Such a Historic place. The beauty of all Shiva Temples is that they are located at such amazing places that you feel out of the world when you visit them. This place is simply different experience located within a dense forest, you may not find sun most of the times, you may feel cold even in summers. This place is an architectural masterpiece consisting of around 125 temples, gives you a glimpse of rich diversity and cultural values we have had. A must visit Shiva temple.

Among the more famous temples from the Katyuri era is the Jageshwar Dham, which is at a height of 6,135 feet, and lies around 34 km from Almora. The temple complex is situated in a densely wooded valley on the left bank of the river Jatganga, and is enclosed on all sides by tall deodars, along with a few spattering of village houses and dharamsalas. The temple cluster consists of 124 small and big stone temples and is believed to have been built between 7th -11th century CE, mostly by the Katyuri kings.

One of the oldest temple complex in India, this place is spirituality significant. The temples are constructed from stone and their architecture is beautiful with various carvings embedded on the surfaces of the temples. There is a museum nearby the temple where multiple ancient statues recovered from Jageshwar and adjoining areas are preserved and displayed.

For sure..One of the most beautiful temples in Uttrakhand... Road from almoda to jageshwar takes 2-3 hours it depends how is your driving in hills. The view between the destinations are breathtaking and beautiful. In the summer season it would be hard to get the parking spot. Try to purchase the prashad from the beginning in small shops it would be cheaper than the bigger shops in front of the temple... There are no guards or token system in shoe storage area so it would be better if you go in cheap chappals or barefoot.... 💓🙏
