Bhagsunath Temple, Kangra A medieval shrine, Bhagsunath is Shiva Temple situated about 3kms from Mcleodganj. The temple has been highly revered by the Hindus and the Gorkha Community. The sacred shrine is famed for its two pools that are believed to have healing properties. The best time to visit Bhagsunath Temple is during the annual fair that takes place here in the month of September. The Dal Lake, Kotwali Bazaar and Bhagsu Fall are the main attractions around this holy shrine. History:The legend has that King Bhagsu built this temple after seeking forgiveness from Snake God. It is believed that Nag Devta was raged in anger as King Bhagsu stole water from the sacred Nag Dal Lake here. Later, the king repented and built the temple in reverence to Nag Devta. According to another legend, this shrine was the patronage of a specific Gorkha community called Bhagsuwala (after the God Bhagsunag). It is also believed that these rulers built the two pools of water here with tiger-head spouts. A double-story wooden house for pilgrims was also built by them.

Very old and beautiful temple. Steps are a bit steep. Well maintained and kept clean. There is a market nearby and swimming pool in front of it. Dirt road to get to Bhagsu Nag Waterfall starts after this temple. There is seating area outside the temple by the side of swimming pool with couple of street food joints to enjoy your evening snacks and tea.

Beautiful and clean temple supported by Gorkha regiments. A peacefully and divine atmosphere, but of course, some people will come and ruin it because taking selfless with God's inside the temple is important for their likes and comments on SM. After that there is a reaul leading gro bhagsu nag waterfalls which is also a must do !!!

Visiting Bhagsu Naag Temple was a serene and peaceful experience. This small temple offers a clean environment with breathtaking views. Despite the temple needing some restoration work, the overall vibe was tranquil and serene. One unique feature is the swimming pool beside it, making it a perfect spot to unwind and connect with nature. The soothing sounds of temple bells added to the spiritual ambiance, making it an ideal place to spend your evenings.

Amazing temple at the foothills of the mountains. Pure water from the melted glaciers flow through nearby into the temple pond. Clean and chilling. Nice vibes to be around this place. There is a market nearby and a trekking trail that begins from the backside of the temple.

Located at Mcleodganj, close to the bus stand and parking area, 1km from the famous dalai lama temple, also can see a waterfall which is nearby. Entry free. With Lot of eateries and shopping point of Mcleod ganj. Dalai lama temple is one kilometer away. Nice place and with very little crowd you can have darshan almost immediately.

Nice peaceful temple. There is a holy pond next to the temple to take the dip in and a swimming pool is also attached to it, So you can spend some time in the pool. And also the Bhagsu waterfall is very close to here, you can take a few steps towards the falls to see the grand view of the waterfall.

It's a very good place to visit for pilgrims and a short trek to waterfall is very nice experience for the tourists. Scenic view is very beautiful. On the way to waterfall u may catch a cartoonist who may draw ur cartoon version within 1hr time, a banzara singer with his family who may sing local folk or filmi song for u with a local musical instrument or u may take hot Maggie or cold drink, sticks from the local shop beside road.

temple Temple is near to Macloadganj, just 10 minutes drive. Parking is big issue. Totally mismanagement. Temple is said to be very old and built by Army. People do take dip in flowing stream nearby and go further trekking to Bhagsu waterfall. Situated in the mid of street need to walk a while . Lots of street vendors

Awesome experience. Dip your hands and legs immersed. Chilled water. Did not see anybody jumping into the pool. Accumulated water at the other end had moss and could be dangerous. The temple itself has a very serene atmosphere dedicated to Lord Shiva, Snake God's, Shani Dev, Devi Maa, Lord Ganesh and Bhakt Shiromani Hanuman! From here there is an uphill trek towards Bhagsu Waterfall. Not much water now though due to reduced rains. Check before you venture. Lot of eateries nearby... You can spend 1-2 hours here. An auto from Mcleodganj rickshaw stand costs 70 bucks, Return you can easily walk down. Not more than 20 minutes.

A very beautiful temple just 10 mins from the main market of Mcleodganj. Lovely architecture and very well maintained. The temple was so clean. Many food joints are also there outside the temple. A small trek of 30 mins to Bhagsu Nath Waterfall starts from here.

Great Temple situated near the Waterfall, it’s only a 3min walk from the main Bhagsunag market. You can start your trek to the waterfall from here. There are shops on the way to buy and collect souvenir or gifts. You can get Fridge Magnets for Triund Trek and Dharamshala.

It was not worth the hype. The temple is small. Not managed well.Pandit ji was there but special puja are not done fyi. The only good part was the clean pool adjacent to it. Surprisingly many people are using it. Overall not worth a visit to this place ,but we were here for 5 days so had some spare time. The waterfall can hardly be called so and nothing great about it. After the Triund trek this was a disappointing trek. Takes 30 mins to climb up from the temple to the waterfall . There is zip lining too in case that interests.

This temple has no parking so i parked my car in the mcleodganj parking near bus stand. From there it is around 2km walk which took us around 30-40 mins. There are shops outside the temple for around 500m. You will good articles for clothes and souvenirs but you have to bargain a lot. Inside temple there is a pool and it is believed that the water of this pool haa some healing properties. Temple is amidst the mountains so it is very beautiful and good for pictures as well.

It is indeed a beautiful place. Must visit. There are also a few adventure activities like zip line, flying fox, and sky cycling which are pretty nice and it will cost around 500pp for 1 activity. But in case of a zip line you can do 2 at the cost of one 😁. I didn't go till the waterfall as that was over crowded. Tip :- if you want to bath there or just want to put your feet in water then there is a cemetery on the road of these adventure activities and from the cemetery there is a path way down to water where you can bath also. And water is super clean there 🤩

Serene amidst the Rain - A Spiritual Haven Bhagsunag Temple is a true gem nestled in the mountains. Visiting on a rainy day added to the mystical atmosphere. The temple's architecture is beautiful, with intricate details that showcase its rich history. Even with the rain, the courtyard was filled with a sense of peace. The sound of the waterfall nearby and the chanting created a truly calming experience. It's a must-visit for anyone seeking a spiritual connection or simply a tranquil escape amidst nature's beauty. The walk up to the temple is invigorating and the views are breathtaking. Despite the weather, the temple's charm shone through, leaving a lasting impression. Tips: * Wear comfortable shoes for the walk up. * An umbrella or raincoat is essential during the monsoon season. * Take your time to explore the temple complex and soak in the atmosphere. Overall: A truly special place that offers a glimpse into the rich spiritual heritage of the region. Highly recommend ❤️

The temple is in Mcleodganj near the bus stop. But it requires a short walk to reach. There is parking a short distance away. A well-known waterfall is near the temple and can be accessed by a bridge, but it is a bit arduous. Shops selling memorabilia and local warehouse are aplenty around the temple. The main arch has been offered by the Indian army commemorating their stay in Dharamshala in 1964-65

The waterfalls are a wonderful trek. The temple is okay. We loved the trek to Shiva Cafe. The market here is much better than the actual market yard. You may find stuff slightly cheaper than the Mall Road or Markety road.
