Lakhota lake bis very Nice & beautiful palace in the jamnagar city. This park is well maintained, neat and clean from both the sides. There are many activities like jogging track, open gym, Play garden and many more activity to do. There are many things to see there like fish aquarium, mini bird zoo, museum, and there is a historical place. It is one of the bestest place of Jamnagar.

Entry ticket is 25 INR for indian citizens. The palace does not allow photography inside the premises. Park around it offers wide variety of food shops, childern activity area, garden and a well arranged path for walking. In morning hours you can find many migratory birds so preferably take your cameras to capture the birds. There are also many food joints and fun activities for the children nearby the lake. All in all.....it's a good place to sit, relax & hangout with friends. Beautiful view 😍❤️

Slice of history here. Very well maintained. It's advisable to visit in the evening time. One could spend a good 2 hours here. Photography isn't allowed inside the fort palace. The attractions here are numerous limestone sculptures mostly of the 18th century. Several paintings and hand crafted artifacts are preserved too. Don't miss the hippo skull and the blue whale skeleton!! An eyesore is the dargah. What's it doing here??

Located in the middle of Jamnagar city. The lake around the museum adds extra beauty. It contains parks around the lake in which we can spend time with our family, friends etc. The place looks more beautiful in the early morning 🌄 and the dusk 🌇. We have to buy a ticket to enter the palace. It cost around 10 rupees. It has a track to walk around the lake. Overall it's a very beautiful place. MUST VISIT

Palace provides a good museum experience. It is mostly arranged with old sculptures retrieved from 8-10th century. It has some of Devanagari Scriptures and a skeleton of blue whale. There are some paintings also. Photos and videography inside of the museum is prohibited. It has some of structural nuances also one of which includes a well organized and kind of rare water retrieval system where blowing one hole out of four results into release of water from other holes. Entry ticket is 25 INR for indian citizens. To enter the park one needs to buy an entry ticket of INR 10 to the park, though which entry to the museum is possible. Park around it offers wide variety of food shops, childern activity area, garden and a well arranged path for walking. Usually less crowded on weekdays but can be bit of rushful on weekends.

Lakhota Palace is a beautiful palace in the centre of a lake which is now turned into a Museum surrounded by a park which attracts a lot of crowd due to its peaceful environment. The park is beautifully maintained, neat and clean. It has a synthetic running track which serves the purpose for walking and jogging by local netizens, both young and old. It is also inhabited by a variety of birds and even bats, which make this place even more natural and a complete ecosystem. The lighting of the park and the palace itself is something to look at in the late evening.

It was such a peaceful visit there. No long queues, peace maintained and clean premises. The palace was built to protect the boundaries from the enemy as well as for leisure activities of the Royal family. It's a fortress built in the centre of the lake. What caught my attention was Devrani Jethani Mahel... Don't kno the story behind it but it's just a single room in between water.... Overall a nice place to visit ... The museum has idols of Gods made with limestone ... We liked our short and sweet scenic visit to the palace ..

In jamanagar, the places are very few but this is a place which you can not exclude in jamanagar. The fort/castle converted into musium. The location is so unique it has a outer ring road closed for normal traffic but developed so that people can walk and seat. Small gardens, fountains and public amenities on the ring road with single entry point for the fort/castle that is situated in the middle of the lakhota lake. The royal and rich heritage culture of kathiyavad.

On orders of Jan Ranmalji, the tower was constructed for drought relief, when it failed to rain in the area during the years 1834, 1839 and 1846. Present in the museum are art pieces from the 9th and 18th century and poetry from the medieval villages close by. There is also a guardroom within the museum which houses swords, powder flasks, guns and weapons, which show how strong and powerful the military of the area was during those times. The museum is open for public viewing between 10.30 am and 5.30 pm.

#IncredibleIndia #अतुल्यभारत A beautiful palace cum museum at the centre of the lake which is surrounded by a jogging/walking trail. The entry ticket costs ₹10 & an additional ₹100 for carring DSLR inside. An evening or morning walk here is a pure bliss. This is most probably the best place in Jamnagar with plenty of food options nearby around the park.

Lakhota Palace, a pleasing palace in the middle of the lake, houses a beautiful repository called Lakhota Museum. Rulers of Nawangar constructed the Lakhota Palace and today it is an important attraction of Jamnagar. The museum showcases the artefacts that belong to the 18th and 19th century including items like a skeleton of a whale, swords, powder flasks, possessions of Jadeja Rajputs, and remnants of Gujarat rulers. Also, there are artefacts describing the life of the people around the region who lived there during the 18th century. Lakhota Museum walls are covered with frescos and paintings depicting various wars that were fought by the Jadeja Rajputs. For those who want to see more of wonderful antiques can visit the Lakhota Palace. Beautiful ambience and palaces are something that shouldn't go unnoticed.

Loved it. Excellent maintenance of the property. There is a 4km+ peripheral walkway around the lake were you can sit, relax, walk, enjoy, eat. The palace which has been converted to the museum has two entrances: archways which take you to the palace which is located in the center of the lake. There are good exhibits on the stone sculptures found in the surrounding area, beautiful and detailed paintings of the battle that the local rulers fought in. One can climb up the stairs to different floor to enjoy the different exhibits.

Beautiful clean well maintained palace, camera not allowed inside, surrounded by cool lake and walkway all around. The exhibit kept inside are old , there is no body to explain, even though lot of guards are their to guard the items,. you just go and see and come back if u happen to go in afternoon as we did it is damn hot, no shelter in side. they should allow camera inside and put few guide to explain the exhibits to visitors like us. there is separate entry fee to get in to garden surrounding the place and the palace it self.

Nice, clean, well conserved palace in the middle of the pond Ticket worth of 25/-per person but one must show COVID vaccine certificate compulsorily which is a bit problematic as the staff themselves don't wear masks and all r busy on mobiles Whereas photography is banned for visiters But there's a selfie point and nice garden near the entrance with washroom facility which is a good thing as one has to walk alot here Nice collectibles, informative murals, carvings, statues, paintings, displays Little tough for old and differently abled people There is 1 majaar, masjid as well The small wooden bridge on path to palace is also remarkable Very scenic from all around the pond, Also one can enjoy musical fountain show around 7pm from gate no. 2 Entry only from gate no. 5 Evening onwards the whole palace is lightened which gives special view If visiters are not informed they might miss some portions upstairs The binocular position is useless as it's blank and no binocular is available, it should have been there There's drinking water facility available as well Worth a visit to know the era

Lakhota Talav is one of the most beautiful and serene places of Jamnagar. Being right in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the city, the lake stands as the perfect picture of serenity. It is also known as the Ranmal Lake and surrounds Lakhota Fort, which is situated in an island inside. The lake and the palace were constructed by King of Navanagar, Jan Ranmal II in the mid-19th century AD. Within the palace, there is an archaeology museum which possesses sculptures (dating from 9th to 18th century), arms and firearms, medieval age pottery from surrounding villages and so on. The fort is connected with the banks through two pathways. Ranmal Lake is a major place of recreation for locals and a must-visit tourist spot. Evening is the time when most people come to socialise and relax. The lake being lit at night makes the whole place more attractive. Several food stalls are there to satisfy your hunger and make your taste buds happy. A walking track has been built around the lake to give the pleasure of walking round the lovely lake. There are benches around the Lakhota Lake to sit and relax; one can also sit and relax in the Kamala Nehru Park located near one end of the Talav.

The Lakhota palace is built on the lake and is placed in the middle of it which harboured the rulers of the place at that time. It features different architectural beauties like semi-circular bastions, turrets, cannons, musket loops, powder flasks and much more. It also features the military history and is a reason why the palace is full of military related things. The Lakhota palace was built very emphatically, in a way that the security was top notch and the presence of lake even made it harder to attack and reach for. Lakhota Palace, placed in the middle of Ranmal or Lakhota Lake as it is also known by is the historic palace that is showcased as a museum these days. Timings Lakhota Palace and Museum open at 01:00 PM to 09:00 PM (in Winter season opening & closing time prior to 1 hours) Entry Fees 25 INR per Indian tourist and 100 INR per Foreign tourist. (Child up to 5 years free) Photography 100 INR for Indians and 500 INR for Foreigners (5000 INR for Pre Wedding Photo Shoot or other special events) You can see many migratory birds in the lake , if you visit between December to March

Went for a weekend morning 5 km run. The place is well maintained. Nominal entry fee 10₹ you go free if you get entry before 7 am. Nice Park and Restrooms to use whenever needed. They have small benches every 100 m to take rest of needed. They also have museum which consists of historical fact and figures relating to Jamnagar. They also have open air theatre where different shows are there in the evening. Inquir about it at the ticket office. Parking space is huge and no charge is to be paid for it. Just outside thr main entry gate lots of sea gulls and pigeons are feed popcorn and different grains they eat. Children's would love it. It was a very nice experience would visit again soon ✌🏻💪🏻😊.

I had the privilege of visiting the Lakhota Palace and Museum, right at the middle of Ranmal Lake, way back in 2014. So if you are reading this, I would suggest you look at other, more recent reviews - since the entire place was renovated in 2018. When I had visited, bulk of the palace was not in great shape, party due to non-maintenance, partly due to the damage caused by the 2001 earthquake. But even then, the pristine lake surrounding the bastion, home to delightful flocks of birds, the uncricketer like statue of the one and only Ranji, and the sheer history of the place - were enough to impress. Teh museum houses artifacts of the royal family dating back 200 - 300 years, and a few cricketing memorabilia belonging to K.S. Ranjitsinhji as well. However, post the renovation in 2018, the entire place has got transformed, repainted and the museum in particular has got reorganised. Will request visitors to keep track of the latest travel timings, and entry cost, but definitely a must-not-miss place, if you ever are in Jamnagar.

The place is very good and clean, but the museum is not worth the visit except for blue whale skeleton.

Lakhota Palace and Museum is built on a lake island and offers the gems of sheer visual treat. It has a paved jogging track around the lake. providing a relaxing stroll around the beautiful lake. Public amenities like clean toilets and drinking water are available in the vicinity. The exhibition hall grandstands the ancient rarities that have a place with the eighteenth and nineteenth century including things like a skeleton of a whale, swords, powder jars, belonging of Jadeja Rajputs, and leftovers of Gujarat rulers. Likewise, there are ancient rarities depicting the life of the general population around the district who lived there amid the eighteenth century. Staff had no information to tell other pointing to board. No Audio facility. No Photos allowed so difficult to remember all about.

Visited Lakhota Lake Palace & Museum over weekend in the evening and it was nice environment. Although at the time of visit, the Museum was not opened to the public as my visit was after the cyclone Biparjoy. The lake is nice and well maintained and could be a desirable place for evening walks. Entry fees in nominal but the DSLR charges are high and I believe it unnecessary. Despite all these the beauty of lake and surrounding is enjoyable.

Good place to spend time if you are in Jamnagar. There is an entry ticket of rs 10 to roam around the lake. For museum additional ticket of rs 25 has to be purchased.
