkeep of the planes and artifacts, probably due to funding , and the lack of information and facts on some planes. Otherwise a must visit. But do come in the warm period. I visited in the winter and it was cold but still enjoyable. Would recommend to anybody. Even with children

(Translated by Google) A very cool Museum. It is especially interesting to be here for dads with boys, but the female tribe is also interesting. Eyes run up from different planes, there are a lot of questions (I don't know if there are excursions here). I managed to visit only the open area. The ticket price is 150 rubles for adults, children under 7 years old are free. The closed pavilions are, alas, closed for now .... I will definitely come back here again.

The entire history of the domestic aircraft industry is presented. Interesting for both children and adults (Original) For aviation fans (like me) the visit is well worth the travel time to get there from Moscow City: A large selection of Russian military aircraft from between the two world wars to current times. Most of the few indoor exhibits are only with explanations in Russian, most of the outdoor exhibits have English spec sheets, too. The TU-144 is very special to see! We had a great opportunity to enter the fuselage and cockpit of the largest helicopter of the world: A technician let us in through a side door! Impressive!! The entry fee is relatively cheap, the memorabilia shop ok. The lady there very friendly. The travel with the Russian railway from Yaroslavsky station took about an hour and didn't cost much. To the "non-aviation-enthusiast" visitor a warning: The overall maintenance of the place is not exactly outstanding, some of the exhibits are not in a good condition - I guess they're fighting budget problems.

I took the train with some friends out to the Central Air Force Museum (Moscow) to see planes. The museum has lots of older aircraft and I an glade to see they are resorting some too. The signs are small but you can find with a smartphone.

It took a 90 minute train ride and walking a mile to get here, but it was worth it. Some of the most beautiful planes I'll ever see. So happy to know that the Tu-144 is getting a full restoration due to the contributions of visitors. I gladly put 100 rubles in the donation box.

Visited on august 25 2017. Payed 400 roubles for 2. Nice all russian military aircraft. The place is not really well maintained, neither are the planes, except for the tu 144 Worth the long travel from moscow if you are an aviation fan.

This museum owns real wonders of the SSSR-era military aviation, including some aircraft unique in the world like the Myasishshev M-50 and the Sukhoi T-4. Are also present civilian aircraft like the Tupolev Tu-114 prototype and one of the few remaining supersonic Tupolev Tu-144s; you can also see the largest helicopter ever built and a very rare exemplary of the Tu-4 bomber (Soviet copy of the American B-29). The ticket price is very low (200 ₽). Easy to reach by train from Moscow Yaroslavskiy Train Terminal.

(Translated by Google) Perfect place. Having been here I just blissed out. You definitely need to visit here when the snow melts and it will be warmer. Aviation is something. Recommend. 20th century, this is the century of aviation, every year from 1 to 3 aircraft were produced, not like now, and what kind. Proud for the USSR. Minus what's going on now, "effective managers" rule. For me, our aviation is in f ** k now, it's a shame.

(Translated by Google) Quite a large and interesting museum for aviation lovers. Audio guides have recently appeared for an additional fee, where you can learn basic information about the plane and the history of the plane in front of you. Now about the cons: 1. the state of the aircraft - funding for the museum seems to be very weak; 2. To get of course is far away (conditional minus). Well, in winter you don't walk on an open area for a long time - it's cold. Otherwise, be sure to visit. The staff are great. I would also like to be able to see (visit) the inside of the aircraft (cockpit, cabin).

By scanning the Satelitte view, I see several additions and relocations since 1993. I also see a B-25...which makes me wonder if thst was the Doolittle Raider from Vladevostok. The only intact of those. As a member of the Pearson Airpark Historical Society, we tried to reacquire it as it really belings in the US..but the USAF managed to bungle that all up, and they refused. As Pearson was part of Russian History, we provided a better chance to get it, but the concern was that, once the aircraft were in our hands, the USAF would commandeer it and the Russians be damned. So looks like now she is left to the harsh Russian winters to see her end

The Central Air Force Museum is an aviation museum in Monino, Moscow Oblast, Russia. A branch of the Central Armed Forces Museum, it is one of the world's largest aviation museums, and the largest for Soviet aircraft, with a collection including 173 aircraft and 127 aircraft engines on display. The museum also features additional displays, including Cold War-era American espionage equipment, weapons, instruments, uniforms, artwork, and a library containing books, films, and photos is also accessible to visitors. The Central Air Force Museum is located on the grounds of the Gagarin Air Force Academy on the site of the former Monino Airfield, 40 kilometers (25 mi) east of Moscow. The origins of the museum go back to 1940 when the village of Monino was selected to be the location of the Gagarin Air Force Academy. The museum itself was founded in 1958, two years after the airfield was closed, and had 6 aircraft and 20 aircraft guns at the time. When it opened to the public another two years later in 1960, it had 14 aircraft. By early 1970, the museum's collection had expanded to about 40 aircraft. In 1990, the aircraft on display were rearranged according to design bureau and chronological order. The museum's main hall was mostly destroyed by fire in 2005. By 2013, a new hangar had been built to house the World War II aircraft. In 2016, it was reported that the museum was to close, with the exhibits being transferred to Patriot Park. Prior to 1999, the museum was closed to the public, because of the display of classified prototypes from the era of the former Soviet Union.[citation needed]. Today, the museum contains a range of aircraft, both domestic and foreign, including military, civil and special purpose. The museum also houses associated pieces, such as the uniforms, documents, models and equipment related to the aircraft. The museum is currently open to members of the public to visit.
