Its the place where the Saivaite Saint, Thiru gyanasambandhar got cymbals (Thaalam) from Lord Shiva. It's believed that The child Saint came here from Seerkazhi, and was singing hymns in praise of Lord Shiva, by clapping his hands, due to which his hands became red. Unable to bear this, The Lord gave him Cymbals made of Gold with the holy five letters engraved on it (Namasivaaya), hence the Lord here is called Thaalapureeswarar (The Lord who gave Thaalam). But as we know, Gold is not sonorous. That is it doesn't produce loud sound as bronze/brass. So, Gyanasambandhar prayed to the Goddess here, and with her blessings, the Gold Symbals were sonorous. Hence, the Goddess is referred to as 'Osai Kodutha Nayaki' (The Goddess who Gave Sound). People who are mute, with staggering speech come here, pray the God and return back to their homes. It is believed that within 48 days, speech will be restored to them. There's a register maintained here, which has the names of over 800 people who got speech by praying this lord. A very neatly maintained Temple, with not much footfall. People who visit Seerkazhi, should definitely come here as it is just 4 kms away from Sattainathar Temple. Trivia : DMDK Leader Vijayakanth visited and prayed this Lord for restoration of his Voice

Moolavar : Thalapureeswarar Amman : Osai Nayaki Ambaal This temple is located in the village "Thirukolakka" which is 57 km from kumbakonam. It took 1 and half hour to reach. This temple is for the those who unable to speak and facing stammering problems. Opposite to temple there exists Ananda Theertha tank. On the right while entering temple vahana mandapam is there. "Theerthavari" function was celebrated on all karthikai Sundays (Nov-Dec).we went on one such day. Main God of this temple is Thalapureeswarar and Goddess Osai Nayagi Ambal who is in a separate shrine. Lords Vinayaka, somaskanda, Subramania, Mother Lakshmi, Sani Bhagwan, Lord Bhairava are in the prakaram.

No direct bus transport from sirkazhi to the temple. So going by any self owned transport is very good to reach. Can go by walk, but its not advisible to go in the night time by walk as its go little interior to the viallage.

Mother Osai Nayagi ( Godess of Sound ). Must for children who are slow to pick up speech and people interested to make career in Music, Singing or Oration. Thirugnanasambandar, at age of 3 was making sound by clapping both hands and composing divine melodies on Shiva (Lord Sapthapureeswarar ) in this Temple. Pleased Shiva gave to Thiru Gnanasambandar a golden kazhi ( musical instrument ). But gold can't make sound when hit each kazhi with other. This is out of love.... Father gave valuable thing to child though it could not serve as is. This is pure love. Mother OsaiNayagi then gave sound to the golden Kazhi. Such is the Love of the gods here. Pray with true love 🙏
