Not worth the cost I recently posted a review of this hotel on trip advisor to which the manager wrote a somewhat defensive response. To clarify, without sounding petty, we did not request not to be served by any staff in restaurant, it was the other way around. Secondly, he was extremely rude one time when my partner approached him to ask a question in the bar. Thirdly, on the few occasions we did meet with him, we did express our dissatisfaction and issues. We have stayed in oberoi hotels, four seasons, countless others of similar price, and this place at best is worth half the cost, nothing that special in decor, rooms certainly nothing great and service very disorganized and unprofessional. There were three or so front desk staff very pleasant and helpful, but the bad outweighed the good at this place.

I don't know how you can be in such a presitigious hotel yet feel like all the staff are long-lost friends, and be in such comfort. Everyone - from reception, to James the GM, to the F&B Manager, to the housekeeping staff... it's just absolute perfection and a credit to the Como brand. I was fortunate enough to stay in one of the villas (number 12) which I think is excellent value for money as it could comfortably sleep an entire family with two large rooms, two large bathrooms, a king sized bed and two queen sized beds. The grounds are just beautiful, peaceful and colourful. Friendly dogs (who apparently keep the wild boars from scoffing all the produce grown in the large vegetable garden). Landscaping is a dream. I simply felt like the luckiest person alive to get to experience the Uma Paro.

Welcoming attentive engaged service, beautiful food with moderately changing menu, excellent massages and beautiful villas and grounds. We loved getting to know the people who worked here and our family was made to feel at home in discovering the wonders of Bhutan.

Amazing hotel, with a great location. The hotels facilities are top but what it makes it very special is the staff, from the managers, to our guide and driver as well as the butlers

This is truly 5-star hotel with top customer experience and care. The spa treatment is “the best” in the world. The hot stone bath is unbelievable relaxing and good for your health. The GM James is fantastic person. I recommend this place to start your journey.

My wife and I had dinner at the hotel restaurant. As Earth Day was celebrated, an all vegetarian buffet was served. Excellent food and wine in a cosy atmosphere with fantastic service. Had an entertaining chat with James Low, the General Manager.
