Disappointment. I was excited to learn about Basque history, especially 20th century history. I left empty. Cultural exhibits are the only window presented to understand Basque Country. I’d have really loved to have known what I was looking at, but with no English anywhere, using a translation tool every time makes me dizzy. No numbers on exhibits or captions so I’m guessing even with paper translation this would be onerous to follow. My takeaway is they're a proud people, proud of their way of life. I just wish they made that story more accessible to foreigners so we could celebrate along with them.

This is a well curated museum with artefacts from the local area beginning in early prehistory around 100,000 years ago, showing stone tools. The display works through subsequent periods of prehistory before looking at the Roman occupation and then the medieval period. Of note is the immersion experience of cave paintings from the paleolithic period. We'll worth a visit.

The ethnographic museum costs 3 euro to enter and is split over 4 different floors. Some of the exhibits will not be that interesting to all and will include a large amount of reading of sheets, but there was an exhibition of large statues of the Basque region which is quite impressive and worth viewing just for this. Is this the most reasonably priced museum in Bilbao?

A most authentic, informative, spectacular and child friendly museum in a historic building with lot of original objects. Most information given in English, but the museum is absolutely not text heavy. It gives a substantial overview of history and everyday life of this remote but great corner of Spain i. e. Country Basque. A good mixture of history, archeology, anthropology, fishery, traditional food, rural life etc. The museum has 3 floors and a ground floor to visit. Very easily accessible for wheel chair users. Quiet atmosphere, professional and attentive staff. Restrooms are available for visitors.

FREE Entry on Thursdays. Very nice Basque museum. It would be lots better if there were other languages on the detail plaques on the exhibits. Instead there are some sporadic leaflets that are dotted around. The time we spent here was cut short because of that, otherwise we would have stayed a lot longer. There is a fantastic model of Bizkaia so you can see the entire region on a large scale, it's just a shame that for a non-basque-spanish speaker there were no accessible information by the exhibits. Glad it was free entry.

Fantastic way to learn more about Basque history and culture! Spread out across 4 floors, the exhibits included everything from centuries old stone coat of arms of the city, through scaled down smith workshop to fine china and historical dress. For those who appreciate miniature models, this museum has a lot to offer. Apart from models of tradional villages and important buildings, you can also walk around a very impressive model of all of Biscay.

A small museum which will help you understand the Vasco history starting with the prehistoric times, Roman, Medieval and the more recent times. Plan to spend at least a full hour or more to go through the three exhibition floors

Interesting museum with some very good exhibits, strange layout which can get confusing as you look for the translated information sheets, which seem to be in random locations. Highlight is the relief model of the Region. Would recommend visiting for 1.5 hours.

(Translated by Google) Euskal Museoa Bilbao (Bizkaia). ————— Museum of Basque history and ethnography from the 17th century to the present day with 3 floors in which, as soon as we enter, we find a spectacular cloister in which is the Exhibition of giants and big heads of Bilbao. Likewise, there was the Gorreri Bisuala exhibition by Zaloa Ipiña. ————— On the first floor, we have also found the exhibition Anthology by Manuel de Gotor: 30 years of men's swimwear that Justo ends today and is worth bringing it back at some point. ————— The prices are very affordable given that the general price is € 3, but boys and girls under 12 years of age, friends of the museum, people with disabilities, teachers, students, journalists, do-txartela, pensioners and the unemployed enter for free. I’m sure the museum is awesome however there is currently only partial access, as they are doing “works” on the entire museum. For the next two years, at least. Oh well, will return in 2 years I guess!

Nice museum, they have interesting things. However, nothing is written in English so it’s slightly tricky for tourists who don’t speak Spanish!

(Translated by Google) Museum of Basque History and Ethnography from the end of the 17th to the present day, inaugurated at the beginning of the 20th century in a rather austere building that belonged to the Jesuits, was developed around a cloister, and is museistically speaking ornate and without a language and a understandable journey. It has interesting pieces and some related to traditional works. It needs a deep restoration to value the good pieces that it has, from the anthropomorphic figure in the middle of the cloister, a Zuloaga, furniture, porcelains, etc. It is messy and we could say that it is complementary to the newly opened Archeology located in the same area of the old town.

(Translated by Google) Nice and helpful staff. Fantastic idea using technology and 3D effects (especially description and visiting the cave). Interesting exhibition and simulations as well as thematic division of the exhibition, although the collections are not large. The exhibits are described in Spanish, but visitors receive an album with a description in English, which is given back after the tour (Original) Miła i pomocna obsługa.

Kind staffs that speak English and help steer you to the exhibit English writings (a page on the wall here or there) very interesting exhibit to help understand the Basque people as Shepard Fishermen Whalers... the ceramic sections has some nice designs, also like the cartography section with the huge 3d Basque mountain ranges. Not much English next to the exhibit pieces themselves so that’s a little difficult. Also enjoyed the weaving section with all the fun little machines to separate the wool and the Laine.
