(+): location, view, general appearance and cleanliness, those retro gaming stations (-): Terrace closed throughout whole stay and no reason given, tiny rooms (dont let the pictures fool you), unmaintained fire alarm over the bed which wildly flashes brightly at night and prevents u sleeping (dangerous and just generally careless). Calling those bathroom glass misconceptions with the heavy doors "design" is simply a marketing scam, there is nothing useful or nice about this and the tries by management/marketing to frame this misconceptions as something good are simply untrue. This is simply a nice idea delivered carelessly. Although I didnt have the other unpleasant experiences that other negative reviews mention I can very well imagine these as the whole concept seems to be a bit fake and eye-candy for lack of purpose/functionality. That all said, still OK to stat here for the mentioned upsides.

Beautiful to look at but rooms are very small & impractical. Bathroom was totally glassed in so couldn't turn a light on at night. Lots of lighting except where needed (above the sink). Almost no counter space in room or bathroom. Two tiny hooks in bathroom. However, the shower worked very well. The breakfast was decent. Location was fabulous-on the edge of the Old Town & within walking distance of Guggenheim along the river. Coffee maker in room. Beautiful view of plaza below. Little balcony. Check-in process was slow.

We were meeting friends at the hotel's bar and arrived early, so we ordered a couple of coffees while waiting. When the waitress brought the coffees, she also brought a couple of pastries. As our friends joined us, we ordered two more coffees, but this time, no pastries were provided. We ended up with four coffees and only two complimentary pastries on the table, creating an awkward situation. Given the higher prices compared to other venues nearby, such oversights are disappointing. However, I refrain from giving a 1-star rating as the coffee itself was very good.

We were excited to stay at the NYX Hotel, however upon arrival we were confronted by a very unhelpful reception desk. We booked through booking.com and have never needed to present a credit card for assurance, but because we didn’t have a credit card we were turned away from the hotel (even though the payment was already authorized). Other assurances like leaving our passports at the desk or leaving cash were ignored and they didn’t think about a solution at all. Do not stay here if u want good customer service.

The best part about this hotel? Everything! Price point is decent. Located in a central area with easy walking access to major points of interest. The place and decor has a glass/eclectic vibe. The staff was most accommodating, friendly, and helpful. A great hotel in a great city…

IT ALL comes down to the staff, including the leadership. The NYX Hotel Bilbao was spotless, comfortable, and most of all friendly! Every facet of the quality of our stay can be attributed to the positive energy and work ethic of the staff, at every level! The Front Desk Staff, lead by Maya, is the welcoming face of NYX Bilbao. Luis was our savior, helping us garage our car when the Bilbao Police were about to ticket our car because we misunderstood a nearby parking space rule. Thank You, again, Luis! The room was spotless, as I've said, the breakfast was fresh and delicious and the location is perfect and scenic. The NYX Bilbao is lively, yet the service is traditional, and the rooms restful. And, not least of all....it was a great value! We highly recommend the NYX Bilbao!

We spent 3 nights at NYX hotel for tourism. The location is excellent to see all parts of the city, and is a stone's throw from the train station. There is a taxi rank at the front and the staff are friendly and professional. The bar isn't too expensive either. If I had to say something negative, it would be that the breakfast could have a bit more variety. Overall, well worth it and I'd stay there again.

Perfect location, everything is close and by walk there is a huge choice of restaurant and tapas bar. Service is very friendly, they help a lot with everything. Rooms are very clean, not noisy, but very very small. Restaurant works much better for breakfast than dinner. No parking (there is public one very close, but expensive)

Glassed bathroom is not appropriate in hotels. Water leaks from shower to the floor. Windows are soundproof, but walls are not. Receptionists are nice and helpful. Cleaning is moderate. Air-conditioning is okay. Not having English - speaking channels is shameful. Otherwise the hotel is good.

Found the hotel after quick internet search of the area. Ideally located near the station, with easy walking to all major tourist parts. Staff friendly and knowledgeable. Bar well stocked. Feels like a boutique hotel, but supported by the bigger brand. Liked the little design touches including the free arcade machines and roof terrace.

Great hotel, very central, easy to find right on the edge of the old town. Helpful staff. Shame the roof terrace was closed because of the weather.

This was one of my favorite hotels out of 6 hotels I stayed at in my trip to Spain. The value is excellent. The location was perfect as it looks out over a nice active plaza in Old Town. Loved the hotel. Staff was very helpful with advice of what to do and restaurants in the area. Would recommend!!

Extremely bad price-quality relationship. Tiny rooms. The restaurant capacity was full so no possibility of having breakfast in the hotel; the windows are badly soundproofed, street noises woke us up at 7am (and we were at the 5th floor!); it doesn't have a lobby worthy of a 4-star hotel, one enters directly into the restaurant room, with a very small reception desk. The only two good things about this hotel are the modern decor and the location. For the rest it's definitely not worth it, the price is too high for what it offers.

Amazing location. Close to everything and easy to get to. Views are great and only 15 minutes walk to Guggenheim. Staff polite and friendly. Great value for money. Sadly the roof terrace isn't open nor the gym though.

Great location! Close to EVERYTHING you possible want as a visitor. Close to old town, close to new town, next door to all the restaurants. Also close to underground, taxi, train, buses and tram in case you want to see more. I am not convinced that glass is great choice for walls for a toilet. But that is all.

Good location but that's it. Rooms had SO much noise with paper thin walls. Rooftop bar which was the 1 reason I chose this place was only open on certain days upstairs which they never disclosed on the website and the top part of the lounge showed in pictures was under construction. They promised to give me a voucher for the noise issues I had and never did. When I asked for a reciept they never got back to me via email. Poor service from senior managment, they are just looking to take your money.

Room is small for a 7 day stay. Adequate but cramped. Good soundproofing. Lacks provision of English news channels. Fab location and attentive service. Particularly good reception staff. Four star plus.

Great location, but the overall concept of the hotel is annoying, to say the least. Loud house music greets you in the reception, as if you were in a Ibiza nightclub. The decor is supposed to be stylish, but I found it embarrassingly tacky and try-hard. The rooms are small, with a very strange feature: the bathroom walls are of frosted glass, which means you can see your partner on the toilet! The pool was not open, but this is not indicated on the website. Only worth it if you really want to be next to the pintxo bars - otherwise it’s just a short walk to lots of other good hotels of a similar price.

Well positioned, quiet, and comfortable. UK visitors will love the glass-walled en-suite. Lifts to all floors, ample bar area, and a short hop across the bridge to a wealth of shops and food bars. Served by the tram from the bus station too.

I enjoyed my stay, however for each of the three nights that I stayed Mon,Tue,Wed, I had trouble sleeping because of the position of the hotel being very close to the concerts outside. Normally I would have enjoyed this greatly and would have considered it even a plus, however it was a business trip and I had to sleep in early, but I couldn't because the music outside was very loud. Monday I woke up at 3am to travel to Bilbao, Tuesday and Wednesday I woke up at 6 to travel to work office and on Thursday I had to wake up at 3am to get ready for the flight back. I am now traveling back and I am VERY tired. I don't know if every day in Bilbao is like this, with a concert outside, or if I just got "lucky" :) Thank you for everything else, I enjoyed it !

Wonderful stay. Very comfortable and clean. Great value for money and perfect location for the old town ! Other parts are easily assessible. Just a small issue with the shower being flooded as the water could not be drained away fast enough. Thank you !

Second time we stay with Leonardo NYX hotels, (First ws in Mannheim) and NYX Bilbao even superseded our German experience. Friendly and warm welcome. Due to early arrival, we were lucky and got upgraded to 2 superb rooms with balcony overlooking the central city and the river, and the old town just behind us. Nearby underground parking - (Important feature when coming from San Sebastian) Nice and delicate breakfast. Coming back to Bilbao, we will stay with NYX Bilbao again, and wherever we go, we'll check for a NYX hotel.

I have been recommended this hotel from a family member and they treated us in a really nice way, we had everything we needed and the Room was excellent. Restaurant was modern and prices were affordable, location wise you cannot expect any better. Wonderful experience. Thanking MarĂa at reception for such a great welcoming! We will be back and definitely recommended to family and friends.

Booked a Triple Comfort Room with 3 beds for 3 adults. One of our friends arrived earlier in the morning and had checked into the room already. When we checked ourselves in in the evening at around 21:00, we were told that there were only 2 beds set up. Obviously we were very confused as we had clearly booked a Triple Comfort Room and had paid the money to do so as well. The receptionist was incredibly difficult and would not even suggest any type of solution to this but was simply saying that there were on 2 beds because the booking said we were only 2 guests, despite us having booked a triple room. We spent around an hour trying to ask him if we could have a third bed moved in so we could go to sleep but he refused and called his manager, Anabel Herrera Gonzalez in. This lady was even worse, her attitude was horrendous and after speaking with her for 20 minutes, she then proceeded to ignore us and tend to other guests. We sat there for about 15 minutes before she came back and stated that we could not stay in their hotel any longer due to government restrictions and that we could not be 3 in one room. Why was this not mentioned at the beginning of the conversation? There is no such restriction as we checked with other hotels and this lady had clearly lied to us because she couldn't be bothered to set us up another bed. We had to call our friend, who was already sleeping, to come down with his things so that we could go to another hotel. In the end, we were left out on the street at 23:30 going to our new hotel - who clearly never had any such restriction on having 3 guests in one room. Absolutely ridiculous and horrendous service. Given that we were only in Bilbao for one night, this definitely left a sour taste in our mouths.

Very helpful receptionists. Smooth check-in. Offered to hold bags since we arrived early, and called immediately when the room was ready. Offered public and valet parking. Gave lots of information about hotel and surroundings. Clean and spacious room and premises. Very central location.

A hotel trying hard to be "trendy" but forgetting the reason it exists - to serve customers! We were offered an upgrade via email after booking. They have this silly auction system where you can bid on an upgrade. You also have the option to book the upgrade for a fixed price. When I used the link in the email it went through all the steps but failed to upgrade in the end (I tried the direct option even though the girl at check in wanted to debate with me). I emailed the hotel 2 days before arrival - still waiting on that response! At check-in I got the "that's the reservation department excuse" and no one was interested to help, apologise or accept any kind of responsibility. The room itself is small but nice enough. Bed is comfortable and shower is good. If you're thinking about working from the hotel forget it. There's nowhere to work and music is playing loudly in the lobby. The other option is a "living room" which has no power points or aircon. This hotel will remind you why it's best to stay near the beach or in smaller towns and cities.

The room was well designed to create a spacious feel with great lighting. The shower was wonderful and the sheets felt great. I enjoyed a spectacular view of the sunrise from a comfy bed.

Excellent hotel, very friendly and efficient staff. Top location! The hotel is located in the old town of Bilbao which makes it easy to walk to all attractions, shops and restaurants. It's across the street from bus, tram and taxi stops and a 5 minute walk to RENFE trainstation. The food at their restaurant was outstanding and reasonably priced. Modern rooms and comfortable beds.

Excellent hotel in a great location in the old part of town, Casco Viejo, and within walking distance to all points of interest. Close to shops, the market and restaurants. Public transport and taxi đźš• stand across the street. Their restaurant is outstanding. It's a small menu with tantalising choices for lunch and dinner. The beef tenderloin was cooked to perfection and the potato puree to die for. Rooms are modern and well appointed except for the bed which I found a bit hard but other than that excellent đź‘Ť The staff was friendly, welcoming and very helpful. I highly recommend this hotel for its top location, staff and services.

After our flight was cancelled we stayed one night in NYX hotel, it was wonderful to find such a lovely, clean spacious room in a great location, our early morning wake up call and Taxi were both on time.

Luis Jose on reception was very helpful and it was a pleasure to deal with him. The location was perfect, the room lovely and the breakfast fresh and good quality.

Perfect location in the Old Town - easy walking distance from the bus depot. The room is modern, beautiful, and comfortable beds. It said we had a city view but all we saw was the side of the next door building - zero view. The bathroom shower, although it had a shower curtain, was not sunken so water would also seep out. The front desk staff were helpful and friendly.

Bathroom had no window and Extractor fan did not work. Did not get fixed despite telling management. Room was a bit poky. Hotel Bar Staff member who served us was extremely rude and unpleasant. Cleaning staff started hoovering around the guests in the bar at 22.30. Breakfast is not good value. Cold coffee from machine and poor choice of items. I stayed here 12 months ago and enjoyed my stay. However I wouldn't book here again on my recent experience

A glamorous and very well located hotel. The NYX Hotel Bilbao is very well located, very close to the historical area and just a few meters from the commercial part, such as El Corte Inglés. The staff is all very friendly and cordial. The rooms are good, however, the glass door separating the bathroom from the bed can be an issue in terms of privacy, since you can see everything you are doing there. When we return to Bilbao, we know where to stay. Gracias!
