The Pizza is insanely good. The location could be better but the design of the restaurant is amazing. But... I actually miss the Italian espresso. As a kid I would prefer the lamp over the table to be a bit lower. I will go back soon... with my sunglasses on 😋

The only one and real Italian pizza 🍕in Bilbao. Good service and top quality products only. Even in Italy you can rarely find pizza napoletana as good as @Demaio You have to reserve a table in advance and it’s possible to do via whatsapp Demaio, you are the best, guys!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Maybe the best real pizza place i tried till today, the dough is just perfectly crunchy and tasty, the ingredients selection doesn't taste cheap at all, and the restaurant ambiance is super cozy! The best pizza around hands down.🍕

This place deserves to call themselves gourmet. We visited them on a Sunday in July, and the place was packed from when they opened at 8:30 PM… People were waiting in the street after a few minutes. Still, they greeted me and coughed up a table for four - immediately or after 30 minutes - so we took the latter. Half an hour later, the table was indeed ready and we were seated. Everyone that I met spoke English, and gave us time and help to make our choices. They explained the differences between napoletana (round, typical thin pizza with crusty edge) and romana (square double baked pizza with a crusty bottom). The latter was out of this world! They also served .33 liter cokes and Italian wine by the glass, from bottles on rotation, for about €3 a piece. We had three pizzas, two cokes, a sparkling water and four glasses of wine for a mere €50, including great service from at least three friendly folks (meeting, greeting, seating, eating)… Next time you want to be taken to a happy place - go to Demaio! It’s in the hip part of Bilbao called San Francisco, adjacent to the old town market hall, just across the walking bridge on the West bank of the river and a stone throw up a hill. The guests were mostly young adult couples.

I thought this place would be amazing based on the reviews but it was honestly just okay. The focus is on pizza and they have a small choice of beer and wines. It is hard to get a table and they are generally very busy but the service is actually very good. The pizza crust is thin and the sauce is good, but nothing special. I would recommend the buffalo mozzarella pizza, second one on the menu.

We had dinner here on our last night in Bilbao. It was hard to get a reservation, as it seems to be a really popular spot! It was very busy and had a good atmosphere. We managed to get a table and the staff were very friendly. The food is superb. The Neopolitian style pizzas were very tasty and great value. We both really enjoyed the restaurant and would recommend!

Excellent pizza with a lot of flavour and right Neapolitan texture. We did not have a reservation but they accommodated us in 30 minutes in early afternoon. It was rightfully placed in Top100 pizzas in Europe.

We went there with 20 people (international students) and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful and even though we stayed till the very end they were so nice. Besides that the pizza is the best in town and probably better than 95% of the pizza places in the world. I have been there around 4 times now and every time it is super busy and the staff has so much to do and still they manage to give you a smile and do their job amazingly. Besos!

Very very nice. Amazing atmosphere, all 3 pizzas were delicious and the staff really outstanding. Many places lower down the quality both in food prep and service but this place was really great even though it’s been packed up since 20:30h non stop and still everything was a 10. Congrats for the good job, we’ll surely come back again.

This restaurant is fantastic. If you speak a little Italian you get a table, even if the restaurant is packed. The only negative: no coffee (caffè, espresso). But otherwise worldclass pizza and also very cheap. We paid 60 euros for 2 pizzas, 2 waters, 1 bottle of red wine, 1 tiramisu and 2 limoncellos. We will be back soon!🙏

For us it was a bit out of the way, I have a slight handicap walking uphill, but the food-experience we had in this pizza restaurant was absolutely worth the climb up the hill. Definitely recommendable and we will visit again.

Amazing italian pizza. I won't give the 5 stars because we had to wait more than 1 hour to get a pizza

Unfortunately, we didn't reserve a table in advance. So we could only order a pizza romana, but still it was delicious! When we entered the place, the smell was sooo good! I would recommend this place, but don't forget to reserve a table!

Came here with a friend who lives in Bilbao (they always know the best places). I'm not a big pizza fan but it this was lovely. The restaurant is very cool and owned by two Italian brothers. Really worth a visit.

Amazing experience ! As an absolute pizza, I have tried thousands of pizzas all over the world, I can definitely say Demaio deserve all the praise. Amazing service, pizza just delightful, aperol spritz for 3,5€ what could you want more ? Also the staff is great and welcoming. It was so good that we’re returning one more time before leaving !

👍👍 We stumbled upon this place, which is odd, because my husband is such a foodie and usually knows about every hot place. After getting off the funicular, we wandered into we saw this beautiful spot. Inside, we started researching it on our phone and saw the rave reviews--including one from Anthony...
