Babubhai nu Umbadiyu...You shall get authentic Umbadiyu here. Taste is very good. Umbadiyu pot handling seems to be hygienic. It's a self service center. There is a ice cream shop in case you feel it spicy. It's a nice semi open space. It was sufficient seating capacity. Also, it's very much adjacent to the Highway. You can park your car. Enjoy.

Must have experience when in Gujarat. The concept is traditional. We visited this place on our way back home from a road trip. The taste and all was good but the only problem was that the veggies got a little dry BUT the chutney is just wow. There are other dadi's (older women) who sit in the same stretch and it is believed that their servings are more authentic. This place though is situated at the highway. Parking space is on the service lane side. The sitting area is decent and people in lesser numbers end up sharing the same table which is not a problem. During rush hours, you may have to wait in the line for at least 20 minutes. This dish is meant to be eaten by hands and by the time you finish your food, you will realise the mess. Don't worry, they have clean basins located in their backyard. 460 Rs per kg was the price here. We ordered 1.5 kgs and were 4 adults and 2 kids( picture shared). Enjoy. Must try this on your way to Surat from Mumbai. An earthen pot filled with seasonal vegetables mildly spiced , buried in the ground and lit on fire allowing the heat of the soil to cook these veggies. Babubhai is the perfect host .

The review is after a meticulous and indepth experience of this joint. Not rating it high because of the following points, 1. Too much of waiting, due to mismanagement. ( I waited for 40 mins) 2. Overcooked umbadiyu 3. No attention to the customers need Overall, this was a not so good experience at Babubhai Umbadiyu. Heard a lot and think it's overrated. But I should mention that I had been to their outlet inside the Dungri town and had a real great experience... This was a sour one. Overall, a ok experience and would suggest to look out for other stalls who provide the same or near same taste.

Amazing place for Umbadiyu/Ubadiyu. Specially in the winter evenings/night, if you are spicy food lover, it is the best food in chilly winter nights! I tried Umbadiyu/Ubadiyu at many places in south Gujarat region but here it tastes far better than the other. In week ends it’ll be too much crowded.

Really a great place to eat Umbadia. The taste is by far the best. It's a little on the spicier side but that's it's fun. They have two locations one on the highway and another in the village. The village is still better than the other. Don't forget to see the making of Umbadia.

I visited there in the middle of winter, Umbadiu is nothing special but boiled vegetables. If you like boiled food, be sure to visit. The place is so filthy and smelly that you don't even feel like eating there. The table and chairs were also very dirty. I don't know why Babubhai Umbadiyu is so famous, I didn't feel anything special. improper management and a very long thorny line. no clearness, no hygiene standard.

This is frankly average place, the taste is just okay lacks flavour and seasoning. The root vegetables are not even pealed, maybe not even washed. The papdis are also neither pealed nor cleaned. The chutney they serve is good but other than that it is just average.

OG Food (Original Gujarati), South Gujarati cuisine done right. It was fortunate for me to have met Mr. Babubhai in person there. The taste is incredible. Suggested to be enjoyed with cool Chaas🥛which is available at the shop near by on site. Come preferably around 8pm to 10pm. Suggestions: 1) Could improve packaging as it is hot. 2) Dining experience could be much better with paper plates rather than serving in newspaper. 3) Tissue papers in the dining area

Just the insta hype, nothing else. About the food, nothing much just boiled veggies marinated in green chilli coriander paste filled in a pot and cooked outside in flames. You can always try, they serve it with chutney. There are people standing in queue to get there umbadiyu. They have benches so that you can grab a quick bite before you hit next city on highway.

84 kms before Surat from Mumbai located on National highway at Dungari Village.If u can't wait for 1-2 hrs, pls don't visit on weekends. It's utter choas. In my visit, people were jumping the que. The Ubadiyu is no doubt the best. Little spicy side. Visit on weekdays and enjoy. Although parcel might be a better option if u like a neat and clean place to enjoy food. Ubadiyu is local delicacy, available only in winters.
