This is the historical place where the British fought with the Nawab Sirajdoullah. That was June 23 1757. There is only one monument that was built after independence. And there is a statue of Nawab Sirajdoullah. The war took place here but there is no historical content. So tourist do not go back in frustration efforts are underway to renovate it.

The place from where Bengal lost freedom in 1757. The war between Robert clive and Nawab Siraj Ud-daulah began here and unfortunatly due to betreyal Bengal lost its freedom. So this is a very important place, chapter for Indian History, but this place still being treated as adopted child from every Govt. Govt should make the place better for history preservation.

A must visit for every Indian. The battle Plassey changed the face of Indian history and also World history. British took over Indian after defeating Nawab Siraj & then dominated World history from Indian Dominion money. The rustic surrounding adds on the beauty of the place and gives a sense of nostalgia..

Palashi is a place of historical interest. It is located at a distance of about 50 km from Krishnanagar, and 30 km from Baharampur city. It is located near Murshidabad and Nadia districts. You can reach this place from Palashi station or Palashi bus stand. Along with it the Ganga flows and the famous sugar mill is situated next to it. The famous battle was fought here on June 23, 1757 between the last independent ruler of Bengal, Nawab Siraj ud-Daulah (1756-1757) and British forces led by Lord Clive.

I visited the Plassey War Monument only a few days ago. This place is situated near National Highway 34. The distance of the Plassey Battlefield Monument from National Highway 34 is approximately 3 KM. There is a statue of the Nawab Mirza Muhammad Siraj Ud-Daulah , then Nawab of Bengal and a Monument as a remembrance of Plassey Battle that happened against the British army in 1757. Although that battle was lost because of some backstabbing by Mirzafar but still it reminds us of how bravely Siraj Ud-Daulah fought that battle to save our nation and stop the british.

In between Nadia and Behrempur lies silently the monument where the Batlle of Plassey fought in 1757. Troops of East India Company led by Robert Clive fought with the 50000 soldiers of Nawab of Bengal Siraj-Ud-Dalah. The Nawab was betrayed by his commander Mir Jafar and his ministers, The Nawab lost the battle and Bengal itself lost to western colonisers. Bengal was annexed by British East India Company. #plassey #battleofplassey #plasseymonument

Historic battlefield. The Battle of Plassey in 1757 changed the course of the history of Bengal and subsequently, India itself. It was a major turning point for the EIC in the subcontinent. Considering the importance of the event, the monument is poorly maintained. Overgrown shrubs all around. Lack of maintainence and awareness and led to a downfall of tourists in this part of the town. Would love to see the govt take proactive measures to make this a part of the legacy of Bengal.

One of the most important places in modern Indian history. The battle of Plassey in 1757 ultimately shaped the destiny of this great nation. The monument is, on the contrary, standing alone without much attention. The fields around bear witness to the great battle between the English East India Company and the armies of independent Bengal's last nawab.

This place gives you the chill down the bones ehen you come to think that India lost it's independency for the next 200 yrs. right here. Place is not very well maintained though. It has a Gate while entering from highway and a pillar at location. Though locals around told us actual place is further diwn the field where you an go by foot only. Place is dilapidated with only one tea shack around. I think this important monument needs a bit more care and promotion.

The Plassey Monument tells us all about the " Plassey War " 0n 23 June , 1757 .British East India Company, led by Robert Clive, came up against the forces of Siraj-ud-Daulah, the last Nawab of Bengal . Here Nabab Siraj's status are seen in front of the monument . But it should conserved as soon as possible.

I live in Plassey. Though I have a passionate side for my own hometown, still I will not give it 5 star. The place is very small. Only one monument is there inside a boundary wall. Though this place has a historic interest, but due to lack of focus and maintenence this place is overlooked and neglected. I saw few days back, the idol of NAWAB Siraj I'd doilla's one eye was tampered and there is no light there in night time.

Very important emotional monument for independent India. Disappointed. There was no context on display. No visuals to understand the geography of battle.

Plassey monument is there but it is not maintained at all. Cow & goats are moving inside. Construction materials are stacked just by side of structure. It looks beautiful the rows of big Deodar trees on both side of road. Old is gold.

Not much developed and maintained. But must visit place. Very important part of history. The place where the great battle of Plassey was fought. Suggest the government to take se initiative to improve the place by placing some photographs or writeup in Hindi and English to attract the tourist. Some write up about battle.
