Beautiful venue but the service on my side was questionable! The young man on my niece’s side the b day lady he was great the Chef TIGER was excellent. But my server didn’t catch her name was having a bad day!!! The manager must have saw my facial expressions he checked on me three or four times. It was 14 of us they accommodated us by keeping us across from each other at the same hibachi table. My side With Tiger was a hell of a show! But the waitress what was her name? Oh she didn’t tell us didn’t explain the menu. Didn’t ask is this your first time here? But she came back for my bill didn’t offer to see if we were ok except once to bring item my daughter ordered later. Would have made this whole experience better with a different waitress. I’m an older lady with a large family we love to come together well you see some enjoyed more than others. Make your own decision about this place. I warn you places like this where the tips are included don’t guarantee good SERVICE!!!! This girl needed her job so I didn’t complain but hope you don’t get her table. My photo not included I took the pictures.

To be honest I did not care for the service. The server was trying to be somewhat accommodating. Yet, the manger approached us with and unsettling demeanor the manger is very rude. As a manager I expected a different approach. This was not the case I do to the severity of the manger behavior towards me. I will not be back here again until there is a new manger. This place need someone who can properly do their JOB. but this is just my opinion.

I ate at Nara on December 11th, 2021, today is December 12, 2021. I had very high hopes of this place and I’m highly disappointed!! First, I want to start off with the service, the service was terrible from our waiter, whose name on the receipt reads “Agus A”… He had a TERRIBLE attitude! The whole time he was snatching menus, throwing receipts down, snatching the check, rolling his eyes, did NOT come to the table to check on us and asked if we needed anything!! I told him prior I wanted to place a carry out, he only came back to the table to box up the food and I reminded him again, he then walked away and didn’t take our order, I then had to remind him once again and he rolled his eyes and had such a nasty attitude like that wasn’t his job, all for him to tell us the kitchen was closed. On top of the service the food lacked flavor and was very dry! This place needs to check him! If he didn’t want to work, he should’ve called off! Also re-teach the chefs how to cook! Cooked the food for too long and dried it out, didn’t put enough seasoning, and was VERY stingy with the garlic butter!! I only gave it two stars because the drinks were decent. A waste of money. Unsatisfied!

Got surprised by valet only parking when I pulled up. Once our group filled out, we were seated with another group. Too close. The chef was in a mask but that was about it with the staff. The show of the making the food and the food was average at best. So was the service. I took a star off for lack of Covid safty when cases are rising sharply in Michigan.

This place is awesome. If you like Benihana. You will LOVE Nara. The price range is the same as other hibachi restaurants. The drinks are good and pretty (not strong). The food is really good and they use garlic butter. The workers are very nice. You can watch them cook your meal or sit in the lounge or bar area and eat. You can make reservations online. However, they take credit card information and will charge you $25 per person for no shows. It’s best to make reservations if you’re going on the weekend. The parking lot is free. But after a certain time they offer valet parking. The cooks are really nice and friendly. They really try to make your experience memorable. The sushi was extremely good. It’s an automatic 20% gratuity added to your bill when you sit at the hibachi. The cooks give you feee saki and they are very entertaining. They are closed on Monday.

One of my girlfriend's celebrated her birthday here last night, it was one of the best nights of the summer. Our waiter was excellent, he got everyone their drinks and was easily accessible. He even let some of us know in advance when the cake & sparklers were coming out for the birthday girl so we could be prepared. The food was fantastic, we got a lot of rolls which was the best part. Everyone ate good all night long. The atmosphere was fantastic, especially the DJ. Loads of good songs played with a nice variety between Latin, English, and Arab. We all danced the night away as did others in the restaurant, the other patrons were incredibly friendly so the whole experience was a night to remember.

The ambiance was great. Each one of the staff was wonderful from the moment we entered. The food was delicious. Our chef was great! Super friendly and super attentive! We ordered sushi and shrimp Hibachi, it was good and the setting was family-friendly, and the service for dine-in customers was outstanding. All in all, we had a great day, and everyone liked the cuisine.

This place is Awesome! They Food was Absolutely Delicious. Although they were a little short handed, as most places are these days…our Waiter was holding it down! He remained pleasant and personable even with so many demands from the various patrons he was managing. Then our Chef was “Superb.” He was entertaining while juggling various orders and cooking preferences. Other than a slight wait because of staff shortage…. Our Experience would have been a ‘5’! But again, even with the shortage, they made sure we were taken care of to our satisfaction! Definitely going again soon!!

Nara Hibachi has such amazing service and even better food. I often get chicken, steak & scallops. The onion soup, the salad with ginger sauce is also a treat. Our chef "Joe". Is such a wonderful cook.

Well kept Hibachi restaurant, clean, well lit, and physically maintained. The server unfortunately had me wait alone at the Hibachi table for over 10 minutes untill a group of 3 showed up and sat across me. She took there drink order and walked away, after they received there drinks she came by and finally spoke to me and took my drink and sushi order. It was a vegetable roll with soy paper. It arrived shortly later prepared incorrectly, i was hungry so i just ate the roll. Anyway we all ordered our meals, the soup and salads came out then the chef. The food was tasty AND the chef was entertaining and made the experience fun. Wish the server was a bit more attentive but overall a great experience.

I was excited to eat here but after the experience I had, I will never eat here again or recommend it to anyone. Firstly, my reservation was at 7:15 and my party wasn’t seated until 8:00pm due to the staff being unprepared and our "table being set up". After getting seated late, we ordered appetizers and were extremely disgusted to find our Pork Gyoza being raw inside. After talking to our waiter about the situation, she chose to argue with us that since most of the appetizer was eaten, there isn’t anything they needed to do. After imploring her to speak to a manager, someone came to give us a new appetizer without listening to the situation or even apologizing for serving us raw food. Unfortunately, my friend who had eaten most of his gyoza before realizing that it wasn’t completely cooked, had stomach problems within an hour and was forced to use the restroom. I was not expecting to be blatantly disrespected and have one of my friends fall ill for my Birthday.

Five lemon drop shots for a birthday party for $100 . That’s price gouging . Like most hibachi places, they were very friendly, and did an excellent job preparing food at the table. Sake was excellent. Steak and shrimp. Hibachi cooked to perfection. Yum Yum sauce. Cocktails were delicious. Very big on birthday parties, but to overcharge for a simple drink tells a lot about customer service. They don’t need to repeat customers then again it’s in an area where some people will pay $100 a shot because they have the money.

I had an exceptional time at Nara Sushi! Our waitress went above and beyond, ensuring every need was met with a warm and friendly demeanor. The culinary offerings were a symphony of delightful flavors, and the drinks were equally impeccable. The ambient music and overall atmosphere created the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable evening. Without a doubt, I'll be eagerly anticipating my next visit to Nara Sushi!

Th food was pretty good but a bit too salty for my taste. We had to wait like an hour for our table even though we had a reservation, but they gave us some free appetizers to address that issue. I liked our chef and server and overall it was a fun hibachi experience.

Everything here was amazing! We ordered the Calamari and it’s the best I’ve had in a long time. The server was so sweet and very accommodating. My two children were with me and enjoyed everything as well. The only negative I have is that it’s pricey but definitely worth it.

Ok y’all so I don’t play about hibachi. Was going to Benihanas for at least 15+ years even as a kid, on dates, etc. I have to just about every notable Japanese steakhouse in michigan ( kyotos clawson , samurai steakhouse West Bloomfield, sagano ( Warren ) , miyako ( auburn hills) , Osaka ( Shelby township / troy). Shogun and ichiban I want to say are the only two that I am missing , mainly in the metro detroit area. With that being said I’ll say a majority of the restaurants above ( including Nara) provide a complimentary experience to Benihanas but doesn’t necessarily exceed the expectations. Me and my partner both ordered the steak dinner combos ( filet) with a sides of chicken fried rice ( $6). Portions were big but taste was average. Now the noodles they give you amazingly taste good. But the prices your not getting a desert like you would at a Benihanas etc. Nara more so has the night spot in it and I’ll admit it’s a vibe. I would say this your going to nara for the vibe we went for pre birthday celebration for my partner and she enjoyed it. At some points the music was loud af. Free valet parking and security at the door I liked too. Greated host and again food was just lacking. Now the only reason I gave food 3 stars is mainly when we took leftovers home, my girl was eating and noticed shrimp still had poop in it 😳😳. Shrimp were nice in size but makes you wonder. I think Nara is doing a lot of things right to elevate the hibachi experience and Seperate themselves from the traditional boomer perspective of hibachi. This definitely had millennial young person energy. I would come here to chill with the homies or go on a date and the food would be a bonus. But I wouldn’t come here looking for stellar amazing over the top Japanese cuisine.

Honestly I had a bland experience. I made reservations for the lounge but was instead told the lounge wasn't ready and had to sit in the noisy area. The steak was the only thing seasoned. The chicken was white no color from any seasonings. The vegetables weren't cooked long enough still chewing them. Noodles were salty. The rice wasn't fully fried and was dry. I honestly feel they rushed the order out just because they were busy. The drinks were good at least. On top they charge gratuity for terrible service the crab ragoon was only 3 pieces and was made with imitation crab they act like this some upscale restaurant and this is what your served.

You’re greeted warmly and welcomed. Cameron and the crew are excellent hosts! Ben is hands down the best hibachi chef! We know when we see him we are going to have a good night. Food is amazing and they are great at adapting to allergies. My family and I have dined here many times and have never had a bad experience. Thank you again!

Chef Tiger was in charge of my table and he was good! I had tuna taco as an appetizer and it was a great start to make your mouth fresh. Hibachi was great! I had fillet mignon and it was so tender. Their fried rice is a must.

Food was great! We came to celebrate a birthday with 13 people. After dinner, we had them bring out the cake to celebrate. After spending over $800, they told us that they won’t cut the cake unless we pay a $1.50 per slice. I’m pretty appalled they would charge us to cut a cake we brought after spending an exuberant amount of money.

First time trying NARA and just by walking you’ll feel the great atmosphere of welcoming by their good staff. Food was delectable, service was beyond expectations, good variety of drinks. If you ever want to try a good Hibachi, NARA is the way to go.

A friend and I went here over the weekend. We enjoyed our time and the for was great. The staff was very professional and accommodating. Please note, some nights, valet is mandatory, so bring cash to top the valet. We didn't know this but luckily we were about to work it out.

We decided to go to Nara for Valentines Day, last minute. They are normally not open on Monday, but, this was an exception due to the holiday. We arrived and as soon as we walked in the door, we were warmly greeted and I was given a long stem red rose, Awesome!! The host staff was so friendly and showed us to our Hibachi table. The room is beautiful and has a wonderful vibe! Our server Jacob took out drink order making several suggestions (I could not decide). He was amazing, extremely efficient and made our ordering process simple. Jacob is clearly a professional and top notch. The food was exceptional! Overall this was such a great experience and an unexpected last minute treat. We WILL be back!!!
