There is a good museum around bhamboor fort which presents history of fort and design. It contains pieces from mohenjodaro, ghandhara art, muslim history and other interesting artifacts from fort. However, the fort itself is in really bad condition due to poor maintence. You can only see the left over outer/boundary wall. In real there is very less to watch and relate. It looks like plain ground with some marking. Local guides are also available. Road to bhamboor fort is slightly bumpy but a less crowded road. Summer weather is very tough to bear heat. Children in carts and people on wheel chairs may find difficulty. Tickets are mandatory for entrance.

Bhambhore Fort is not yet a UNESCO site but it’s up for consideration. This place has the claim to fame as the site of the first mosque in South Asia circa 8th century. I was with my Pakistani guide/fixer Sajjad who travelled with me for about a week.

Nice place to visit, just an hour drive away from Karachi on National Highway with very easy access to this Fort. Remainings are in deteriorating condition but still worth watching. History states that Muhammad bin Qasim entered Sindh from this point, The Deebal port and conquered the area.

Bhambore fort is a historical place dating back to the Muslim period (8th century A.D). The first mosque of the South Asian is located here, made with thick solid red stone tiles. Many places of the fort have no guidance boards and there is still some space to be filled by Sindh government.

A 7th century and older archeological structure discovered in1958. That shows the civilization of that era. It is also believed to be the first point of entrance of Muslims in South Asia.

But I pray our archaeologists take some interest and excavate more for hidden treasures under sands of time. To attract more tourists.and please make side safe for travel. I love my country n I want to move free in every nook n corner of My Country

Bhanbhore or Bhambhore, is a city dating to the 1st century BCE located in modern-day Sindh, Pakistan. The city ruins lie on the N-5 National Highway, east of Karachi. It dates back to the Scytho-Parthian era[citation needed] and was later controlled by Muslims from the 8th to the 13th century, after which it was abandoned. Remains of one of the earliest known mosques in the region dating back to 727 AD are still preserved in the city. In 2004, Department of Archaeology and Museums Pakistan submitted the site for UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

One of the greatest historical treasures of Sindh. The museum houses numerous ancient articles ranging from 2nd century Ad to Mideaval times The sight needs to be explored further and the authorities should take more initiatives to preserve the ruins.

👍👍 This is it the location from where General Bin Qasim entered into the beach bay to attacked bhabore and conquer it. Bringing Islam to South Asia this is the birth of the religion and from here spread all across indo pak. It is a significant historic place which should be highlighted more by the tour...
