Must visit place in Bikaner. You will get a glimpse of history of Bikaner. Artifacts, statues of ancient times. War equipments, music instruments, pots, art, etc. used in ancient times. Excavated statues you can see here. And the ticket is just 20 rs as in 2022. So a nominal ticket. Staff is also helpful.

Ganga singh museum is near by Junagarh Fort. You can easily take auto from the fort. They will charge you around Rs. 30 - 40. Not more than that. You will find many students studying inside the campus. This museum is on 2 floors. On ground floor, you will get to know more about Maharaja Ganga Singh including various types of swords, pistols etc. On first floor, you will get to know more about different dynasties including their coins and boundaries.

A place not be missed when in Bikaner, I was so surprised by its neatness and well lighted displays. Many of the big museums of Indian cities were put to shame by this small museum run by Rajasthan government. Opens up only at 12 P.M and entry fee is ₹20/person/Indian. No charges for photography on mobiles. They’ve got artefacts from the Gupta Age right down to the time of the last Maharajahs of Bikaner.

Ganga Government Museum is a unique museum where history is displayed since Sindhu Valley civilization to modern times with special emphasis on Bikaner region. This building was built during British Raj period by public donation and Princely state of Bikaner in memory of great Maharaja Ganga Singh. Paintings of Bikaneri style are main attraction of this museum along with the Lalgarh Palace modal, armaments, trophies, ancient sculptures, etc. Museum is worth to visit.

Maharaja Ganga state Museum at Bikaner, is a wonderful collection and beautiful essence of Rajputana culture. Museum is fantastically desinged which describes the history of our Raja's and their kingdom. The huge potrays and the statues are so amazing which create the scenerio of that time. It icludes antique and royal items which are in use by the soldiers, musicians, painters, workers etc. I thoroughly enjoyed the visit at very low cost about 10₹ only because i am an indian student. For othere visitors it costs 20₹.

The museum is a treasure house of fine collections of historical objects, sculptures, and other wonderful artwork. There are sections in the museum in a way that all the artifacts follow a hierarchy and historical importance. There is the Silk Robe of Shehjada Salim which is quite fabulous to see. There are also some other unique collection of miniatures from across the state. Old photographs, hunting weapons, trophies, cameras of that time, movie projectors, and terracotta ware of the Gupta rule, traditional musical instruments, glassware, royal paintings, gold paintings by local artists and miniature models of the Royal Bikaner train, and Gajner Palace as well as Lalgarh Palace are also a part of the amazing collection at Ganga Government Museum. Visitors can also see a number of black and white photographs of India during the British Raj, war weapons of Rajasthan, and priceless sculptures from Harappa age.

Very interesting place to visit. It is recently renovated. The museum has been decided in two floors. Ground floor showcases some clothes, arms, utensils and artworks from Bikaner state. At First floor you will see coins gallery which is very very interesting, and sculptures gallery which contains earthen and stone sculptures from Gupta periods and onwards. Letters from Mughal emperors show the great relationship of Bikaner state with Mughals. A must see place even if you are not very interested in history.

At a distance of 1.5 km from Junagarh Fort and 3 km from Bikaner Junction Railway Station, the Ganga Singh Museum is one of the most significant museums situated in Bikaner. This is the best museum in the state of Rajasthan and also one of the must visit places of sightseeing in Bikaner. Established in 1937 AD by Maharaja Ganga Singh, the Ganga Singh Museum showcases an extensive array of articles, hunting trophies and archaeological specimens. These specimens are belonged to the Harappan age and the early part of the Gupta period. According to the archaeologists, these articles throw light on a number of dark areas of the history of India. The first level of the museum is adorned with portraits of the Maharajas of Bikaner and several English dignitaries. The second level of the museum houses artifacts and crafts of wood, metal and glass. Highlights of the museum are the gilded golf leaf paintings on camel hides of usta craftsmen and Silk Robe of Shahzada Saleem. The museum is revered for being a storehouse of all miniature collection of Rajasthani paintings from schools of Bundi, Mewar, Jaipur, Bikaner and Jodhpur. Another significant display of the museum is the weapons used by the Rajputs. The museum also has large array of Terracotta artwork and artifacts from sites of Indus Valley Civilization and Kalibangan, ancient Theris of Badopal, Rangmahal, Hanumangarh and Suratgarh in Bikaner excavated by Dr. L.P. Tessitori. Replica of Gajner Palace, a teak table, an Ikka (horse carriage) and chariot are other masterpieces displayed in the museum with extraordinary lacquer work by craftsmen of Bikaner. Second best museum in town after Junagargh but lacking artificers and their dating and information had lots of errors and misleading information. Look out for the bronze vessel dated both 20th century and 17th century in the same sentence. 🤷‍♂️
