Sure! Kumrat Valley is a stunningly beautiful valley located in the Upper Dir District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. Nestled in the Hindu Kush mountain range, it is known for its breathtaking landscapes, lush green meadows, crystal clear rivers, and snow-capped peaks. The valley is famous for its scenic beauty and is often referred to as the "Switzerland of Pakistan." Its untouched natural beauty and serene environment make it a perfect destination for nature lovers and adventure enthusiasts alike. One of the main attractions of Kumrat Valley is the Kumrat River, which flows through the heart of the valley. The river is fed by glaciers and snowmelt from the surrounding mountains, giving it a vibrant blue color. Visitors can enjoy boating, fishing, or simply relax by the riverside, listening to the soothing sound of the flowing water. The meadows in Kumrat Valley are a sight to behold. These lush green meadows, covered with wildflowers, are perfect for picnics and camping. The meadows also provide a great spot for photography enthusiasts, as they offer stunning panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. Kumrat Valley is also home to several majestic waterfalls. One of the most famous waterfalls in the valley is the Jahaz Banda waterfall, which cascades down from a height of approximately 300 feet. Visitors can trek to the waterfall and witness its beauty up close. For those looking for some adventure, Kumrat Valley offers several trekking and hiking trails. One of the most popular treks is the Katora Lake trek, which takes you to a small, turquoise-colored lake nestled amidst the mountains. The trek provides breathtaking views of the valley and is definitely a must-do for adventure seekers. In addition to its natural beauty, Kumrat Valley is also rich in cultural heritage. The valley is inhabited by the friendly and hospitable Kohistani people, who have their unique customs, traditions, and language. Visitors can experience the local culture by interacting with the locals, trying the traditional cuisine, and participating in cultural events and festivals. In conclusion, Kumrat Valley is a hidden gem in Pakistan's mountainous region that offers a perfect blend of natural beauty and cultural heritage. Whether you are a nature lover, adventure enthusiast, or someone looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life, Kumrat Valley has something to offer for everyone. So, pack your bags, and get ready for a memorable journey to this paradise on earth.

Kumrat is a valley in the Upper Dir District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. Kumrat Valley is located about 45 minutes away from the town of Thal on the banks of the Panjkora River, and is among the most popular tourist spots in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Road condition is not good from Sherengal. Stop your car in thal bazar then go further on jeap or bikes.

I think I had over expectations from this place due to all the hype. However after a gruelling 5 hours of off road track from Kalam I must say that Kumrat Valley is not worth it. There is not much to see after such a long and bumpy travel. The route from Dir is in much better condition but I was traveling from Kalam. All in all. Not a great place to visit.

It is an amazing place to spend your vacations with your friends and family. However, please keep in mind when with your family you need to take into account the travel journey to kumrat as its a bit rough, but once you're in kumrat, you can almost get anything from there. Hotels' prices range from 1000-45000 or even more per night depending upon your stay. I would recommend buying vegetables or meat from thal bazar and cooking them in kumrat as food can be expensive there.

One of the most beautiful places you can visit in Northern KP. It is family friendly to a certain extent. Locals (mostly) are very kind to tourists and hotels will have good enough rates. Being in such a remote area, toilet facilities are understandably limited and one should be mentally prepared for that. Bring/make your own food because local food is not very good. Do spend a whole day here and explore all the 5 points to which the locals will guide you. It's absolutely breathtaking in the morning though, so wake up to that!

We recently had a booking at 'The Latitude' and while the hotel stay, staff, and overall services were fantastic, we encountered some challenges with the route to the resort. Although the location of the resort is remote, it would be helpful for the resort to provide an accurate map considering the difficulty in accessing the area. This would greatly assist guests in finding their way without getting lost. During our journey, we faced considerable difficulties with the route. The travel time ended up being much longer than anticipated, lasting around 14 hours instead of the expected 8-9 hours from Islamabad. Additionally, the map provided seemed outdated and didn't account for the road damages caused by recent floods. This made the journey treacherous and potentially dangerous, as we navigated precarious cliffs and tried to avoid falling into rivers. Moreover, relying on a GPS proved challenging as there were two routes to the resort—one through remote villages and another via Kalaam. Unfortunately, we mistakenly took the route through Behrain in Kalaam, resulting in a detour and an additional 4-hour drive back to Chakdara. To save others from such inconveniences, I recommend avoiding the Kalaam route altogether. Furthermore, I must mention that the local villages along the way displayed unfamiliarity and, at times, inappropriate behavior towards women. This may make families uncomfortable during the journey, especially if traveling with loved ones. Finally, it's advisable not to bring a delicate or expensive car on this trip. The rough roads and outdated map can lead to accidents or damage to the vehicle. It's worth noting that the GPS won't guide you to the 'Moonlight Hotel,' where parking your car and continuing the journey via a Jeep is necessary. As a result, frequent inquiries about the correct path are required at every turn. While the resort itself is beautiful and the staff is incredibly friendly, the challenges with the route can dampen the overall experience. If you are seeking a peaceful retreat, it might be preferable to consider alternative options rather than enduring the hassle and potential risks associated with this particular journey. It is indeed a matter of concern that despite the substantial budgets allocated to them, government authorities often fail to prioritize the development of safe road infrastructure. If these authorities were to invest in creating well-constructed and secure roads, I firmly believe that people would have fewer reasons to travel to destinations like Switzerland in search of safer routes and scenic landscapes. By efficiently utilizing the tax revenue generated from hardworking individuals, the government has the power to significantly improve road networks across the country. Adequate funding and attention to road construction and maintenance can ensure the safety and convenience of travelers, thereby boosting domestic tourism and encouraging people to explore the beautiful landscapes within their own country. Investing in the establishment of safe road structures should be a priority for government authorities. This not only enhances the travel experience for citizens but also contributes to economic growth and local development. By providing reliable and well-maintained roads, the government can instill confidence in the public and alleviate the need to seek similar experiences abroad. It is crucial that the government takes the responsibility to allocate resources effectively, ensuring that taxpayer money is used to address critical infrastructure needs. By doing so, they can create a positive impact on the lives of citizens, fostering a sense of pride in their own country's offerings and reducing the dependence on foreign destinations for safe and scenic roadways.

It's a breathtakingly beautiful place with all the colours of nature. Even in summers, it gets really cold in the evenings. Kumrat's highlights are it's river, jungle, waterfall, and scenic views. It's real beauty starts after you've driven a couple of hours in the jungle. There's plenty of accomodation available in and around Kumrat depending on your budget.

Amazing place to visit, its a heaven on earth. Its in the KPK provinve of Pakistan. The sprinkle water from the chashmas, weather is so much amazing. You can have organic food. You should visit a place called abshaar. You can go there by car till the city of thal and park your car at commercial parking places provided by locals. Then you have to hire 4 x 4 jeep to go kumrat valley. You can buy trout fish. You can do camping at the forest, by taking your camps along or ask you hotel manager or tour guide to arrange it. It was outstanding fun to fry a fish on Riverside and to do Bar B Q.

A Beautiful valley ,a gift for creatures from Allah Taala. Very worst situation of road beyond Patrak. Better to park ur car etc somewhere in Patrak region and hire a jeep for kumrat, avoid taking your car or driving urself beyond that point , the jeepers there understand the road well, u will enjoy with them. Otherwise driving ur self will rot all your taste buds, very peaceful place and peace loving people , u can sleep anywhere in a tent even at the bank of river without any costly hotel room. Great hoteling experience at Grand Palace . Maskan hotel also is good, Cheaper hoteling available here and there . ...... A must go once area...but caution prevailing.

Good road till Shirangal (turning from Dir) approx 30 km. Bad road from Shirangl to Thal Bazar. Very bad and difficult track onwards to end Kumrat Valley. In all about 60km were realy tough in the blistering July heat. The track after Thal Bazar was tough yet interesting. The place it self is gift from Allah. Beautiful and serene....peaceful. However, noticeable was the highly shabby and poorly laid out commercial activity with absolutely no regard to the place, loacal population and nature. Some places were as littered as a garbage dump. Someone needs to take notice else in a couple of years we will loose this place. We camped in Kumrat almost at the end of track. Someone had camped there before us and thankfully had cleaned the place before leaving. I found it to ba a camping heaven if done in a responsible way. Solitude and privacy in abundance. A treat. Sufficient accommodation for all budgets are available and food was reasonably priced but not very good. Two main places to visit Waterfall and a Chashma(water spring). One can trek as well. The river is beautiful a couple of crossing places lead you to some very scenic places. Please visit the place with due respect and care. Clean before you leave and carry your trash for suitable disposal.

Kumrat - A Heaven on earth ! When the entire world was trying to cope with Corona, I found some solace in the scenery of Kumrat. The year 2020 was hit massively by Corona but still 60 thousand found their way towards Kumrat. I was one of them. Kumrat is indeed one of the most serene places of Pakistan. Amazed with stunning natural beauty, lush-green forests & magnificent waterfall. When the scorching heat of June was making the lives hard in urban areas, placing a finger in Panjkora river for 30 seconds was a Herculean task. It was indeed a memorable trip and would cherish the memories for life.

A must visit place for any tourist, traveller, hiker, trekker, nature lover. Mountains and meadows, springs and waterfalls, water and greenery. But you need to have time, energy and will to have long rough rides and stamina to hike the slopes. A brief guide to approach and journey: Twin cities to Chakdara: Motorways, smooth drive, approx 2 hrs. All vehicle road. Chakdara to Dir (Kumrat Gate): metalled but busy road, 4 hrs approx. All vehicles road. Dir (Kumrat Gate) to Thal: a mix of metalled, broken metalled and rough road. 3-4 hrs. Can travel through car or suv but jeep is recommended. Thal to Kumrat: Rough road. Aprrox 1 hr. People take there cars but have mercy on your urban drives and travel through jeep. Further travels from Kumrat or Thal to Waterfall or Jahaz Banda or Gabral (upper Swat) are all jeepable. Recommended places to visit: Kumrat waterfall and nearby riverbank (no hike or long walk) Jahaz Banda: 2 hrs jeep from Thal, then 2 hrs uphill hike. Kund Banda: 1 hr downhill hike from Jahaz Banda (and tough uphill on return). Katora Lake: 3-4 hrs hike from Jahaz Banda. MUST GO place: Kund Banda - combination of a beautiful waterfall, serene meadow and calm clear river flowing in between. Beautiful distant vistas too. Accommodation: You can camp or hire pitched tents at all places. Proper hotel facilities 1-3 star at Thal and Kumrat town. B&B/tent/huts at most places with limited washroom facilities.

Valley is beautiful 10/10..but roads are worse we have to travel only 30 km in 3 hour between patrak and thal and 2 hour between thal and kumrat for just 15 km distance .. If there is rush in day time it be double.

I loved the experience. Way better than Naran kaghan. Road to Kumrat valley is a tough one. 80 km will take 5 hours to reach kumrat valley. Hotel are decent and economic. My recommendation would be that don't just settle with valley go visit next stop such as waterfall, kala chashma and glacier. All in all best experience of my life ♥

The best tourist place for summer vacation though the road condition from temargarah to thal vellay is relatively bad.The lush green mountains with hundreds feets tall trees alongwith the river Panjkura side view increase its beauty to unmatchable peak.
