While there is not much left of the fort, it is a large complex which has well paved walk way to spend a nice time with friends or family. There are remains of the royal hamam ( bath place), 4 gates to the fort, few dilapidated buildings and three temples of which two are still active. The entry is free. The place has potential to be developed into more attractive tourist spot.

Must visit for history enthusiasts visiting Mahamaya Temple. It has multiple fort complexes/ruins, the place is very well maintained and is highly picturesque. Also there's tons of greenery.

A good place to visit but the fort is already in a dilapidated condition. You will find a larger space to play outdoor games.

This fort is like the fort built by the kings of old times, I do not have complete information about this place but the experience related to this place has been very good, I had the privilege of going here, I also took a tour, I would like to tell everyone to go here, it is good to spend time here, this Mahamaya temple is at a very short distance from Ratanpur, definitely visit it when you go to Ratanpur.

Love this ancient and early medieval place. Archaeological survey of India doing a great work to restore its old vibes. Visited there for my research work.

If you are going for Pre-wedding photoshoot here, then you need permission from archeological department otherwise you can't shoot with digital camera. But you can take videos/photos with your mobile and for that no permission is required.

Ratanpur Fort is a historic landmark in Chhattisgarh State and it is a must-visit destination for history buffs and architecture enthusiasts alike. The fort is a unique blend of Rajput and Mughal architecture, and it stands tall as a testament to the rich cultural heritage of India. The fort is located in the small town of Ratanpur, about 25 kilometers from Bilaspur. It was built in the 14th century by the Kalchuri dynasty, whose rule extended over the central regions of India. The fort is surrounded by a moat on three sides, and the imposing entrance gate leads to a large courtyard. The main attractions of the fort are the beautiful temples dedicated to Lord Shiva and other deities. The fort has undergone several renovations over the years, and it has been declared a protected monument by the Archaeological Survey of India. The fort is now open to visitors, and guided tours are available for those who want to learn more about its history and significance. In conclusion, Ratanpur Fort is an architectural marvel that is steeped in history. It is a must-visit destination for those who want to explore the rich cultural heritage of Chhattisgarh State and India as a whole.

A very important site from chhattisgarh state's point of view but it has not been well preserved. Yet you'll find remains of the forts walls are covered in filth by public engraving their names and all .

Kalchuri ruler Ratnadev I established Ratanpur city in 1050 AD and made it his capital. Ratanpur, the ancient capital of Chhattisgarh, has a glorious history, the remains of which are located in Ratanpur, here major places like Gaj Fort, Rajmahal, pond next to the fort are worth visiting.
