At the second training (on alternative methods) I significantly improved the brewing technique in drip and Chemex, thanks to which I can enjoy better taste of coffee every day :) I will add two more interesting facts: 1. The lecturer is very flexible and if you have specific issues on which you want to focus, there is no problem with that. For example, I brought my portable espresso machine (Flair Espresso) and we were able to make the best espresso on it. 2. Training "Master Brewer", because of the pandemic, took place online and I absolutely did not feel that it was of lower quality. It was very efficiently carried out, and the host was even able to assess whether the coffee came out well (and taste) based on its color! Prowadzący jest bardzo elastyczny i jeśli macie konkretne zagadnienia, na których chcecie się skupić, to nie ma z tym żadnego problemu. Ja np. przyniosłem swój przenośny ekspres (Flair Espresso) i ogarnialiśmy jak najlepiej zrobić na nim espresso. 2. Szkolenie "Master Brewer", z racji pandemii, odbyło się online i absolutnie nie czułem, by było gorszej jakości. Zostało bardzo sprawnie przeprowadzone, a prowadzący był nawet w stanie ocenić czy kawa dobrze wyszła (oraz smak) na podstawie jej koloru! Ogólnie to gorąco polecam! :)

I came with virtually zero knowledge (just a passion for good coffee :) ), and I left with a solid dose of knowledge supported by my first attempts at practice. The workshops are interesting and varied, from pure theory, through experiments in identifying fragrance notes, to "simply" brewing coffee. Michał explains effectively and patiently, answers all questions based on his extensive knowledge, and also speaks beautiful Polish, which makes him a pleasure to listen to :D I finished with a lot of enthusiasm for the next steps. My partner gifted a workshop at JAVA coffee for my birthday. I missed the first meeting date but the trainer Lukasz was kind enough to invite me another day. I was expecting this to be a short basic training but I was there almost 5 hours and it was a fantastic eye-opening experience. I have learned a lot about coffee as a plant - how and where it is grown - how to differentiate by smell and taste. First part was theoretical but I never really felt bored as Lukasz is a great story teller and made the whole conversation laid back and fun. I have learned so many things about coffee during the workshops. Lukasz is a very passionate trainer and loves his job and takes it very seriously. I also like the fact that he really puts ethics in a first place. He informed me about the quality of coffee beans and also how they make sure coffee farmers get fairly paid. I never "liked" espresso as I thought it was very bitter but I found out I just didn't drink it the right way! I asked him so many questions and he gave me so many tips about making coffee at home. I highly recommend his trainings and I hope to go back again for further trainings in the near future. Thank you Lukasz!
