My alma mater for all my college days from 1963-1968.A good place for learning, stay, living, food ,discipline, etc( at that time) Present conditions not known to me. I had a pleasant time. Now too the building etc are very well maintained and building etc exterior are fresh as it was during those days. A few more buildings have come -up in vacant space available. A good experience to visit this place after a gap of 50 years.

The university was founded in 1929 by the entrepreneur Annamalai Chettiyar in the aftermath of the Montagu-Chelmsford Reforms. In the early 1920s, to serve the downtrodden and to promote Tamil literature, Rajah Sir S. R. M. Annamalai Chettiar founded Sri Minakshi College, Sri Minakshi Tamil College and Sri Minakshi Sanskrit College in a rural setup at Chidambaram. In 1928, Rajah Sir S. R. M. Annamalai Chettiar agreed with the local government to hand over the above said institution for establishing a university. Thus, on 1 January 1929 Annamalai University was established as per Annamalai University Act 1928 (Tamil Nadu Act 1 of 1929).[4] The most significant development is the enactment of the Annamalai University Act, 2013 (Tamil Nadu Act 20 of 2013), which has come into force from September 25, 2013, after obtaining the assent of His Excellency, the President of India

Very bad distance education. Have completed course in 2020 but didn't get original degree certificate and also no response from the authority. Wasted time, effort also money.

I studied BLIS and MLIS here. Good university. PCP Classess, specially for practicals were useful. PCP class arrangements in Coimbatore city and conducting exams and arrangements in exam centres were wonderful. Coimbatore study centre response and support were nice. In study materials is 70% ok. After exam getting degree i applied 2times... otherwise nice experiences. I hope i will join once again in this university

I am graduated from this famous annamalai university. Entered during June 1972 and came out as an Agriculture Graduate🎓🎓🎉 during June 2022. We classmates gathered in the university campus and celebrate🎉🎊🎁 d the FIFTIETH year of entering the university. Present Vice Chancellor accepted our invitation and addressed for more than one hour. He 👦also had good interaction with us. We called our professors who are alive at chidambaram and honoured them.

Recently Went to Annamalai University, COE office to get consolidated marksheet for the UG degree completed as distant education. Very Worst Experience due to irresponsible staff members. we travelled for more than 10 hrs to get the certificates. The office opened at 9.45 AM . The administrative staffs come to office after 10.00 only. they are not in the position to answer single question. we can came to know the procedure to get the marksheet by co-waiters who came for here like us. Many of the staffs ideally sit in their place without any work and answer. cleanness is too bad inside the office. We cannot find rest room anywhere else. No staff guided us to any procedure even where is rest room. 1st time i experienced how the govt office will be.
