Dhensa boutique resort has been my go-to destination while in Punakha for our yearly tour groups ever since 2014. We make 8 visits each year, always staying two nights at a time. Not once have we had a bad experience - on the contrary, our stays are always a great time. From the comfortable rooms and amenities, to the friendly staff, it's no surprise that we come back every year without fail. I'm more than happy to give my highest recommendation to Dhensa boutique resort.

Great place to stay in Punakha This ten years old hotel is very well kept. It is spotless. Hot very is working perfectly. - Room is spacious and all facing the valleys, and come balcony, you will pretty much have great view. We stayed in room 303 which is one of the front rows, we like it very much. - Food is delicious here. We booked breakfast and dinner package which was the right decision. The resort is uphill and there is nothing to eat around here. If you don’t - Service, attentive staffs whom will cater your needs to the very end - Others, the resort has spa service but no gym

Tranquil, peaceful location high up in the valley. From the minute you step out of the car, the air is crisp, and the hotel blends into the scenery. Met at the lobby by attentive staff. The check-in is quick and easy. Stairs will take you to your room, which is large and very comfortable. We had 2 beds, a sofa, a sitting chair, and a balcony. There's a mini bar with charges, but all water is free. Safety deposit box, hair dryer, and iron in the room. Plugs everywhere, especially close to the bed. The bathroom has a shower and a tub with great views. Laundry service is charged. Breakfast and dinner included both buffet style. Restaurant staff works nonstop to get all guests' orders. There are medium-sized tour groups or small private tours like us. A group of 2 can get lost in the crowd, but Kharga noticed us and always made sure we were taken care of. The food was ok, but I can see they try hard. It's a different menu each night, so it can be hit and miss, but I was always able to find something to eat each night. Salads, apps, fish, chicken, vegetarian, and dessert are on the buffet menu. Happy hour from 6:30pm to 7pm with traditional dances on some nights. Great boutique option in the area. No elevators.

Exceptional hospitality, We stayed with them in July’19 and the services were outstanding. The resort is situated in quiet and relaxing surroundings, they had a decent offerings of food and drinks with an outstanding and exceptionally well services. I remember, there were not many guests due to low season but the way they put everything on show was remarkable, they kept their spa operational just to serve us and even offered an exclusive local dance experience. I’m thankful to the services and wish to stay again in future, hope you continue to maintain your standards and wish you all the success.

Loved the ambience of this place. Rooms are large and comes with a nice cosy balcony overlooking the Phunaka valley. Every room is equipped with a bath tub. Must say this accomodation was the highlight of our Bhutan trip.

A delightful hotel, located near Punakha, but a very isolated location, with great views of the valley. Nice evening program, as wel.

Beautiful and unforgettable views from the hotel rooms. Very polite staff who went great lengths to make our stay so memorable. We had enquired about a herb with our tour guide which was sold in the market and upon the request of our tour guide and to our surprise the next day we were served a dish made with that herb which really showed their great hospitality. Being vegetarians they made sure we were served dessert which was eggless as the buffet contained desserts with eggs. These are many memories we will always treasure. Kudos to this hotel staff and the people of Bhutan.

Most contemporary resort in Punakha. The rooms are decent in size with all modern amenities. There are different blocks of rooms. Spa and F&B is their highlight. Slightly overpriced, but you don't mind if service delivery is nice.

What a lovely place to stay. 5 star in all respect - hospitality, comfort, service , food et all ! Wife and I had a great time. Evening folk dance is nice and soothing. Staff is amazing - ever smiling. Never got such a service though we roam around the world a lot. 100% recommended

This resort was a surprise. The service was impeccable and the rooms are a modern beauty. It was just a overnight stay. Regret I could not extend it to a couple of days more. The rooms overlook Punakha town through dense vegetation in the gentle slopes of the hill it is perched upon. It is pleasant to sit on the balcony and let the clouds pass through you when you ship your hot morning cuppa. Will return!

Very modest and tastefully done up place. Set up in a secluded place, it's quiet and peaceful. Views are great, and rooms are very comfortable. Would be great if they could have more Bhutanese cuisine, but food is nevertheless good. Quote an extensive bar with well made cocktails. Thought it might be difficult to reach the place, but people seemed to know the place comfortably.
