Overall, the hostel is in extremely poor condition. In general, cleaning is almost never done here. In the week we were there, the shared bathroom wasn't cleaned once. Everything is very, very dirty. The bathroom is very dirty as you can see in the pictures. The showers and toilets in particular are in a very poor and electrical condition. You wouldn't want to go in here even once. It's just disgusting. The rooms are also very dirty. When we arrived the beds were unmade and some of the beds had big weird stains like you can see in the pictures. In addition, the rooms are very small and there are only very small windows, if any, which hardly let in any air. There is always bad air in the room. The room wasn't cleaned for a week either. That's why the garbage piles up in the room. The hostel is in the worst area of Bilbao. You don't feel safe here at all in the evening. The police presence is also above average, but this does not contribute to the feeling of security. I would absolutely not recommend anyone to spend even one day/night here.

This is the bcool? Have they changed the name? We had a reservation from last year that could not be made due to confinement and they reimbursed us in the form of a voucher. Since then, due to mobility restrictions by the different autonomous communities, we have not been able to go. In May the voucher expires and, as we see that it will be impossible, we are trying to contact the hotel for an extension or refund of the reservation money. They don't answer email or phone...

Boys will be boys and need their mum to clean up after them 🤐 bcool is a very nice and friendly hostel. Clean rooms, clean halls, a beautiful rooftop terrace. The location is perfect, just a few steps away from the old center. There are some minus points though: the kitchen area is not very well equipped and there could be a squeegee info the bathroom so you can clean the shower after you used it. But the staff is friendly, so are the prices!!

Amazing hostel. Great atmosphere, good location, easy findable. Beds are comfortable and big enough. Dorms are not to big and well maintained. Bathrooms are ok and clean and showers warm. Happy man here. Would go back definitely. Nice personal also. Recommended

I was quite disappointed with this hostel. I slept in a 6 bed room, which was way too small for 6 people! Minimal comfort. The 'dining room' only has a microwave and a dirty and overflowing fridge... It is therefore impossible to cook anything and you often have to ask for clean cutlery because they don't provide any... They also ask for deposits for absolutely everything and will charge you to leave your belongings if you arrive before check-in time (even if the hostel is empty) or leave after check-out time.

Bcool bilbao is the best hostel I've ever been in. You can check in at any time of the day and night, and you can have your privacy even in a mixed room, cause every bed has a courtain, and every day the rooms are cleaned by the staff. The bathrooms are very clean as well. There is a beautiful terrace where you can meet and chat with a lot of interesting people from all over the world and even play table soccer. It's not far from the center, and the staff is very helpful and friendly

Location is good, very very close to the railway station. The neighborhood might look a bit sketchy, but well connected. The hostel is indeed cool! A lot of natural light, very clean and comfortable. I was in a 6-female in suite, which was a bit tight, but had enough space for personal belongings. There is a guided tour of Bilbao organized in Spanish and English, make sure to reserve a place in the right tour! The bar offers delicious breakfast options to start your day.

Unfortunately, despite the low season, the bathroom was totally dirty and it wasn't cleaned in the 2 days I was there. Not in my room either. There is no kitchen and no dishes. So on the last day someone put a plastic bowl in the microwave and everything melted. ATTENTION I would not necessarily recommend this hostel to women traveling alone or to people who feel uncomfortable easily. The hostel is in what I consider a dubious area. The police are always on site. I had an uneasy feeling, especially in the evening. The only thing I really liked was that I had a 4-person room (€18) all to myself. But just in January.

I stayed one night on route to Logroño. Very clean, not too many beds in each room, great little bar, great welcome and close to the old town and railway station. Was fully booked, so worth reserving beforehand.

I'm Spanish and sometimes I hate how hostels and hotels contribute to the gentrification of cities. This hostel does so but I love how well integrated is in the neighbourhood. The people working here are mostly locals and it's easy to feel part of the neighbourhood as soon as you leave the place. Please be aware this isn't a posh neighbourhood. If you are looking after a real local experience come here, but be a local too, buy and eat at nearby places, they are great and way cheaper.

If you are a backpacker traveler or you are in Bilbao to get to know it, this is your place: very good cleanliness, shower with a lot of pressure, unbeatable service, comfortable beds and good communication.

Pros: the dorms and pods were fantastic and a great affordable price. We had breakfast at the bar connected and it was a great coffee and tortilla for €2,50 Cons: The location was a little sketchy. The bathrooms were dark. The entire shower cubicle gets wet during the shower, and as I was drying myself the sensor lights turned off and I was left in complete darkness. A bit weird.

The hostel is deceptively huge, with many rooms and floors. The terrace was fantastic to sit on in the evenings. It's located in a cool part of town, close to the river. I would definitely stay here again!

Really clean and hip hostel. Maybe a bit more fridge space would have been nice as there was a lot of people staying. Rooms were nice and bed with curtain and light. This gave a little privacy for each person in the room.

The social area is very social, not inviting. Although nowadays everybody is on their phones anyway. There is a bar, but it isn't an inviting place to stay. The mattress was poor and the pillow was small and light. The bunk beds squeaked and the lockers couldn't either lock or open. The shower was good and hairdryer. Beds need improvement as do lockers and also the painting design of room was basic and rough, chipped paint. The window didn't have a mechanism to allow it to be open. If you were drunk or extremely tired and can sleep anywhere. Then go for it.

Main thing is I question the safety of this area. They need more reception gat soeak English instead of look at you or ask you to email. I was stopped cautioned by local resident Not to walk down the aide alley way with my camera in hand. The location it’s not so nice in slums. Police all over street the night before and blood on ground in the morning. 9 minutes to training station on foot. The minor things is they charge for bag storage even in low winter season unlike B cool Guitar across the train station. Stay was good but no kitchen not even a sink as it’s under renovation. Wifi sketchy unsecured no password, it drops and for one of the older iPhone 5 it won’t connect at all. Very nice 24 hour service the night shift guy is Moroccan speaks English Spanish and French. The four persons room was tiny and window doesn’t open but half inch, smell the others. The 6 person female room with bath is nice, I recommend. They have 218 beds but the place is well planned and doesn’t feel big like the Generator Hostel style lining up every room in a row. It still feels small and secure. Key card deposit 2€.
