“Parking is available but reservation is not possible”. Upon arrival, parking is complete and am asked if I have a reservation. Another guest clarifies that he was allowed to do a reservation. Hotel person sent me around the block to find another parking, unclear destination. 10 phone calls were necessary for them to pick up the phone. Haven’t even checked in. As it became apparent in the following day, this car parking thing is a recurring problem as there was similar chaos and cars queuing, and puzzled guests talking about “reservations”. I have checked in. The room is a twin, not a double. We have a baby child that sleeps with us, which they knew about because they ask for the infant’s age. They also know that their own hotel policy states no baby cribs/cots. I suppose the baby sleeps in the hole in between. There is also no water kettle. Truly, having a kettle was one of our criteria as not every hotel has it and… see baby above and figure out why a kettle is relevant. Oh and the room wasn’t ready even though it was almost. Although the booking clearly states superior double room, the hotel staff argues that is but a preference, presumably for the hotel not the guest. Anyway, there is no true argument about twin when it is not mentioned in the booking. So… although they were adamantly defending that it was a twin room, someone, somewhere, later saw the light, rang the phone and offered us what we booked. Make no mistake, their first instinct was to not offer us what we booked. This is no staff decision, rather a business/management practice. Still on the first room, a hour after being in the room, the cleaning staff comes burgeoning in with a spray in their hand, apologizes, and retreats. What did they forget to clean is the question. Some positives: The staff is otherwise nice. Breakfast food is great and the rooms are comfortable.

I struggle to see how the hotel is classified as a 4 star hotel given that it feels like a generic chain and there is nothing original about it. That said, the hotel is clean, comfortable and quiet.

Here for one night en route back to U.K. via the ferry. The room and floor is scrupulously clean, including the toilet, it feels brand new! Lobby is nicely designed and very modern. Staff on reception very efficient and speak good English. We were very impressed with the breakfast buffet, it had a wide selection of tasty food, we have just stayed at 5 different Paradors and did not get anything like this for breakfast.

Very nice hotel in the middle of everything in Bilbao. The room are of good size and very clean. The mattress is excellent. The pillows as well. Good service . The receptionist were all very polite . Value for money . I definitely recommend it for a short stay in Bilbao. The only handicap is that we can hear voices from next room.

This hotel has perfect location, good breakfast and overall not bad to stay but two things that I didn't like. First. Air-conditioning. I realized that mine wasn't working. I never suffer from heat but room temperature was so high that I was sweating right after taking shower. I called to reception and guess what they told me? Because it is close to the winter, maintenance turned all cool mode off and if it is hot in the room i can open my window. Can you imagine that? So, my American friends if you are sensitive for heat ask if AC activated before check in. Second. Some rooms designed the way you have sink and shower in the same room. I feel like my bedroom is actually in the bathroom. not very comfortable pattern for me. Adding one star only because of good location

Nice clean modern hotel. Friendly staff, plenty of food for breakfast. Located half way between the old town and Guggenheim Museum. Free tickets to the museum were offered but unfortunately I’d already bought them on line. Only if I knew!!!! I would have preferred an enclosed bathroom/toilet.

Only stayed for one night, but the room was great! Good customer service as well. Strong recommendation.

The location is perfect, the hotel is next to the river bank, the old town is only 5-7 min. on foot, and the main attractions are also in a 15-20min. walking distance. The standard room is convenient, a bit small / not well lit, but the bed is comfy and overall it serves its purpose. The breakfast is tasty, it offers a great variety of salty and sweet bites, and has also vegetarian/vegan options as well. The ingredients are fresh and of high quality.

The room I stayed was small and looked okay. Nothing to complain other than the room size. Normal room with master bed/twin bed. Reception guy did tell me for 4 euros more I can get a room upgrade but since this is a business trip, I would need an approval from my company, so I didn't opt for the same. Breakfast was good - Fruits, Egg varieties, Snacks, Juices. Non Veg dishes were also there but I'm eggetarian so can't comment the taste. However my colleague who stayed with me was not satisfied with Non veg dishes taste. Weirdly the pineapple they kept everyday was sour and not at all good! I love Pineapples and they make me hate it 😑 Nothing to complain on the Services. Room cleaning everyday is there. Location is a big plus, walkable to Guggenheim museum within 1km and Other restaurant within 1.5km radius which is excellent. But the view from Window (from the room) was not good. Overall, not bad.

Very nice hotel in the center of Bilbao. Within walking distance from many restaurants and decent size rooms. The only issue I had in the room was related to the shower, it was too small and did not drain well. Restaurant staff was decent- but one of them refused me access for no reason. The restaurant was still open but I guess the server (female) did not feel like accepting customers. The issue was resolved once another employee let me in. I would recommend the place but get you dinner elsewhere.

My second time here but either they have changed for the worse or my memory misled me. The location is great , very close to the center by the side of the river and the people working reception were efficient even though the ones I interacted with weren’t overly friendly. The hotel itself is quite big without a lot of character. While I was there there was some sort of convention going on and it was very busy. The room, while not small is in dire need of maintenance, the shower is a tiny plastic cubicle with leaky shower heads and water that are either scolding hot or cold. The view from my superior room was of a next door building. The wifi was terrible and was a touch and go most of the time. There is a small gym. Didn’t try the breakfast. While this is not a bad hotel, for the price you pay I believe you can get something with a little more character and charm in the middle of Bilbao.

Great location. Centre of the city. Brilliant staff. Hotel restaurant really good food. The Superior room would appear to be the basic and is small.

The location was perfect, the rooms were clean but small, breakfast was average and the reception was kind but not the fastest I have met...

Five star staff in terms of friendliness, efficiency and standard of attention to detail. Everyone we met, from cleaning to people serving dinner are remarkably friendly and chatty (yet unobtrusive). BTW staff speak English - I've little/no Spanish/Basque! The food is great - I'm vegetarian and accommodations were made for lunch/dinner - breakfast is buffet style with something for everyone. The location is superb and within walking distance of the city centre and as the hotel is on the river, it's a beautiful setting for walks. There is car parking but it must be booked early as the car park fills. I think this is an ideally located tourist/city trip hotel in Bilbao.

Perfect hotel for a holiday in Bilbao. It is located at the river and at walking distance from the old city and the Guggenheim. Rooms are like new and very clean and quiet. No bath but a powerful shower. The breakfast menu/bar is very good. Book the room with breakfast. Service has been perfect.

Really good location and excellent facilities. The family suite is perfect for travelling with children. You have two big, fully separate spaces that is very convenient. Beds and very comfortable. Fresh, outstanding local and international products for breakfast. A huge variety of options. Really good quality. If you're traveling with bikes, there is a safe room to leave them. The staff was very professional and friendly. We'll come back for sure!

Room relatively small but good bathroom. Aircon working poorly and the floor was sticky, we had to call twice for them to come and clean. Parking expensive €27,real good breakfast for €14.Nice front desk staff but overall, €180 just for the room is not worth it.

Amazing hotel with incredible staff. Excellent location, incredibly clean rooms and very good food. There was one woman at reception that could have been little more willing to help with a couple of issues, but everyone else was amazing! Thank you very much.

Very rude and not professional staff. I book this hotel month in advance and contact front desk about parking. One of the front desk managers told me we have parking available for guests, reservations not possible but you will have parking place as you arrive. In fact hotel have more that 350 rooms and only 50 parking space, when we arrived parking was full and hotel send us to other parking garage, also this parking was full. We parked car on other river bank and walk to hotel 20 minutes by walk under high water rain. Our room was not prepared, we requested king size bed but got 2 twins, that not fit to us as we couple. Front desk change room for us, but new room was small and not prepared for My Barceló member, we do not get welcome drink. Towels at hotel very date and need to be replaced. Room is small and air conditioner not work properly. We are ready disappointed with our stay. On check out, lady on front desk printed invoice for us, but this take more that 7 minutes. Very slow and not professional. I not recommend this hotel and now I canceled my future booking with Barceló.

If you have booked a classic room, and when you check in they offer you a suite, and you agree to pay more, keep in mind that you will continue to be treated as a guest of a regular room. Require a double bed and don't accept the double "coupled together" You can fall to the floor, as the beds are just together, but loose. The towels and bathrobes in the suite are rough and old. How much does it cost to prepare 4 cakes every morning for a hotel breakfast buffet? Well, they serve the same cake again and again, in the end there are pieces of different cakes which should no longer be offered to anyone. The same is repeated with other food such as potato pies, empanadas, etc. The cutlery to serve the food must be changed every two hours, depending on the movement of people in the room. The quality of washing dishes, glasses and cutlery is very poor. Clean a table requires technique, there are schools for that. A single cleaning cloth can not be used on all tables, chairs and compartments in the buffet. The bar is poor, and there were people watching football, without distancing.

Great location and amazing bed!! Sadly our air-conditioning stopped working but luckily we could open the windows and still slept well. Would have appreciated a gesture for the inconvenience but otherwise all good

Stayed Oct 2019. Fantastic place just across and short walk from the Guggenheim Bilbao. Interesting room setup (check my pics) which works for me! Lovely reception staff at the BBN ready to chat with you on Bilbao food! 👍 Also stay here during your birthday and they’ll send something special to your room when you get back! 🎉😚

Rude staff on phone while booking and also at reception desk, I really felt not welcomed. You have to pay in advance your stay, garage is very expensive. Double room is very little with old and cheap look furnitures. I would not recommend this hotel, you can find much better hotel for same or even cheaper price.

Nice and clean hotel with some great facilities. We really liked the staff who were helpful and loaned us umbrella etc. The bed was huge and good range of pillows. Only downsides were room layout had bathroom as part of the main room, so sink and shower in bedroom. Also air conditioning only heated.

Nice hotel with helpful and friendly staff, conveniently located related to the plans we had in Bilbao. Short walking distance to the Guggenheim museum and the cable car to the hill top. The breakfast was delicious with a good assortment of food. The room was very nice with a good size and a comfortable bed. The only minus was the missing possibility to lower the room temperature. The AC was set to heating only. The room temperature was too high for me to sleep comfortably. Above our room was what sounded like the main AC compressor installed. Irritating noise during the nighttime.

I've rarely stayed at proper hotels like this and initial impressions were very good. However, getting a good night's sleep seems impossible due to poor sound proofing. The lesser and cheaper accommodation I stayed in on the way here (Bordeaux & San Sebastian) were great but this is not. You can hear every door click and it also sounds like the entire hotel's plumbing gets fed into a speaker somewhere in my room. Others in our group have heard the same. The hotel made no fuss of my first ever room change and I slept well.

Well situated hotel right next to the river. The service was ok, but room service took forever to clean our room. We came back to the hotel around 3 for a nap, and they were still cleaning. It was a little disappointing as we were tired and in need of a nap. The size of the room was ok and the beds were so comfortable. 1 thing l didn't like about our room was the bed lights. You can not switch one light and leave the other one on. If you switch of one that automatically means you're switching the both of them off. We were lucky to reserve the parking but it was a bit pricey. Apart from that our experience here was fine. The photo with a building were views from our room.

Stunning hotel, comfortable rooms, great atmosphere & service. Close to all the amenities & metro system. The only hassle I had was the safe wouldn't open for me....as it turned out one of the numbers were faulty but maintaince fixed that. Still giving 5* review

Good things: good location, comfy bed. Bad things: expensive, gave us wrong room when we first got here, no way to phone reception so you have to go downstairs for any complaint/question, you hear everything from your upstairs neighbour- including the alarm that they may set off and then leave the room with it on &@£!

Amazing location, very central to all attractions most within a ten minute walk. The room was very clean and comfortable, with a great bed. The staff are very friendly.

The location of the hotel is great, very close to the museum and cable car station, walking distance. The room is not soundproof enough to hear outside.

We booked extra double large bed and they wanted to give us two single beds with the excuse that they are not available. They even let us wait for 5 hours for the room for no reason. At the end they provided us wit double bed which was obviously available. The hotel it self is otherwise good just the parking price is a ripoff.

I want to thank the hotel reception staff for being extremely kind and supportive. Even without being a guest at the hotel, they lent me a phone charger, which would help me to resolve a professional situation. Thank you guys so much!
