Moorthy cafe is this not the original moorthy cafe restaurant it's anu resturant they have kept the name as moorthy cafe if you zoom my photo you can see the name of anu resturant is small letters and they are misusing the name of moorthy cafe next this moorthy restaurant does not provide sambar and chutney for dosa order and they do not have coffee in there menu also , order took so long so i am giving one star

Best parota restaurant in Chidambaram. I like the taste of chiken kadai. There is no doubt in taste and quality of the food. Only the service can be improved still better

If you had a chance to go to Chidambaram and if you are a non vegetarian, you must visit this hotel. The best restaurant in that area. Its famous for the parotta. If you go there you must try the parrota and hyderabad chicken gravy which is very 😋. The hotel is always crowded at the peak hours.

It's a small place, so nothing much about the ambience. It's clean and family seating is available. Food is excellent. Must try- nool parotta with salna and Kadai chicken and tangri kebab. I finished it with paneer soda. Will definitely go back for the food.

Very congested and small space considering the crowd. The searing arrangements are for a group of 6 people only. There are no small tables for 4 or 2 people. Taste is also very normal and not so good. Price is nominal. Service staff were fast, humble and polite. In Chidambaram, this is a comparatively better restaurant.

The pepper chicken was absolutely not edible. Not recommended. The parotta and the salna was good. Paneer butter masala is okayish.

Expected more from them on experiencing food @ chennai (Anna Nagar) but totally disappointed. Only Rice and Pulao are great here . Parota, naan, kulcha and sides for them like masala, dry fry, gravy everything was awful. The meat they used for gravies and fried rice / noodles have foul taste and muttons were soo chewy doesn't feels fresh at all. Chicken 74 and 84 don't try them here , they were just deep oil fried whole chicken with chicken 65 masala. Totally a disgusting food experience I have here on a fine evening.

It's just a nostalgia to eat here I have been here for more than 20 years My pick is always parota, salna, kal pepper chicken, mutta chutney.

I will rate 9 out of 10 for the food and quality they provide. It was too awesome and I had an experience eating the orthodox chidambaram masala types. NEVER MISS to try the dish KADAI CHICKEN over here, this shop is famous for that dish and it was flavour and spicy. Price wise, it was average to the quality and quantity they provide so every penny we spend here is worthy.

The best porata.. in my list now on.... Their gravy have their own signature taste, also they nailed it. Spicy lover you dont get spicy dise here but you definitely love their taste

Very moderate restaurant. Not upto the mark. We tried their special dishes like moorthy cafe kadai chicken and egg chutney along with Nool parota, egg Lapa and egg vechu. Kadai chicken to be frank was excellent and a must try one. Nool parota, Egg lapa and vechu I will say just above average. Egg chutney was too raw and had some raw smell, so be careful if you guys are going to try this chutney. Another dish I forgot...The dragon chicken (too hard and horrible)

Waited for 20 minutes for the waiter to come to my table. And when he came, he was showing gestures at customers. Did not feel like being there. Still waited for him to take the order. When he took the order, he said what I ordered(chicken pepper fry) was not there. Then I ordered another dish after waiting for him to return to take my order again. That was also not there and he asked me to order one dish which he suggested. He again went back and this time I had to get up and walk out of the restaurant. Do they feel we came there for free dinner?😡😡😡😡

Excellent place for dum biriyani

Stopped here for lunch randomly and loved the food here. Biryani was just average in taste, but the other items were yummy. Loved their pot kulfi at the end. Parking there was an issue as already there were so many bikes parked outside and we had to park ours elsewhere.

Nice place must try chicken 88 and chicken kadai, its better with Hyderabad chicken also....

Good morning.. in chidambaram, New Moorthy Cafe is located on the main road heading from the bus stand towards Nataraja temple. The restaurant is always busy with full of costomers throughout the day. In the ground floor tiffins will be served like idly, dosa etc. In the first floor, Chinese and tandoori items will be served.Both parcel and sitting facilities are available. Quality of the food is good and time taken is also less (sometimes waiting time will be high during peak hours).. Both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food are available.. it is a good place to visit with family . For lunch and dinner

Ac and non-Ac restaurant available. The food is fine, I have tried Biriyani. It was very nice, must try and goli soda. Blueberry 🫐 was my favourite 🤩 and the sweet beeda

Whatever Non vegetarian we asked they said they don't have them why they're running a hotel i don't know. Finally what they had only chicken biriyani we (10 members including driver) were supposed to eat that and leave as we had time constrain, if not we would have moved to another nice place.

It's the only good place in Chidambaram for non-vegetarians, but they don't even serve the dishes hot. I ordered Hyderabad chicken semi gravy but they gave it dry and only the gravy was hot chicken in it was not, but still the place is not that bad. The taste was not bad compared to other restaurants

Veg & Non Veg Restaurant with AC in the first floor and Non AC in the Ground Floor. Pricing Quality of Food all differs for both. Quantity of food is good for the pricing. Except Biryani all are good.If you are biryani lover it's not your place ( Average Taste).If you are Parrota lover then it's your Paradise. Rest room available. Parking four wheelers will be an issue.

Am not ready to give even single star Overrated Overhyped Their sign dish was only Kadai Chicken When I was in clg days (2 yrs), it was good and affordable for ₹130 Now its ₹210. When I saw other table, they order only parotta only because of massive cost of overrated side dish. Their parotta korma was like normal gravy only doesn't taste like Chicken saalna. Biriyani strictly not recommended. You can have better tomato rice from veg hotel. It is a normal. When the dish was get overrated by food vloggers, the taste would decrease and cost increase. It applies to all hotel.

One of my most favourite day .i am new to the town ..my close friend refered this place .... Mutton chukka was ultimate and chapathi and chicken kurma is very decent ....

Recently visited this hotel and tasted their food for the hype the reviewers have created. To be very very frank, the taste is usual as other decent hotels. Of course their parotta is soft enough and easy to have even 5 to 6. But their salna is full of coconut and thick, tasted as like other hotels. Don't know what these guys are hyping about. May be they would have not tasted Salnas in madurai hotels.. ! Their chicken 88 and egg chutney is a good combo and tasted nice. Overall food is good in quality and gut friendly.

I went there during lockdown period. Dine in allowed only in upstairs. For take-away, we need order and need to wait outside. Foods are good as usual. I ordered Parota and Kadai Chicken. Both are in same taste as earlier.

It was very crowded. Had to wait for 15 mins and then got to seat. We ate Parotta, Mutton Biryani, Vanjaram fish fry and Chicken 65. Parotta and Chicken 65 were very tasty. Vanjaram fish fry had lot of masala. Mutton piece was big in Biryani and was average.

don't go for buying parcel ...u just wait like dog in front of food especially first floor they dont have any basic sense just put chair in front of customers who eat variety of food ...for ur waiting chair its create uneasy feel for both of us stupid restaurant ...taste was good and nice, price is little high .......once just go in first floor u will experience what I told

Parotta and kadai chicken..so famous moorthy cafe. Both chicken and mutton Biryani was in average taste. Chicken 88 was so good. They gave a complimentary gravy ( I won't recommend). Kadai chicken was damn tasty. Many chettinad gravies also available (I suggest to try chettinad chicken too) Tandoori tasted good. Pepper chicken was too good in taste. Good for kids and family to dine in. For vegetarians ground floor and for non vegetarians first floor. Usually crowded but can get a table within 10minutes in weekends.
