Kalasha Museum is also known as Bumburate Museum. They have a huge and beautiful material about kalasha people life style. Museums are without doubt a storehouse of a particular nation’s history and culture. Through their exhibits, they chart the course of the country’s development. Museums often describe a nation’s journey from prehistory to modernity, and this description is enriched by the display of historical artifacts such as tools, weapons, clothes and jewelry.

Kalasha Museum located in Chitral District of KP, Pakistan is also known as Bamborate Museum. On the ground floor of museum there are about 1300 objects exhibited which are of Ethnological interest from the Kalasha Tradition and from the traditions of the wider Hindu Kush area. There is a School for the Kalasha children on the first floor and a library on third floor. The Kalasha Dur Museum construction work started in 2001 and was completed in 2005.

Kalasha Dur Museum, also known as Bumburet Museum, is a museum located in Bumburet area of Kalash Valley Chitral with a beautiful view of the valley. also known as the Kalasha dur (House of the Kalasha People or Cultural Centre for the Kalasha) The Beautiful two floors building has a wide lawn in the front and it is constructed with stones and wood 🪵. The ground floor has the cultural collection of the Kalasha and the first floor is used as a school 🏫 for locals with a library of books written on the valley, and also a hall for professional training of local crafts. a number of objects are on the display depicting history, culture, tradition, cuisine, dressing and way of life of Kalasha people. The collection has traditional utensils, indigenous dresses, jewelry, musical instruments, furniture, pictorial depiction, weapons etc.… a traditional flour grinder (which functioned with flowing water) is on display in the lawn. I hope people enjoy a go through of the history and culture. Respect every culture and ethnicity Here are some pictures from kalash museum. Please note some points before visiting it. 1=you need to buy tickets which cost only 200 pkr per person 2=if you are going to take photos from inside the museum then you have to buy separate ticket for photography which cost 150pkr per person 3=Museum has 2 floor with 10pkr you can only visit ground floor, if you want to go up side/1st floor then you have to pay 300pkr/person. Please do contribute to buying tickets because the amount you paid for tickets will be use for the wellbeing for the local community.

This is a wonderful place to visit when at Bumburet Valley to learn and appreciate Kalasha culture. Funny enough, its been funded by the Greek government, but is very well organized and displays stuff from clothing to their history and artifacts. A must see if you're at Bumburet and want to learn more about the people who live there.

Kalasha Meuseum is a pleasant surprise visiting Kalash Valley. The architecture of the building, design and details inside the museum are a great sight. It gives a very good idea about Kalash culture. The school next to the museum is also very nice. You can get the ticket to visit the school as well. The museum is closed on Fridays.

Two years ago i travelled to chitral. Then i went to explore Bumburet, Kailash Valley. I dropped off near a building named Kailash Museum. Bumburet Valley Museum, also known as the Kalasha dur (House of the Kalasha People). Kalasha Dur is a place where a number of collected objects could be displayed. The building is composed of two floors; the ground floor has the collection of the Kalasha culture and the wider hindu kush area and the other floor houses a school of Kalasha culture with a library of books written on the valley, and also a hall for professional training of local crafts. It is wonderful building with great collection of different kinds of weapons, house hold items, ornaments, clothes, instruments, tools for working in fields etc representing the ancient history of Kailash. It is beautiful place for visit during explore of valley.

(Translated by Google) I visited Kalash Valley with my friends. 1999 may be 2000. Kalash Valley where people still have culture, customs and traditions. Of the other world They are very different from culture, customs and traditions The Kalash Valley is home to 4,000 years of beautiful culture. Kalash Valley consists of 4 valleys namely Bamborti, Rimbor, Beer, Avon. Bamburit and Rimbor are discovered and popular among domestic and foreign tourists. In fact, Kalash is the religion of the community in which the Kalash Valleys live, their unique culture, tradition and dressing are extraordinary. The Muslim community also resides in the Kalash Valleys. The women of the community Kalasha wear their traditional dress every time, even school children wear traditional clothes during school. Although Muslims and Kalash live together in the Kalash valleys. Kalash Valley is located in Chitral District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province, Pakistan The Bomborte meets the Rimber Valley and then joins the Kunar Valley in the village of Avon, 20 km south of Chitral. The Kalasaha Museum is part of a three-story building that houses all six departments that constitute KAL’AS’A DUR or the House of Kalasha. The Museum exhibits are housed at ground floor. The building is a beautiful specimen of local ancient architectural style using logs and local stone. The establishment of the KAL’AS’A DUR was financed by the Hellenic Aid of the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The museum itself is an absolute work of art. The museum looks like an ancient Kalash House itself with the way it's been curated. It was designed by a Greek man and showcases the true essence of the Kalasha cultural heritage. Anybody who visits Kalash Valley, please don't forget to view the Kalash Musuem it's absolutely wonderful.

A walk back in time to savor the history of a clamied 4000 years old tribe of people who stayed predominantly unchanged for millennia. The artifacts seen here are priceless considering that they depict the culture of Kalash Tribe spanning thousands of years were still in use just few decades and some even till now. The differences between Red and Black Kafirs is indeed striking with such a beautiful manner to highlight it, based on the base color of fabric used by the ladies. The fabrics were handwoven wools of Red and Black colors.

Just like any other museum in the world it is built to preserve the historical beauty, culture and all the products that speak about it. The museum is constructed with woods and rocks like other buildings in the area. The built for purpose building has all the products of culture, old artefacts and even the oldest house of the valley which is estimated to be around 3000 years old. All the products at display are kept neatly but details and history is not available at hand. One needs a local tour guide to explain things.

A must visit when trekking through Bumburet, the museum features beautiful displays on the ethnographic elements of the Kalash as a distinct cultural group. One will find handicrafts no longer seen in Kalash households as modernization threatens the group's distinct identity. Mr. Jan Muhammad, a local guide, takes one through the exquisitely detailed window displays while describing how each item of clothing/pottery/weaponry etc. relates to the belief systems and communal lifestyle of the Kalash. Be sure to request his account of the local dances and how they relate to the Kalash calender. The artifacts are well-preserved and one can happily pass an hour going through the displays. The museum features a library and cultural school as well as a space for seminars etc. (all requiring the purchase of an additional ticket) Pictures require the purchase of a permit of sorts but it's well worth the additional (veritably insignificant) amount.
