The Salt Satyagraha March or The Dandi March of 1930 as it is popularly known, is a landmark in the history of Indian freedom struggle. As a part of the Civil Disobedience Movement against the British rule, 80 Satyagrahis led by Mahatma Gandhi marched 241-miles from Sabarmati Ashram, Ahmedabad to the coastal village of Dandi and broke the Salt Law imposed by the British. As was the symbolic nature of the event, it inspired millions of Indians to join the freedom struggle and brought worldwide attention to the movement. The Dandi March demonstrated the effectiveness of non-violent civil disobedience as a form of protest.

I truly lived the moment, as entire Dandi Yatra and our freedom fighters are kept alive there. The place is showcasing how low a race can behave with others. How cruel so called "Nobles" can become and infest others as parasites, to earn their livelihood by taxing natural resources. If you don't know-for 40 years all Indians, Pakistanis, Bangladeshis, Nepalese, Bhutanese paid 1100% tax on "Table Salt". "Stay Strong to Save Nation, that should be our Priority"

Very nice place to visit with wheelchair accessible for disabled and elderly people. It’s nice to see history. The only downside is they not let you take any liquid (not even water) to the place. You only have to drink their own water which is situated at the beginning and if you on other side and feel thirsty forget it. They should be more linear to at least water bottle. As long as people behave responsibly for the wastage. Also they do have light show by the Gandhi statue casting the historical video. It’s really nice place to relax and be part of the serenity.
