So nice place.. One of the best place in Bhagalpur silk city. Every year on the occasion of the Birth Anniversary of Maharshi Mehi, You can visit now your family and friends.. Kuppa Ghat  which signifies " A large number of Tunnels " is a place located on the banks of the holy river Ganges at Bhagalpur, Bihar, India. According to legends and mythology the great maharshi spent nearly ten years in the caves . The beautiful garden located near the bank of the ganga is known for its reference in Ramayana . Kuppaghat, Bhagalpur has grown into a sacred spiritual spot for thousands as Saint Maharishi spent many years in intense meditation on the inner light and sound at Bhagalpur .

Maharshi Mehi Ashram, is situated at Kuppaghat, Bhagalpur, Bihar, INDIA Kuppa Ghat (Hindi: कुप्पाघाट) is a place located on the banks of the holy river Ganges at Bhagalpur, Bihar, India. The word 'Kuppa' means a tunnel or cave, and 'Ghat" means place located on a river-bank. Accordingly, there is a cave at Kuppaghat which has been rendered famous and immortalized by Maharshi Mehi Paramhans, the legendary exponent of Sant Mat. Maharshi Mehi practiced surat shabd yoga or the Yoga of Inner Sound for several months here in this cave and later constructed his Ashram also; several yogis or spiritual aspirants can still be seen practicing the Yoga of Inner Light and Sound in this dark cave completely insulated from the din and bustle and brightness of the outside world. Maharshi Mehi Ashram blossomed under his dynamic leadership to become the national Headquarters of Akhil Bharatiya Santmat-Satsang. It has an aesthetically laid out garden and orchard beautifully punctuated with sculptures, paintings and quotes having spiritual significance like a cottage showing Lord Ram visiting great female devotee Shabri and killing of Jatayu, the vulture, at the hands of the demon king Ravana. According to some unconfirmed accounts, Lord Buddha is also said to have lived in this cave in one of his previous births. Maharshi Mehi Ashram, Kuppaghat, Bhagalpur has, over the years, grown into a sacred pilgrimage for millions of followers of Santmat from India and abroad. The auspicious occasions of the birth anniversary of Maharshi Mehi Paramhans and Maharshi Santsevi Paramhans, the successor of Maharshi Mehi, who also made this Ashram his main camp and residence, and Guru Purnima the Ashram draw lakhs of devotees presenting a celebratory environment impregnated with piety. Maharshi Mehi Ashram by the river side is an ideal place for general tourists as well who love to spend their evenings here. The ashram hides an old subterranean passage leading to various destinations. Kuppaghat is, thus, included among the "must see" places in Bhagalpur in all the guide atlases or maps.

One of the old Ashrams in Bhagalpur famous for the cave inside the campus. Beautiful lawns and gardens attract photographers. Peaceful environment and great sunrise - sunset sceneries and greenery on the banks of the Ganges. Usually remains less crowded with locals and monks being the only visitors during Satsang, meetings and New-year picnics. However children get bored here. Proper maintenance required.

It is located by the banks of the holy river Ganges in Bhagalpur, Bihar. Kuppaghat translates to “cave by the banks of a river” and accordingly has a cave which is believed to have been used by Maharshi Mehi Paramhans as a place for meditation. Kuppaghat has been transformed in the later years as Maharshi Mehi Ashram and has grown to be a pilgrimage for the Followers of Santmat. Every year on the occasion of the Birth Anniversary of Maharshi Mehi, Maharshi Santsevi who was Mehi’s successor and on Guru Purnima, the Ashram is visited by many devotees. The Kuppaghat Ashram has a well-maintained garden and Orchard with sculptures and paintings of scenes depicting Lord Rama’s visit to Shabari and also of Jatayu’s death in the hands of Ravana along with spiritual quotes. This place is crowded on 1st January for new year celebration. People come here to do picnic and enjoy the beauty of its park .

Asking the people of local areas, I came to know that this ashram was established by lord Mihirdas. This is a very nice place which can be visited from the bhagalpur station by auto or Toto in just 10 to 15 minute drive. This cool place has beautiful gardens with the legendary Kup guha. I loved it very much. Want to visit it again and again.

Maharshi Mehi Paramhans is a saint in the tradition of Sant Mat. He was usually known as 'Gurumaharaj'. He was the guru of 'Akhil Bhartiye Santmat Satsang'. He studied Vedas, main Upanishads, the Bhagavad Gita, the Bible, different sutras of Buddhism, the Quran, saint's literature and from this assessed that the essential teaching contained in all of these is one and the same. He gave one and easiest method to get 'Moksha'. They are 'Satsang' and 'Dhyan'(Meditation). Mehi was a direct disciple of Baba Devi Sahab of Muradabad, Uttar Pradesh. 😊🙏🏻🙏🏻
